E-Bikes for Tall Riders in Canada (2026): 28 Matched by Height

The Velotric Summit 2 on a ranch lane in the Alberta foothills: a Playcut.ai rendering made from Velotric’s own photograph of the bike, with Zeus. The figures in the type are from this guide.
If you are tall, the number that decides whether an e-bike fits is not the height range on the box. It is how high the saddle goes, set against your inseam. We checked the 28 bikes Zeus’s co-founder picked for tall riders against that number at 6′0″, 6′2″, 6′4″ and 6′6″, using the fit measurements published by our US sister store, RedTail eBikes, and matched each one to load, place, season and the road rules.
Quick answer
At 6′0″, on the seat heights their makers print, the bikes we sell that measure best are the Eunorau Defender-S 2.0 on its 19-inch frame (33 of 100 riders reach the formula saddle height, 70 come within 3% of it), the Velotric Summit 2 Large (20), the Eahora Juliet Pro II (18) and the Tesway X5 AWD (17), on RedTail’s measurements[1, 2]. None of the four is on our city list: each is over 500 W or its maker lists a faster or unlockable setting, so they are trail and private-land picks. For roads and bike paths, the Samebike RS-A02 Pro and CY20 Pro measure 85 and 30 of 100 at 6′0″ on the saddle Samebike draws and 0 on the seat height it prints, so call us before you order either. From 6′2″ up, no bike we sell was measured to give most riders a full-height saddle, so buy by inseam.
Where to buy: Zeus eBikes Canada, the online store that publishes this guide, sells every bike linked here, with free shipping across Canada, phone support at 1-866-938-7580 and warranty claims filed with the maker for you (how buying from Zeus works).
How we matched these 28 bikes
Fit comes first and from measurement. RedTail eBikes, our US sister store, models each bike’s saddle against the 6,068 adults of the U.S. Army’s ANSUR II body survey, whose barefoot inseams were measured, and publishes how many in 100 at each height reach the saddle height a fit formula asks for[3, 4]. We re-ran its arithmetic on 30 October 2026 and got the same numbers; where a maker prints a seat height that disagrees with its own drawing, we print both readings. Everything else comes from each maker’s own page, read on 30 October 2026: rider window, load, weight, motor, speed, tires and battery. Range is our calculation for a 275 lb rider in the coldest riding month of eight Canadian cities, from Environment Canada’s 1991–2020 climate normals[5]. Prices and stock are from our store on 30 October 2026; Health Canada’s recall database was searched for every brand and model the same day[6].
Why Do Tall Riders Run Out of Seat Post Before They Run Out of Bike?
Samebike’s size chart says its RS-A02 Pro fits riders from 6′1″ to 7′9″[7]. Run RedTail’s fit method on the seat height Samebike prints and 0 of 100 riders at 6′0″ get a full-height saddle; run it on the saddle Samebike draws and 85 do. Order on the chart alone and you can end up with a knee that never straightens and sore knees after a long ride, on a bike that can only come back unused and unopened. This guide puts every one of our 28 picks for tall riders on the same footing, measured where measurement exists and labelled where it does not, so you can choose by your inseam and where you ride.
The pattern holds across makers: windows that reach 6′4″, 6′8″ or beyond sit on frames whose saddles stop lower. Of the 10 bikes on this page that RedTail measured for saddle reach, none gets most riders at 6′2″ to a full-height saddle on its maker’s printed seat figure; the best does it for 8 in 100[1]. That is the honest starting point, and it is why every card below prints the measurement beside the maker’s window.
Takeaway
Trust the saddle height, not the rider window. A window that reaches your height tells you little; a seat post that reaches your inseam tells you the bike fits.
What Size E-Bike Do I Need at 6′0″, 6′2″, 6′4″ and 6′6″?
Size an e-bike by your inseam, then check the bike’s top saddle height against it. In the ANSUR II survey, the median barefoot inseam is 33.8 in at 5′10″, 34.9 in at 6′0″, 36.0 in at 6′2″ and 37.6 in at 6′4″ (our calculation from the public data[3]). Only 6 of the survey’s 6,068 soldiers stand 6′6″, too few for a share, so above 6′4″ this guide gives inseam limits instead.
| Height | Median inseam | Middle 80% of inseams | Bodies in the survey |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5′10″ | 33.8 in | 32.5–35.1 in | 602 |
| 6′0″ | 34.9 in | 33.6–36.2 in | 332 |
| 6′2″ | 36.0 in | 34.6–37.4 in | 108 |
| 6′4″ | 37.6 in | 36.4–38.8 in | 35 |
| 6′6″ | 38.4 in | too few | 6 |
The table below is every bike on this page that RedTail measured for saddle reach. Each cell gives the riders out of 100 at that height whose saddle reaches the formula height (109% of inseam, measured from the pedal axle), then the riders who come within 3% of it (106%)[4]. The inseam limit is the longest inseam that still reaches the formula height with the saddle at its top: if your inseam is longer, the bike is too small for you. Every cell is one RedTail publishes on the bike’s review; “not printed” means RedTail’s table stops before that height.
| Bike | 5′10″ | 6′0″ | 6′2″ | 6′4″ | Inseam limit | Seat reading |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Samebike RS-A02 Pro | 99 / 100 | 85 / 97 | 46 / 81 | 3 / 26 | 35.9 in | drawn saddle; 0 at 6′0″ on the printed seat |
| Eunorau Defender-S 2.0 19″ | 79 / 95 | 33 / 70 | 8 / 27 | 0 / 3 | 34.5 in | maker’s printed seat |
| Samebike CY20 Pro | 75 / 95 | 30 / 67 | 6 / 26 | not printed | 34.4 in | drawn saddle; 0 at 6′0″ on the printed seat |
| Velotric Summit 2 Large | 65 / 90 | 20 / 55 | 3 / 17 | 0 / 0 | 34.1 in | maker’s printed seat |
| Eahora Juliet Pro II | 61 / 89 | 18 / 53 | 2 / 14 | not printed | 34.0 in | maker’s printed seat |
| Tesway X5 AWD | 60 / 88 | 17 / 51 | 2 / 14 | 0 / 0 | 34.0 in | maker’s printed seat |
| Eunorau Defender 19″ | 35 / 74 | 8 / 29 | 0 / 6 | 0 / 0 | 33.4 in | RedTail’s adjusted seat; 0 at 6′0″ as printed |
| Addmotor Grandtan X | 33 / 73 | 8 / 28 | 0 / 6 | not printed | 33.4 in | printed saddle; 66 at 6′0″ on the drawing |
Two of these bikes come with a warning. On the Samebike RS-A02 Pro and CY20 Pro, Samebike prints one top seat height and draws a higher one; RedTail reads the drawing, and on the printed figure the same method gives 0 of 100 at 6′0″ for both. The Addmotor Grandtan X runs the other way: RedTail leads with the printed 39 inches and shows the drawing as an alternate. Where a maker’s page disagrees with itself, we print both readings; call us before you order one of these four.
Takeaway
At 6′0″, four bikes we sell get at least 17 of 100 riders to a full-height saddle on their makers’ printed figures. At 6′2″, none passes 8. At 6′4″ and up, compare your inseam with each bike’s inseam limit.
How Do I Check Any E-Bike Against My Inseam?
Measure your inseam barefoot, then compare it with the bike’s inseam limit or its top saddle height. RedTail’s ten-minute method: stand against a wall, press a hardcover book up between your legs as a saddle would sit, and measure from the floor to the book’s spine[8]. The fit formula puts your saddle at about 109% of that inseam from the pedal axle[4].
- Read the window, then distrust it. Our picks print windows that reach 6′1″ to 7′9″; most of the measured ones fit far fewer tall riders than that.
- Find the top saddle height and where it is measured from. Most makers measure from the ground; the formula measures from the pedal. A seat-to-ground figure has to be converted for the bike’s crank and bottom bracket, which is what RedTail’s model does.
- Use the inseam limit where this guide prints one. If your inseam is longer, the saddle runs out before your leg does.
- Check the step-over against your inseam, so you can straddle the bike with your feet flat.
- Match the tire to the ground. RedTail sorts tires into regular (under 2.6 in: pavement, bike paths, packed gravel), plus (2.6–3.4 in: broken pavement, dirt roads, all-weather riding) and fat (3.5 in and up: sand, snow, mud, loose trail)[9]. Each card names the band.
- Send us both numbers. Call 1-866-938-7580 with your height and inseam and we will tell you which of these bikes fits, or that none does.
Which E-Bikes for Tall Riders Can Ride Roads and Bike Paths?
Six of our 28 picks are inside the limits the provincial e-bike rules converge on, a motor rated 500 W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h and working pedals[10, 11], by their makers’ Canadian pages and our listings, with no mode above 32 km/h listed. That is our strict rule for any bike we recommend for roads and bike paths. None of the six has a settled measured fit at 6′0″: two are measured at two readings, one has no saddle verdict, and three have not been measured, so these are the cards where your inseam matters most.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s Highway Traffic Act has no e-bike definition of its own, so it reads two ways; ask Service NL before riding there[12]. Our guide to e-bike laws in every province covers ages, helmets and where you can ride.
Samebike RS-A02 Pro
$1,399 CADWho it is for. A folding fat-tire bike inside the city line for riders up to about 6′0″, if the post reaches the height Samebike draws.
- Size: Samebike sizes it 6′1″–7′9″ on its size chart[13]. Measured: the saddle reaches the formula height for 99 at 5′10″, 85 at 6′0″, 46 at 6′2″, 3 at 6′4″, out of 100 riders (RedTail’s fit tables[7]); inseam limit 35.9 in. That is the saddle Samebike draws; read its printed 37.79 in as the saddle top and the same method gives 2 at 5′10″ and 0 at 6′0″ (our calculation).
- Load: 150 kg (Samebike’s manual, as RedTail read it[13]): 25 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider; too low for a 375 lb rider.
- Where it rides: 20 × 4.0 in: fat tires, full suspension. On the road: inside the 500 W, 32 km/h line: 500 W on Samebike’s specification table; its description says 250 W, 32 km/h[14].
- Range and storage: about 58–81 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 33 kg[14], a ground-floor or ramp bike. Folds.
The honest part. The two readings of Samebike’s seat height are 0 or 85 riders in 100 at 6′0″. We do not know which is right until a post is measured.
Samebike CY20 Pro
$999 CADWho it is for. The least expensive bike here: a folding commuter for riders up to about 6′0″, on the same two-reading caution as the RS-A02 Pro.
- Size: Samebike sizes it 4′9″–6′9″ and 150–210 cm (two windows on its pages)[16]. Measured: the saddle reaches the formula height for 75 at 5′10″, 30 at 6′0″, 6 at 6′2″, out of 100 riders (RedTail’s fit tables[15]); inseam limit 34.4 in. That is the saddle Samebike draws; read its printed 37.8 in as the saddle top and the same method gives 0 at 5′10″ and 0 at 6′0″ (our calculation).
- Load: 150 kg[17]: 25 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider; too low for a 375 lb rider.
- Where it rides: 20 × 3.0 in: plus tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: inside the 500 W, 32 km/h line: 500 W, 32 km/h[17].
- Range and storage: about 46–65 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 31 kg[17], a ground-floor or ramp bike. Folds.
The honest part. On Samebike’s printed 960 mm seat height, 0 of 100 riders at 5′10″ reach the formula height; on its drawing, 75. Measure before you ride far.
Addmotor Citytri E-310
$1,899–$2,499 CADWho it is for. Tall riders who want three wheels on bike paths: order the Plus, which Addmotor sizes to 6′1″.
- Size: Addmotor sizes it 5′1″–5′9″ (Standard) and 5′3″–6′1″ (Plus)[18]. RedTail’s review gives no saddle verdict for this frame (its review[19]): the window is the maker’s figure.
- Load: 127 kg for the rider[18], with cargo rated on top: a 275 lb rider is inside it by 2 kg; a 375 lb rider is over it.
- Where it rides: 22 × 2.4 in front and 20 × 2.4 in rear on the Plus: regular tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: inside the 500 W, 32 km/h line: 500 W, 32 km/h[18].
- Range and storage: about 79–112 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 39 kg[18], a ground-floor or ramp bike. Folds.
The honest part. Addmotor sizes even the Plus only to 6′1″, and its 127 kg is a rider limit: a 275 lb rider leaves 2 kg.
Taubik Westridge 29T
$2,999 CADWho it is for. Riders who want 29-inch wheels and a front-suspension hardtail inside the city line.
- Size: Taubik’s page, read 30 October 2026, gives no rider height[20]. Not measured against riders.
- Load: 120 kg (Taubik’s manual; its page says 286 lb[21]): under a 275 lb rider before any gear.
- Where it rides: 29 × 2.4 in: regular tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: inside the 500 W, 32 km/h line: 500 W, 32 km/h[20].
- Range and storage: about 65–92 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 28.6 kg[20], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. Taubik’s page says 286 lb and its manual 120 kg, under a 275 lb rider; we plan on 120 kg. Nobody has measured its seat against riders either: send us your inseam first.
Taubik Blackburn 275T
$2,799–$3,199 CADWho it is for. A 27.5-inch hardtail inside the city line, with a second-battery option for longer days.
- Size: Taubik’s page, read 30 October 2026, gives no rider height[22]. Not measured against riders.
- Load: 120 kg (Taubik’s manual; its page says 286 lb[23]): under a 275 lb rider before any gear.
- Where it rides: 27.5 × 2.35 in: regular tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: inside the 500 W, 32 km/h line: 500 W, 32 km/h[22].
- Range and storage: about 66–93 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 31.5 kg[22], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. Taubik’s page says 286 lb and its manual 120 kg, under a 275 lb rider; we plan on 120 kg. Its spec table lists one 48 V 14.7 Ah battery; the Dual version adds a second.
Samebike 20LVXD30-II
$1,000 CADWho it is for. A light folder for riders up to 6′3″ on Samebike’s chart and under its 120 kg payload.
- Size: Samebike sizes it 5′1″–6′3″ on its size chart, as our listing transcribes it[24]. Not measured against riders.
- Load: 120 kg[25]: under a 275 lb rider before any gear.
- Where it rides: 20 × 1.95 in: regular tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: inside the 500 W, 32 km/h line: 350 W, 32 km/h[25].
- Range and storage: about 43–61 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 25 kg[25], a ground-floor or ramp bike. Folds.
The honest part. Its 120 kg payload is under a 275 lb rider, and 1.95-inch tires on 20-inch wheels are for pavement.

What Are the Best E-Bikes for Tall Riders on Trails and Private Land?
On the seat heights their makers print, the four bikes we sell that measure best at 6′0″ are all here or in the moped section, because each is over 500 W or its maker lists a faster or unlockable setting. On trails, gravel and private land the measured order is the Defender-S 2.0 19-inch (33 of 100 at 6′0″) and the Summit 2 Large (20), then bikes measured lower, at two readings, or not at all. A bike rated over 500 W is outside every provincial e-bike rule, so no province lets it ride roads, bike lanes or paths as an e-bike. For trail riding, check who sets access where you ride: a landowner, a trail authority or a park, and the off-road vehicle rules in your province.
Eunorau Defender-S 2.0 (19-inch)
$3,799 CADWho it is for. The best-measured bike we sell at 6′0″ on its maker’s printed seat height, for trails, snow and private land, on its 19-inch frame.
- Size: Eunorau sizes it 5′10″–6′4″ on the 19-inch frame[26]. Measured: the saddle reaches the formula height for 79 at 5′10″, 33 at 6′0″, 8 at 6′2″, 0 at 6′4″, out of 100 riders (RedTail’s fit tables[1]); inseam limit 34.5 in.
- Load: 136 kg[26]: 11 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider; too low for a 375 lb rider.
- Where it rides: 26 × 4.0 in: fat tires, full suspension. On the road: over the line: two 500 W hub motors, front and rear, assisted to 32 km/h as shipped; Eunorau lists a setting up to about 45 km/h[26]. Private land and trails where access allows.
- Range and storage: about 62–85 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 40.5 kg[26], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. Best measured on printed seat heights is still not most: at 6′0″, 33 in 100 riders reach the formula height and 70 come within 3%, so check your inseam against 34.5 in first.
Velotric Summit 2 (Large)
$3,399 CADWho it is for. The lightest of the four measured to fit at 6′0″ (26 kg): a hardtail for gravel and trail, in the Large.
- Size: Velotric sizes it 170–196 cm (5′7″–6′5″) on the Large[27]. Measured: the saddle reaches the formula height for 65 at 5′10″, 20 at 6′0″, 3 at 6′2″, 0 at 6′4″, out of 100 riders (RedTail’s fit tables[2]); inseam limit 34.1 in.
- Load: 171 kg (Velotric’s 200 kg less the bike[28]): 46 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider, 1 kg after 375 lb.
- Where it rides: 27.5 × 2.4 in: regular tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: over the line: 750 W, up to 45 km/h in a custom mode[27]. Private land and trails where access allows.
- Range and storage: about 73–104 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 26 kg[27], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. Velotric’s 200 kg counts the bike, so plan on 171 kg for you and your gear.
Eunorau Defender (19-inch)
$2,450 CADWho it is for. A full-suspension plus-tire bike, measured on the 19-inch frame at two readings.
- Size: Eunorau sizes it 5′3″–6′4″[30]. Measured: the saddle reaches the formula height for 35 at 5′10″, 8 at 6′0″, 0 at 6′2″, 0 at 6′4″, out of 100 riders (RedTail’s fit tables[29]); inseam limit 33.4 in. RedTail raises Eunorau’s one printed seat range for the 19-inch frame; read as printed, 0 at 5′10″ and 0 at 6′0″ (our calculation).
- Load: 136 kg[30]: 11 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider; too low for a 375 lb rider.
- Where it rides: 27.5 × 3.0 in: plus tires, full suspension. On the road: off our city list: Eunorau says riders can unlock the speed limit[30].
- Range and storage: about 57–79 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 29.9 kg[30], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. On Eunorau’s printed seat range, no rider at 6′0″ reaches the formula height. The 8 in 100 depends on RedTail’s adjustment.
Velotric Discover M (Large)
$3,899 CADWho it is for. A mid-drive step-through with Velotric’s tallest window, 175–201 cm on the Large.
- Size: Velotric sizes it 175–201 cm (5′9″–6′7″) on the Large[31]. RedTail’s review gives no saddle verdict for this frame (its review[32]): the window is the maker’s figure.
- Load: 173 kg (Velotric’s 200 kg less the bike[33]): 48 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider, 3 kg after 375 lb.
- Where it rides: 27.5 × 2.4 in: regular tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: off our city list: Velotric prints a speed range that reaches 45 km/h[31].
- Range and storage: about 67–96 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 27 kg[31], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. RedTail has no fit model for it, so its 6′7″ ceiling is Velotric’s figure alone.
Eunorau Urus 2.0
$5,700 CADWho it is for. A full-suspension trail bike with a torque-sensing mid-drive, for riders who set their own saddle.
- Size: Eunorau sizes it 5′3″–6′4″[35]. No top seat height is published; 96 of 100 riders at 5′10″ and 99 at 6′0″ need the saddle higher than the maker’s photo shows (RedTail’s fit section[34]).
- Load: 136 kg[35]: 11 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider; too low for a 375 lb rider.
- Where it rides: 27.5 × 2.8 in: plus tires, full suspension. On the road: off our city list: Eunorau lists its speed limit as unlockable[35].
- Range and storage: about 75–106 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 28 kg[35], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. Eunorau publishes no top seat height, so nobody can say how far the post rises.
Eunorau Meta 275 2.0
$2,295 CADWho it is for. A step-through commuter for riders up to 6′1″, its maker’s ceiling.
- Size: Eunorau sizes it 5′6″–6′1″[37]. No top seat height is published; 14 of 100 riders at 5′10″ and 55 at 6′0″ need the saddle higher than the maker’s photo shows (RedTail’s fit section[36]).
- Load: 130 kg[37]: 5 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider; too low for a 375 lb rider.
- Where it rides: 27.5 × 2.6 in: plus tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: off our city list: Eunorau lists its speed limit as unlockable[37].
- Range and storage: about 61–86 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 31 kg[37], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. Eunorau stops its window at 6′1″, the lowest ceiling in its Meta line; it is not a 6′2″ bike.
Taubik Westridge 4T
$3,599 CADWho it is for. A 4.8-inch fat tire for snow and sand off the road.
- Size: Taubik’s page, read 30 October 2026, gives no rider height[38]. Not measured against riders.
- Load: 130 kg (Taubik’s page; we have not read a manual for the Off-Road[38]): 5 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider; too low for a 375 lb rider.
- Where it rides: 26 × 4.8 in: fat tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: over the line: 1,000 W, 32 km/h[38]. Private land and trails where access allows.
- Range and storage: about 74–102 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 37.2 kg[38], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. At 37 kg on 4.8-inch tires it is slow work on pavement, and Taubik’s manuals for its other bikes, the Westridge 4T among them, print a 120 kg maximum load: ask us before you plan on more.
Freesky Ranger Plus M-540
$2,649 CADWho it is for. A dual-motor step-through fat tire whose maker prints a 5′3″–6′8″ window and a 41-inch seat.
- Size: Freesky sizes it 5′3″–6′8″[39]. RedTail’s review gives no saddle verdict for this frame (its review[40]): the window is the maker’s figure.
- Load: 181 kg[39]: 56 kg left for gear after a 275 lb rider, 11 kg after 375 lb.
- Where it rides: 26 × 4.0 in: fat tires, full suspension. On the road: over the line: two 2,500 W-peak hub motors, 64 km/h, 40 mph[39]. Private land and trails where access allows.
- Range and storage: range not computed (no rated wattage printed); 43.1 kg[39], a ground-floor or ramp bike.
The honest part. RedTail reviewed it with no fit model, so the 6′8″ is Freesky’s figure; 43 kg and two motors.
Takeaway
For a 6′0″ trail rider, start with the Defender-S 2.0 on its 19-inch frame or the Summit 2 Large. Above 6′1″, check your inseam against their limits of 34.5 and 34.1 in first.
Which Moped-Style E-Bikes Fit Tall Riders?
A moped-style bike fits a tall rider differently: you sit on a bench, often with your feet flat at a stop, and ride mostly on the throttle. Most here have one seat height that does not rise, so pedalling will feel cramped. Two are the exception, with seat posts measured by RedTail: the Juliet Pro II (18 of 100 at 6′0″) and the X5 AWD (17). All ten are over our city line: each maker lists more than 500 W, a mode above 32 km/h or a speed limit that can be adjusted, so we list them for private land, not for roads and bike paths. Our guide to electric mopeds in Canada covers the licence and registration side.

What Are the Best Electric Trikes for Tall Riders?
The trike inside the city line is the Citytri E-310 Plus, in the city section above, sized to 6′1″ by Addmotor. The four below are bigger: our listings rate the Addmotor motors at 750 W, Addmotor’s US figure (Addmotor Canada’s pages, read 30 October 2026, list no rated wattage), and Meigi lists 750 W for the Blazer, so all four are over the line. Two are semi-recumbent: you sit back with your legs forward, so RedTail’s saddle test gives no verdict and the maker’s window is all there is. Our electric trikes guide matches all 18 trikes we sell to place, load and size.
Addmotor Grandtan X
$4,499 CADWho it is for. A full-suspension fat-tire trike whose fit depends on how its maker’s seat figure is read.

- Range and storage: about 65–89 km for a 275 lb rider in the cold riding months (our calculation, method); 58 kg[58], a ground-floor or ramp bike.

- Where it rides: 20 × 4.0 in: fat tires, a front suspension fork. On the road: over the line: 750 W on our listing, Addmotor’s US rating (Addmotor Canada’s page lists no rated wattage), 32 km/h[62]. Private land and trails where access allows.

How Far Will a Tall Rider Get, and in Which Months?
Range falls as rider weight rises and the air cools, so every range on this page is computed for a 275 lb rider (the median weight tall riders state in the forum threads we read) in each city’s coldest riding month, pedalling lightly at 25 km/h on flat ground with 15% of the battery kept in reserve. It is a calculation, not a ride. We count a riding month as one whose average daily high is at least 5 °C with fewer than five days of snow on the ground, and a snow month as one with ten or more such days, from Environment Canada’s 1991–2020 normals[5].
| City | Riding months | Coldest riding month, daily mean | Snow months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vancouver | All year | Dec, 3.9 °C | None |
| Calgary | Apr–Oct | Apr, 4.5 °C | Nov–Mar |
| Edmonton | May–Oct | Oct, 3.4 °C | Nov–Mar |
| Winnipeg | Apr–Oct | Apr, 3.8 °C | Dec–Mar |
| Toronto | Apr–Nov | Nov, 4.1 °C | Dec–Mar |
| Ottawa | Apr–Oct | Apr, 5.9 °C | Dec–Mar |
| Montréal | Apr–Nov | Nov, 2.3 °C | Dec–Mar |
| Halifax | Apr–Nov | Nov, 3.8 °C | Dec–Mar |
Vancouver rides all year. Edmonton has the shortest season here (May to October), and Montréal’s November (a 2.3 °C daily mean) is the coldest riding month. For riding on snow, the fat-tire bikes on this page (3.5 inches and wider) are the ones built for it[9]; 15 of our 28 picks are fat-tire, and RS-A02 Pro is the only one inside the city line. Our winter e-bike guide covers batteries in the cold.
Takeaway
Read the low end of each range as your cold-month figure: a tall, heavy rider in Montréal in November or Edmonton in October gets the bottom of the band, not the maker’s claim.
Which E-Bikes Carry Big and Tall Riders?
For a big and tall rider, the load rating decides before the frame does. Of the 28 tall riders who stated their weight in the r/ebikes threads we read in October, the median was 275 lb (125 kg) and the heaviest 375 lb (170 kg). The table takes each maker’s load figure, the lower one where a maker prints two, and subtracts the rider. Seven of the 28 carry a 375 lb rider at all, and three cannot carry a 275 lb rider: the 20LVXD30-II, Westridge 29T and Blackburn 275T.

Makers count different things: Velotric’s 200 kg includes the bike[2], Addmotor’s 127 kg on its trikes is the rider alone, with cargo rated on top, and Taubik’s pages say 286 lb where its manuals say 120 kg[21]. Our heavy-riders guide ranks e-bikes by load first.
What Should Older Tall Riders Look For?
RedTail’s seniors guide asks four questions, and three of them change a tall rider’s choice[67]. Do you trust your balance at a standstill? If not, three wheels remove the moment that catches riders, which points to the Citytri E-310 Plus, the Grandtan X and the two semi-recumbent Addmotors. Can you handle the bike with the power off? Every pick here is over the 23 kg lifting limit[68], and the moped-style bikes weigh 40.8 to 93 kg. Does the assist arrive gently? A torque sensor answers how hard you press; several makers here list one, including on the Grandtan X[58], the Urus 2.0[35] and the Discover M, which also has a thumb throttle for the first turn of the pedals[31].
Our guide to e-bikes for seniors covers trikes and step-throughs in more depth.
Three Bikes We Checked That Measure Short for Tall Riders
These three were on the list we started from, and we checked them for this guide. On RedTail’s measurement their saddles stop low: few riders at 5′10″ reach the formula height and almost none at 6′0″. They are good bikes for shorter riders, so we list the numbers rather than leave them out.
| Bike | Maker’s window | Riders in 100 reaching the formula height | Inseam limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eunorau Fat-HS (19-inch) | 5′3″–6′4″ | 22 at 5′10″, 5 at 6′0″, 0 at 6′2″ (RedTail) | 33.1 in |
| Freesky Alaska Pro M-520 | 5′6″–6′8″ | 10 at 5′10″, 1 at 6′0″, 0 at 6′2″ (RedTail) | 32.5 in |
| Eunorau Specter-S 4.0 (16- and 18-inch) | 5′3″–6′3″ | (RedTail) | None in |
If your inseam is under the limit in the last column, the bike can still fit you; the window above it is the maker’s claim.
Will a Longer Seatpost or an Adjustable Stem Make a Small E-Bike Fit?
Only a little. A longer seatpost raises the saddle and an adjustable or riser stem raises the bars, but neither changes the frame’s reach or step-over, as RedTail’s tall-rider guide sets out[8]. Never raise a post past the minimum-insertion line marked on it. Start from a bike whose measured fit or inseam limit already covers you, then use the cheap parts to fine-tune it, and call us before you buy parts for a frame that is too small.
Questions Tall Riders Ask About E-Bikes
What is the best e-bike for a tall person in Canada?
At 6′0″, on the seat heights their makers print, the bikes we sell that measure best are the Eunorau Defender-S 2.0 on its 19-inch frame (33 of 100 riders reach the formula saddle height), the Velotric Summit 2 Large (20), the Eahora Juliet Pro II (18) and the Tesway X5 AWD (17), on RedTail’s measurements; none of the four is on our city list. For roads and bike paths, the Samebike RS-A02 Pro and CY20 Pro measure well on Samebike’s drawing and poorly on its printed seat height, so call us before you order either.
What size e-bike does a 6-foot man need?
One whose saddle reaches about 109% of your inseam from the pedal axle. The median 6′0″ inseam in the ANSUR II survey is 34.9 in. Compare your inseam with each bike’s inseam limit on this page: the Defender-S 2.0 19-inch reaches the formula height up to 34.5 in, the Summit 2 Large up to 34.1 in.
What e-bike fits a 6′4″ rider?
None of the bikes we sell was measured to give most 6′4″ riders a full-height saddle; the best measured share at 6′4″ is 3 in 100, on the saddles drawn for the RS-A02 Pro and the Grandtan X. The median 6′4″ inseam is 37.6 in, longer than every inseam limit on this page (the longest, 35.9 in, is the RS-A02 Pro’s drawn reading). At 6′4″, buy by inseam, and call us before you order.
Is there a height limit on e-bikes?
Each maker prints a rider-height window, and the windows of our picks run from 6′1″ to 7′9″ at the top. The real limit is the saddle: once the post is at its top, a longer inseam cannot reach the formula height. That is the inseam limit printed on this page.
What is the best e-bike for big and tall riders?
Check the load before the frame. The Tesway X5 AWD and Freesky Ranger Plus carry 181 kg, and the Romeo Pro II 2026 and Romeo Pro III 227 kg on Eahora’s pages; 3 of our 28 picks cannot carry a 275 lb rider. Our heavy-riders guide ranks bikes by load.
Do fat-tire e-bikes fit tall riders?
Some do. The Defender-S 2.0 (19-inch) and the X5 AWD are fat-tire bikes measured to fit about a third and a sixth of 6′0″ riders; the Eunorau Fat-HS, Freesky Alaska Pro and Specter-S 4.0 measure short. Tire width does not set fit; the seat post does.
Which folding e-bike fits a tall rider?
The Samebike RS-A02 Pro and CY20 Pro are the folders measured for tall riders: 85 and 30 of 100 at 6′0″ on the saddle Samebike draws, 0 on the seat height it prints. The 20LVXD30-II is sized to 6′3″ by Samebike’s chart and has not been measured.
Which moped-style e-bike is best for a tall rider?
The Eahora Juliet Pro II, whose post rises to 40.2 in: 18 of 100 riders at 6′0″ reach the formula height. Most moped-style bikes have one fixed seat height, which suits sitting with flat feet more than pedalling.
What is the best e-bike for a tall woman?
The same as for a tall man of the same inseam: RedTail’s fit tables pool women and men from the ANSUR II survey. Measure your inseam and compare it with the inseam limits on this page.
Will a longer seatpost fix an e-bike that is too small?
It can raise the saddle a little, but it does not change the frame’s reach or step-over, and a post must never rise past its minimum-insertion line. Start from a bike that already fits your inseam.
The Bottom Line
For tall riders, the seat post is the whole story. At 6′0″, on the seat heights their makers print, the Defender-S 2.0 on its 19-inch frame and the Summit 2 Large are the best measured bikes we sell, both for trails and private land; for roads and bike paths, the RS-A02 Pro and CY20 Pro may fit, depending on which of Samebike’s seat figures is right. From 6′2″ up, buy by your inseam.
