Warranty
Zeus eBikes Warranty Policy
Effective July 21, 2026
Every e-bike sold by Zeus Ebikes Inc. includes a complimentary 1-month Zeus limited warranty plus the manufacturer's warranty (typically 1–2 years, depending on the brand) covering verified manufacturing defects. You never chase a manufacturer alone — we manage the claim on your behalf, from first email to replacement part at your door.
What Your Warranty Gives You
- 1-month Zeus limited warranty on every e-bike, from the day you receive it
- Manufacturer warranty coverage for verified manufacturing defects — terms vary by brand, and we manage the entire claim for you
- One month of unlimited free support — remote diagnostics, assembly walkthroughs, and maintenance guidance by phone, email, or video, from the day your bike arrives
Support: Free for Your First Month
Every Zeus e-bike includes one month of unlimited free support from the day you receive it. Use it — set up your bike right, learn the monthly maintenance check, and ask us anything. After your first month:
- Zeus Extended Warranty holders continue receiving unlimited support at no charge for the full term of their plan, with priority response. This is the core value of the plan.
- All other customers can book a Zeus Tech Session — a scheduled, paid remote diagnostic with our team. The session fee is credited toward any replacement part you order from Zeus during your session, so if your bike needs a part, the diagnosis effectively costs you nothing.
- Safety concerns are always answered at no charge. If you believe your bike has a safety issue — brakes, battery, charger — contact us immediately, plan or no plan.
- Processing a verified manufacturing-defect claim under an active warranty (Zeus 1-month, manufacturer, or extended plan) is never charged.

The sections below explain exactly where warranty coverage ends. We publish this in plain language because clear expectations before you buy beat surprises after — please read it before your first ride, especially the assembly section.
Wear-and-Tear & Consumable Parts — Not Covered
The following parts wear through normal use and are not covered under the Zeus 1-month limited warranty or any Zeus extended warranty plan, regardless of how few kilometres the bike has travelled:
- Pedals and pedal threads
- Cranks, crank arms, and chainrings
- Suspension components — front forks, rear shocks, and suspension seatposts (including loss of damping, seal wear, and adjustment)
- Tires, inner tubes, rims, and spokes (including wheel truing)
- Brake pads, rotors/discs, and brake/shifter cables and housings
- Chains, cassettes, freehubs, and derailleur adjustments
- Grips, saddles, bearings, kickstands, fenders, and all rubber and plastic parts
- Cosmetic damage — scratches, dents, paint, and decals
Manufacturing defects are different from wear. If a part is defective on arrival or fails from a verified manufacturing defect within the manufacturer's warranty window, we will manage that claim with the manufacturer as normal. A pedal that strips after riding, a bent crank from an impact, or a shock that softens with use is wear — not a defect.
Assembly & Installation Are the Owner's Responsibility
Zeus eBikes ship partially assembled. Final assembly — including pedals, handlebar, front wheel, and accessories — must be completed correctly before the first ride, either by you following the included instructions or by a qualified bike mechanic.
- Pedals are the most common installation error. The left pedal is reverse-threaded. Pedals must be threaded in the correct direction and fully tightened. A pedal that comes loose or strips after riding was not installed correctly — this is an installation issue, not a defect, and is not covered.
- Damage or injury resulting from incorrect assembly, under-tightened hardware, or skipped pre-ride checks is not covered under any Zeus warranty.
- Not sure? Call us before your first ride: 1-866-938-7580. Assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are included in your first month of free support. We would much rather spend 15 minutes on the phone than have you ride an incorrectly assembled bike.
Ongoing Maintenance Is the Owner's Responsibility
Every bicycle — electric or not — requires routine maintenance. Nuts, bolts, axles, and quick-releases loosen gradually through normal riding vibration. Keeping them tightened is basic ownership, not a warranty matter.
- Check your hardware at least monthly, and before any long ride: wheel axle nuts/quick-releases, stem and handlebar bolts, seatpost clamp, pedal tightness, and brake function. This takes five minutes.
- A wheel, handlebar, or component that comes loose weeks or months into ownership — including a front wheel detaching after months of riding — is the result of missed maintenance checks, not a manufacturing defect, and is not covered. This applies regardless of who has been riding the bike; the owner is responsible for its maintenance.
- Failures caused by lack of maintenance — loose hardware, dry or rusted chains, worn-out brake pads left unreplaced, improper tire pressure — are not covered under any Zeus warranty.
- Not sure how to do the monthly check? Call us at 1-866-938-7580 during your first month and we will walk you through it as part of your free support — after that, it is covered for extended warranty holders or through a Zeus Tech Session.
Modifications Void Coverage on the Affected System
Any non-original part or alteration — including but not limited to aftermarket throttles, controllers, batteries, chargers, motor tuning, speed derestriction ("delimiting"), or firmware changes — immediately voids warranty coverage on every system it connects to.
- Example: installing an aftermarket throttle voids coverage on the controller, wiring harness, display, and motor. A burned controller with a non-original throttle attached is a modification failure, not a warranty claim.
- Modified electrical systems are also a fire and safety risk and may make the bike illegal to ride as a power-assisted bicycle in your province.
- If an inspected bike shows non-original electrical parts, tuning, or derestriction, the related claim will be declined and documented.
Warranty Covers Defects — Not Damage. Kilometres Are Not the Measure.
Low mileage is not evidence of a defect. Coverage is determined by what caused the failure, not by how far the bike has travelled. Fifteen kilometres of downhill trail, curb hops, or riding above the rated payload can do more damage than 1,500 km of paved commuting — and damage from use is not a defect.
- A manufacturing defect exists from day one and shows up as a failure with no impact, overload, water ingress, or misuse behind it. That is covered through the manufacturer's warranty, which we manage for you.
- Bent cranks, dented rims, blown shocks, stripped pedals, and snapped derailleur hangers are impact or overload damage at any mileage — not covered at 15 km, not covered at 5,000 km.
- When assessing a claim, we look at the physical evidence on the part — not the odometer.
Parked & Unattended Damage Is Not a Defect
Damage discovered after a bike was left parked or unattended — a broken kickstand, bent brake lever, scratched frame, cracked fender, or bent rotor — is tip-over, impact, or third-party damage, not a manufacturing defect, and is not covered.
- A kickstand holds a stationary bike upright on firm, level ground. A snapped kickstand is almost always the result of a tip-over, soft or sloped ground, wind, weight on the parked bike, or the bike being knocked over.
- Zeus warranties do not cover theft, vandalism, weather damage, or damage caused by other people or vehicles while the bike is parked. That is what home, tenant, or dedicated e-bike insurance is for.
Labour and Shop Charges Are Never Covered
Zeus warranties cover parts only. We do not pay, reimburse, or credit labour charges of any kind — no exceptions.
- Bike shop repair bills, mobile mechanic fees, diagnostic charges, assembly charges, and installation labour for warranty replacement parts are all the owner's responsibility.
- This applies even when the part itself is covered: if a defective part is approved under warranty, we supply the replacement part — installing it is up to you or your local shop, at your cost.
- A third-party shop cannot authorize a warranty claim or spend money on our behalf. A repair invoice from a shop — whatever it says about the cause — is not a warranty claim and will not be reimbursed. All claims start with us, with photos, before any repair work is done.
- Remote diagnostic help is free during your first month of ownership and unlimited for Zeus Extended Warranty holders. Outside those windows, book a Zeus Tech Session — the fee is credited toward any part you order from Zeus during the session. Most problems are identified in one call.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
- Stop riding the bike and do not have any repair work done.
- To initiate a warranty claim, contact support from the email address you placed the order with. This is how we verify you as the original purchaser and connect your claim to your order instantly. Writing in from a different address — or from multiple accounts — will not help your case; it only slows verification down. If you no longer have access to your original email account, call us at 1-866-938-7580 with proof of purchase and we will verify you by phone.
- Email support@zeusebikes.ca with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos (or video) of the affected part. Claims cannot be assessed without photos.
- We assess the physical evidence, and for manufacturer-covered defects we manage the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf.
- If approved, the replacement part is shipped to you. Installation labour is the owner's responsibility.

Warranty Questions, Answered
Are pedals, cranks, or shocks covered under the Zeus warranty?
No. Pedals, cranks, crank arms, chainrings, and all suspension components (front forks, rear shocks, suspension seatposts) are wear-and-tear parts and are not covered under the Zeus 1-month warranty or any extended plan. A part that is defective on arrival is different — report it immediately and we will handle it as a manufacturer defect claim.
My e-bike has very low kilometres — is the damage covered?
Kilometres are not the measure; the cause of the failure is. A manufacturing defect is covered at any mileage, and impact or overload damage is not covered at any mileage. Fifteen kilometres of downhill trail can do more damage than 1,500 km of paved commuting, so we assess the physical evidence on the part itself, never the odometer.
My bike was damaged while it was parked. Is that covered?
No. Damage discovered after a bike was left parked or unattended — a broken kickstand, bent lever, or scratched frame — is tip-over, impact, or third-party damage, not a manufacturing defect. Theft, vandalism, and weather damage are also not covered; home, tenant, or dedicated e-bike insurance is the right protection for a parked bike.
Will Zeus pay my local bike shop's repair bill?
No. Zeus warranties cover parts only — never labour, diagnostics, or shop charges, and a third-party shop cannot authorize a warranty claim on our behalf. Always contact us with photos before any repair work is done. Remote diagnostic support is free during your first month of ownership and for extended warranty holders; after that, it is available as a paid Zeus Tech Session with the fee credited toward parts.
How do I start a warranty claim?
Email support@zeusebikes.ca from the email address you placed your order with, including your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos or video of the affected part. Contacting us from your original order email verifies you instantly as the purchaser; writing from other accounts only slows verification down.
Do I have to install my own e-bike?
Zeus e-bikes ship partially assembled, and final assembly — pedals, handlebar, front wheel, accessories — is the owner's responsibility. If you are unsure about any step, call us at 1-866-938-7580 before your first ride — assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are included in your first month of free support. The left pedal is reverse-threaded — this is the most common installation error.
Is Zeus support free?
Your first month of ownership includes unlimited free support — diagnostics, assembly help, and maintenance guidance. After that, support is unlimited and free for Zeus Extended Warranty holders for their full plan term, or available to everyone else as a paid Zeus Tech Session, with the session fee credited toward any part you order from Zeus. Safety concerns are always answered at no charge, and processing a verified defect claim under an active warranty is never billed.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable provincial consumer protection legislation.
