Samebike CY20 Pro Folding Commuter E-Bike
Samebike CY20 Pro: a 500 W Folding Step-Thru with a 624 Wh Battery
The Samebike CY20 Pro is a 20-inch folding step-through e-bike with a 500 W brushless gear motor in the rear wheel (50+ N·m), a removable, seat-integrated 48 V 13 Ah battery (624 Wh), 20 × 3.0″ tires, a front suspension fork and seat suspension, 160 mm mechanical disc brakes, a Shimano 7-speed, a thumb throttle and a colour display that connects to Samebike’s app. Samebike Canada lists a 32 km/h top speed (25 km/h by default), 50–100 km of range, a 150 kg maximum load and a 31 kg (68.3 lb) bike that folds twice to 88 × 49 × 70 cm. A front basket and an 8-in-1 kit come with it.
Samebike calls it “the upgraded version of the CY20 model”, and we sell both: next to our CY20, the CY20 Pro adds 150 W of motor, 156 Wh of battery, wider tires and the app, and weighs 3 kg more. Fit goes by the saddle. Our US sister store, RedTail eBikes, measured this frame on Samebike’s own size-and-fit photograph and set it against 6,068 measured bodies: anyone from 4′11″ up can step through it, and the saddle suits riders of about 5′2″ to 5′10″ best (RedTail’s CY20 Pro review). Samebike’s chart says 4′9″ to 6′9″.
Who it suits: commuters who want a folder with a 500 W motor and a throttle for hills, a 150 kg rating for rider and cargo, and a bike that folds into a car trunk. It is not light: 31 kg.

⚠️ Canadian legal note
Canada’s federal e-bike definition was repealed in 2021, and the rules are now provincial: they converge on a motor of 500 W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026) and working pedals. Provinces also set their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules.
Samebike Canada lists the CY20 Pro at 500 W and a 32 km/h top speed, with 25 km/h as the default setting: at the limits the provincial rules converge on. The owner can change the speed setting (Samebike’s manual); keep it at 32 km/h or below. Questions about the settings: 1-866-938-7580. Check your province for age, helmet and throttle rules. Samebike CY20 Pro Size Chart: Measured Fit, Seat Height and Every Dimension
Samebike publishes the CY20 Pro’s fit on its Canadian page as a Size & Fit chart, a pop-up and a specification tab, and its manual prints a specification table; we read them all on 29 October 2026. Our US sister store, RedTail eBikes, went further: it measured this frame in Samebike’s size-and-fit photograph and set it against all 6,068 bodies in the US Army’s 2012 anthropometric survey, so the first rows below come from measurement, not from a maker’s window.
Will the CY20 Pro fit you? Measured first, then Samebike’s numbers
Measured fit (RedTail eBikes): stepping through is easy for everyone from 4′11″ up, because the frame’s low point is 15.2″ (38.6 cm) off the ground. The saddle suits riders of about 5′2″ to 5′10″ best: at 5′4″, 99 of 100 riders can set it to RedTail’s formula height (109% of inseam); at 5′8″, 96; at 5′10″, 75; at 6′0″, 30 (67 at a slightly lower 106%); at 5′0″, 41. RedTail’s fit tables →
Samebike’s numbers: recommended rider height 4′9″–6′9″ on Samebike Canada’s chart, and a seat height of 800–960 mm (31.5–37.8″). On Samebike’s photograph, RedTail measures the saddle top at 35.7–41.8″ (91–106 cm) from the ground, and the seat clamp at 32.4–38.2″.
Bike weight: 31 kg (68.3 lb on the chart, 68 lb in the manual). Maximum load: 150 kg (330 lb), rider plus cargo, on Samebike Canada’s page, chart and manual.

How to Check the Fit Before You Order
- Find your row in the measured table above. Between about 5′2″ and 5′10″ most riders can set the saddle to a full pedalling height. At 6′0″ it is 30 of 100 at RedTail’s formula height, because the saddle top stops at 41.8″; at 5′0″ it is 41 of 100, because the lowest setting is high for many shorter riders.
- Measure your inseam barefoot against a wall, with a hardcover book pressed up between your legs where a saddle would sit; the book’s top edge, measured from the floor, is your number (RedTail’s method). Send it to us with your height and we will check it against the saddle range before you order: 1-866-938-7580.
- Plan for the lift. 31 kg: 3 kg more than the CY20 and 6 kg more than the 20LVXD30-II. The battery comes out for charging, so take it off before you lift the bike.
- Check where it will live folded: 88 × 49 × 70 cm without the basket (85 cm tall with it), on Samebike Canada’s figures; Samebike says it “could be folded for easy storage in a car trunk”.

Why the CY20 Pro Stands Apart in Our Samebike Line
Samebike calls the CY20 Pro “the upgraded version of the CY20 model”: the same 150 kg rating on a folding step-thru, with a 500 W motor instead of 350 W, a 624 Wh battery instead of 468 Wh and 3-inch tires instead of 2.35-inch.
- The LOTDM200-II’s motor and battery with a higher rating. Both list 500 W and a 48 V 13 Ah (624 Wh) battery on Samebike Canada’s spec tabs; the CY20 Pro is rated 150 kg for rider and cargo, 30 kg more than the LOTDM200-II’s 120 kg.
- 3-inch tires on spoked 20-inch wheels, between the CY20’s 2.35-inch and the 4-inch fat tires on the LOTDM200-II, with reflective strips on the tire edges.
- An app and a colour display. Samebike Canada lists “Smart App connection”, and the manual’s display has a Bluetooth module for the Samebike app: speed, trip and battery data, the assist level and a headlight switch.
- The trade-off is weight: 31 kg, 3 kg more than the CY20 and the LOTDM200-II (28 kg each) and 6 kg more than the 20LVXD30-II (25 kg) on Samebike Canada’s figures.
What’s in the Box
- The bike, its battery charger and Samebike’s tools (three large wrenches, five Allen wrenches and a screwdriver): the box contents on the unpacking page of Samebike’s CY20 Pro manual.
- To fit at assembly, in the manual’s order: the handlebar, the basket and front lights, the rear seat cushion, the headlight and fenders, the saddle, the pedals and the front wheel. Samebike’s installation tutorial is above, and your first month of Zeus Care includes assembly walkthroughs by phone or video.
- A front basket and an 8-in-1 multi-functional kit, the free accessories Samebike Canada’s page includes with the CY20 Pro. They ship with your order.
Samebike’s page: “All free Accessories are not covered by warranty service”.
Key Features
- 500 W brushless gear hub motor, 50+ N·m — Samebike Canada: “Hidden inside the 20-inch rear wheel is a 500W brushless gear motor”. Its manual gives a 25° maximum climb. Five pedal-assist levels, and a thumb throttle that Samebike says “provides full electric drive”.
- Removable 48 V 13 Ah battery (624 Wh) — “seat-integrated” and “effortlessly removed for home charging”, in Samebike’s words, and the manual shows it charging on the bike or off it: 4–6 hours on Samebike Canada’s spec tab, 6–8 hours in the manual, from a 54.6 V, 2 A charger. Battery care in Canada →
- 20 × 3.0″ tires on spoked wheels — wider than the CY20’s 2.35-inch. Samebike says the “thickened and widened tires are more resistant to punctures”, with “fluorescent reflective strips” on the tire edges. Folding e-bikes in Canada →
- Front suspension fork plus seat suspension — Samebike: “dual suspension provides riders on CY20 Pro a comfortable ride in rough or uneven conditions”. A lengthened, thickened seat cushion sits on the rear rack.
- 160 mm mechanical disc brakes front and rear, and a Shimano 7-speed.
- Colour display and the Samebike app — the display shows speed, battery, distance and the five assist levels, and its Bluetooth module connects the Samebike app, which the manual shows with ride data, the assist level, a headlight switch and a route mode. The display also has cruise, a 6 km/h walk-assist (“boost”) mode and a lock icon.
- Lights, horn and reflectors — front and rear LED lights (Samebike Canada), wheel reflectors (Samebike’s Canadian warehouse spec sheet) and an electric horn (manual).
- Folds twice, for a car trunk — “CY20 Pro can be double-folded and easy to carry” (Samebike Canada): 88 × 49 × 70 cm without the basket. High-carbon steel frame; IP54 for the whole bike, motor, battery and display included, in Samebike’s FAQ and manual.
The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy
- It is heavy for a folder. 31 kg (68.3 lb): 3 kg more than our CY20 and the LOTDM200-II, and 6 kg more than the 20LVXD30-II. Take the battery out before you lift it into a trunk.
- Samebike’s 4′9″–6′9″ window is wider than the measured fit. RedTail’s measurement puts the saddle’s best range at about 5′2″–5′10″: at 6′0″, 30 of 100 riders reach their formula saddle height (67 at a slightly lower setting), and at 5′0″, 41. Send us your inseam and we will check it.
- Do not count on a phone mount or USB charging. Samebike Canada’s page mentions both, but the CY20 Pro manual’s parts list shows neither, Samebike’s Canadian warehouse spec sheet says “Mobile phone holder: No”, and its UK spec tab says “USB Charger: No”. Plan on your own mount and power bank.
If those suit how you ride (a folding step-thru with 500 W, 624 Wh and a 150 kg rating, at 31 kg), the CY20 Pro gives you the CY20’s fold with the LOTDM200-II’s motor and battery.

Warranty and Zeus Care
Your Samebike CY20 Pro is backed by Samebike in full, on Samebike Canada’s own published terms (read 29 October 2026): the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year, for the original owner, from the day the original owner receives the bike. Samebike describes the battery cover as a 1-year prorated warranty, and a frame claim covers a replacement frame only (labour to move parts across is not included). Free parts that come with the bike are not covered, and neither is a stolen bike. Samebike’s product page for this bike also prints “12 Months Warranty” (“our manufacturer’s 12 months warranty for the original owner against all manufacturing defects”); its warranty policy is the longer of the two for the frame.
Not covered, in Samebike’s words: damage from accident, abuse, misuse or abnormal use, improper storage, exposure to liquid or chemicals, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, and damage from assembly, maintenance or repair that varies from Samebike’s instructions.
Zeus handles the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim and follow it up, and assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are part of it. Zeus Care plans continue that service for $119 (1 year), $229 (2 years), $339 (3 years) or $599 (5 years); Zeus Care is a service, not a warranty, and does not add coverage (prices in CAD, October 2026). What height rider does the Samebike CY20 Pro fit?
Measured, the saddle suits riders of about 5′2″ to 5′10″ best, and anyone from 4′11″ up can step through. Our US sister store, RedTail eBikes, set this frame against all 6,068 bodies in the US Army’s 2012 anthropometric survey: at 5′4″, 99 of 100 riders can set the saddle to its formula height, 96 at 5′8″, 75 at 5′10″, 30 at 6′0″ and 41 at 5′0″; the frame’s low point is 15.2″ (38.6 cm) (RedTail’s fit tables). Samebike’s chart says 4′9″–6′9″. Send us your inseam and height and we will check them: 1-866-938-7580. Full size chart →
How much does the CY20 Pro weigh, and how much can it carry?
31 kg on Samebike Canada’s spec tab (68.3 lb on its chart, 68 lb in its manual). The maximum load is 150 kg (330 lb), rider plus cargo, on the Canadian page, chart and manual. Boxed, it ships at 37 kg in a 1420 × 230 × 645 mm carton, per the manual.
How far does the CY20 Pro go on a charge?
Samebike Canada gives 50–100 km: up to 100 km in pedal-assist level 1 with a 75 kg rider on a flat road, and “over 50km” in mild electric mode. Its manual gives about 60–70 km with pedal assist and 30–35 km on the throttle alone. Our US sister store, RedTail eBikes, computed this bike’s range for an 82 kg (180 lb) rider on level pavement: about 63 km at 24 km/h on the throttle, about 50 km at 29 km/h, and about 98 km at 24 km/h with easy pedalling. Those are model results, not a road test, and the kilometres are our conversion from RedTail’s miles (RedTail’s range tables). For hills, wind and cold we plan on 21–42 km: the battery’s 624 Wh divided by 30 for a hard day and by 15 for an easy one. That is our estimate, not Samebike’s. How we plan range →
Is the battery removable, and how long does it take to charge?
Yes: Samebike describes a “seat-integrated portable battery” that “can be effortlessly removed for home charging”, and the manual shows two ways to charge it, on the bike or off it. Samebike Canada’s spec tab gives 4–6 hours and the manual 6–8 hours, from a 54.6 V, 2 A charger. For a spare or replacement battery, call us at 1-866-938-7580. Battery care in the cold →
Is the CY20 Pro legal in Canada, and what is its top speed?
Samebike Canada lists 500 W and a 32 km/h top speed, with 25 km/h as the default setting: at the limits the provincial rules converge on (a motor of 500 W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h, and working pedals). The owner can change the speed setting (Samebike’s manual); keep it at 32 km/h or below, because a bike that assists past 32 km/h is outside those limits. Provinces add their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules. Canadian e-bike laws →
Will the CY20 Pro fit in my car trunk, and how does it fold?
Samebike says it “could be folded for easy storage in a car trunk”: folded, it measures 88 × 49 × 70 cm without the basket and 85 cm tall with it. In the manual’s folding steps you fold the handlebar, then open the folding buckle and fold the frame. Measure your trunk against those figures, and plan on 31 kg to lift.
Can I ride the CY20 Pro in the rain?
Samebike’s own answer is to avoid heavy rain, which it says “may affect battery life and reduce traction”. It rates the entire bike IP54, “including the motor, battery and display”, in its FAQ, and the manual says IP54 too.
Does the CY20 Pro have an app?
Yes. Samebike Canada lists “Smart App connection”, and the manual’s colour display has a Bluetooth module for the Samebike app, which shows your speed with trip, battery and odometer data, lets you change the assist level and switch the headlight, and has a route mode. Without the app, the display shows speed, battery, distance and the five assist levels.
Are there reviews of the Samebike CY20 Pro?
Our US sister store, RedTail eBikes, reviewed this version from Samebike’s specifications, with measured fit and computed range: RedTail’s Samebike CY20 Pro review. Samebike’s US page calls it the CY20 Pro Spoked Wheel, and Samebike Canada sells it under the same item codes. Samebike Canada’s page shows 2 reviews averaging 5.0. For an independent video of the same version, Trent In The Sip posted “SAMEBIKE CY20 Pro Electric Bike Review” on YouTube in July 2026.
Where can I find the CY20 Pro manual, and how hard is assembly?
Samebike publishes it as a PDF: CY20 Pro user manual → It covers unpacking and specifications, the assembly steps (handlebar, basket and front lights, rear seat cushion, headlight and fenders, saddle, pedals, battery and front wheel), charging, folding, the display and the app. Samebike’s installation tutorial is on this page, and your first month of Zeus Care includes assembly walkthroughs by phone or video: 1-866-938-7580.
What warranty comes with the CY20 Pro?
Samebike backs the CY20 Pro in full on Samebike Canada’s published terms: its warranty policy covers the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year (the battery on a prorated basis), and its product page says 12 months; for the original owner. Zeus files and follows up the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included. Warranty details →

Can I ride the CY20 Pro in winter?
For lithium-ion cells, Battery University’s BU-410 table permits discharge, which is riding, from −20 °C to 60 °C and charging only from 0 °C to 45 °C: “No charge permitted below freezing.” Samebike’s French store, on its spare-battery page, says to charge the battery only indoors, in a dry place, neither too hot nor too cold (our translation). So bring the battery inside after a cold ride and let it warm up before you charge it. Cold also shortens range: our US sister store, RedTail eBikes, computes about 50 km at 0 °C and 45 km at −10 °C for this bike, against 63 km at 25 °C (24 km/h on the throttle, 82 kg rider, level pavement; our conversion from miles; RedTail’s cold-weather table).
