Samebike RS-A01 Pro-T Step-Thru Commuter Electric Bike (Pre-Order, Ships out end of July, 2026)
The Simple, Light, Legal-Everywhere Commuter — With Every Accessory Already in the Box
Most entry-level eBikes hand you a bare bike and a list of things you still need to buy. The Samebike RS-A01 Pro-T takes the opposite approach: a 500W hub motor, a 36V 15Ah (540 Wh) hidden removable battery, a genuine step-through frame, and the full accessory set — front basket, rear rack, fenders, and Samebike’s 8-in-1 multi-functional kit — included free with every Zeus order, the same bundle the manufacturer offers. Nothing left to add. Nothing left to bolt on.
At roughly 57 lb (~26 kg), it’s the lightest bike in the comparison group below by a full 7 lb — light enough to walk up a porch step or manoeuvre in an apartment hallway. The 26″×2.125″ wear-resistant commuter tires roll efficiently on pavement, which is exactly why Samebike’s flat-road test produced up to 110 km on the lowest pedal-assist level. And with 330 lb (150 kg) of payload, the rack and basket are rated to actually carry your groceries, not just look the part.

Why a Light 500W Step-Thru Is the Right Tool for Canadian City Riding
The eBike market keeps pushing heavier bikes with bigger numbers — and for trail riders and cargo haulers, those numbers matter. But the actual daily reality of most Canadian commuters is different: a 5–15 km ride on pavement, a bag of groceries, a bike that has to be moved through doorways and parked in tight spaces. For that job, weight and simplicity beat raw wattage.
The RS-A01 Pro-T is built around that reality. The narrower 2.125″ commuter tires carry less rotating mass and less rolling resistance than fat tires, which is how a 540 Wh battery delivers manufacturer-tested distances that heavier bikes need 700+ Wh to match. The ~57 lb curb weight means the bike works with you when the motor is off — walking it, parking it, storing it. And the 500W motor with a 32 km/h top speed sits inside the power-assisted bicycle (PAB) thresholds that Canadian provinces converge on, so there’s no registration question, no licence question, no grey zone. Read our complete eBike laws guide by province for the full picture.
Then there’s the accessory math. A front basket, rear rack, fenders, and a multi-tool kit typically add $150–$250 to a bare bike. Here they’re in the box — the same free-gift bundle Samebike offers, honoured on every Zeus order.
Key Features
500W Brushless Hub Motor — 55+ Nm (manufacturer rating) — Enough torque to pull away from stop lights briskly and hold speed on the moderate grades that define most Canadian city riding. The 32 km/h top speed keeps the bike inside PAB limits across the country — see our 500W vs 750W vs 1000W guide for why 500W is the sweet spot for legal, licence-free commuting.
36V 15Ah Hidden Removable Battery — 540 Wh — The battery integrates into the downtube rather than hanging off a rack, keeping the bike’s lines clean and its centre of gravity low. It removes for indoor charging — essential in Canadian winters, when lithium batteries should be stored and charged at room temperature. Our eBike battery guide covers charging habits that double a pack’s lifespan.
Manufacturer-Tested Range: 55 km Pure Electric / Up to 110 km on PAS 1 — Samebike’s published test used a 75 kg rider on a flat road at the lowest assist level. Real-world mixed riding lands lower — we estimate 40–70 km depending on assist level, rider weight, wind, and hills (Zeus estimate). Either way, that’s several days of typical urban commuting between charges.
Step-Through Frame — Saddle Adjusts 34.6″–39.8″ (88–101 cm) — No leg-swing over a top tube: step in, sit, ride. That matters for riders in work clothes, riders with hip or knee limitations, and anyone stopping frequently for errands. The wide saddle-height range fits a broad span of riders on one frame.
Dual Comfort Suspension — Front Fork + Suspension Seatpost — The front fork takes the edge off potholes and frost heave; the suspension seatpost absorbs what gets through to the saddle. It’s comfort tuning for broken city pavement — the kind of suspension a commuter actually uses every block.
26″×2.125″ Wear-Resistant Commuter Tires — Purpose-built for pavement: lower rolling resistance for more range, quicker handling, and less rotating weight than fat tires. If your riding is streets, bike lanes, and paved paths, this is the efficient choice.
Shimano 7-Speed Drivetrain — Real gearing from a brand every bike shop in Canada can service. Downshift for hills or when riding unassisted; upshift to cruise. Simple, proven, repairable anywhere.
Mechanical Disc Brakes, Front & Rear — Reliable all-weather stopping that any home mechanic can adjust with a hex key. (We’re honest about the trade-off vs hydraulics below.)
LED Lights, Central LCD, IP54 Weather Rating — Integrated front and rear LED lighting for early dusk rides, a centre-mounted LCD for speed, battery, and assist level, and an IP54 overall weather rating — with the motor, battery, and display sealed to IP64 (per Samebike). Rain on the commute home is a non-event.
Three Ways to Ride — Pedal assist when you want help, pure-electric throttle mode when you don’t want to pedal at all, or pedal it like a regular bicycle. Not sure which mode suits you? Our pedal assist vs throttle guide breaks it down.

The Honest Take — What We’d Change
Cadence sensor, not torque sensor. The pedal assist responds to whether you’re pedalling, not how hard. On flat city rides that’s invisible; on steep hills a torque sensor feels more natural. At this price point cadence is the standard — if a torque-style ride matters to you, the Taubik Vista 26 offers switchable dual-sensor modes at a higher price.
Mechanical disc brakes, not hydraulic. They stop the bike reliably and are easy to service, but hydraulics offer finer modulation with less hand force. For flat-city commuting, mechanicals are fine; if your routes involve long descents with a loaded rack, consider stepping up.
540 Wh is the smallest battery in our step-thru lineup. It’s right-sized for city commuting — and it’s a big part of why the bike is light and affordable — but it’s not the tool for all-day throttle-heavy riding. If you routinely ride 60+ km on throttle, look at a 48V bike with more capacity.
Samebike doesn’t publish everything. Charge time and frame material aren’t in the manufacturer’s published specs, so you won’t find invented numbers for them here. Call us at 1-866-938-7580 and we’ll answer from the actual unit.
Those trade-offs are the honest cost of the entry ticket — and the money clearly went to the right places: a real 500W motor, a removable battery, genuine Shimano gearing, dual comfort suspension, and the complete accessory set. As a first eBike or a daily errand bike, the package is hard to argue with.

Who Is This Bike For?
First-time eBike buyers — If you’re moving from a regular bike (or from no bike) and don’t want to gamble a big budget on a category you haven’t lived with yet, this is the low-risk entry: real Shimano gearing, a removable battery, PAB-legal power, and every accessory included. Our guide to the best eBikes under $2,000 in Canada explains what separates a genuine value from a false economy.
Daily errand and grocery riders — The front basket, rear rack, fenders, and 330 lb payload make this a genuine car-trip replacer for the daily short haul. Step through, load up, go — in work clothes, in rain, without ceremony.
Riders who want easy mounting — The step-through frame and 88–101 cm saddle range suit shorter riders, riders with hip or knee limitations, and anyone who stops and starts frequently. No top-tube gymnastics at every red light.
Commuters who want zero legal ambiguity — At 500W and 32 km/h, this bike sits inside the PAB thresholds Canadian provinces converge on. No registration, no licence, no restricted-mode asterisks. Browse the full step-thru collection to compare it against every other easy-mount bike we stock.
Who it’s NOT for: If you ride long throttle-heavy distances, haul serious cargo up hills, or leave pavement regularly, this isn’t your tool. Look at the Freesky Ranger M-540 (dual-motor, 48V 25Ah, 400 lb payload) for power and range, or the Ridstar FM001 if you need to carry a passenger. Serious trail riders should start with our mountain eBike collection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Samebike RS-A01 Pro-T legal to ride in Canada?
Yes — as shipped, it fits the power-assisted bicycle (PAB) framework Canadian provinces converge on: a motor of 500W or less, a 32 km/h assisted top speed, and functional pedals. That means no licence, registration, or insurance requirement for a compliant PAB in any province. Age minimums and helmet rules vary by province, so check our complete eBike laws guide before your first ride.
What range will I actually get?
Samebike’s published test delivered up to 110 km on the lowest pedal-assist level with a 75 kg rider on a flat road, and about 55 km in pure-electric mode. Expect less in real-world mixed riding — we estimate 40–70 km depending on assist level, rider weight, hills, and wind (Zeus estimate). In winter, plan for a further 15–30% reduction in cold temperatures and store the battery indoors; our winter eBike guide covers cold-weather riding in detail.
What does the cadence sensor mean for how it rides?
The motor engages when the cranks turn and delivers a set output per assist level — smooth, predictable, and easy to learn. It doesn’t measure how hard you pedal the way a torque sensor does, so the assist feels more like a steady push than an amplification of your own effort. For city commuting, most riders never notice; see our pedal assist vs throttle guide for the full explanation.
Do I get the same free gifts as buying from Samebike directly?
Yes. Every Zeus order includes the same free accessory bundle the manufacturer offers: the front basket ($89 value), the 8-in-1 multi-functional kit ($39 value), plus the rear rack and fenders. Nothing is removed from the box when you buy through us — and you get Canadian support at 1-866-938-7580 on top.
Is the battery removable?
Yes — the 36V 15Ah battery is hidden in the downtube and removes for indoor charging. That matters in Canada: lithium batteries last longest when charged at room temperature, and bringing the pack inside overnight in winter protects both range and lifespan. Our eBike battery guide covers safe charging habits, storage, and end-of-life recycling.
How can I finance this purchase?
We offer flexible financing options through our store. Read our complete guide to financing an eBike in Canada, or call 1-866-938-7580 to discuss payment options before you order.
What assembly is required?
The bike ships partially assembled. Samebike’s official installation video (embedded above) walks through the final steps — typically handlebars, pedals, front wheel, basket, and adjustments. No specialist tools are needed, and if you’d rather have a person guide you, call 1-866-938-7580 and we’ll do it over the phone.
What does the warranty cover?
A 12-month manufacturer warranty covers manufacturing defects for the original owner. Note that the free accessories (basket and 8-in-1 kit) are excluded from warranty coverage, per Samebike’s terms. Contact us at milad@zeusebikes.ca or 1-866-938-7580 for claims — we handle them directly, no overseas back-and-forth. Optional extended coverage is available on this page at checkout.
