Samebike RS‑A02 Pro: a Folding Fat-Tire E-Bike With a Rear Shock and a 150 kg Rating

The Samebike RS‑A02 Pro is a high-step folding e-bike on 20 × 4.0″ fat tires, with an adjustable front fork and a rear spring shock. Samebike Canada lists a removable 48 V 15 Ah battery (720 Wh), 80+ N·m of torque, 32 km/h, 55–110 km of range, a Shimano 7-speed, mechanical disc brakes, a 150 kg maximum load and a 33 kg (72.7 lb) bike that folds to 0.99 × 0.55 × 0.79 m. Its motor is printed two ways on the same Canadian page: 500 W in the spec tab and 250 W in the feature text.

Fit: Samebike Canada’s chart prints a recommended rider height of 6′1″–7′9″, beside a seat height of 31.89–37.79″. For comparison, Samebike rates the LOTDM200-II, whose seat goes higher (to 41.3″), for 5′1″–6′3″. We print both figures as Samebike publishes them, with every other dimension and a way to check them against your own inseam.

Who it suits: riders who want fat tires and a rear shock on a bike that folds into a trunk, rated for 150 kg. Owners in Samebike’s own review summaries call it comfortable and well made, and “heavy and awkward” to transport.

⚠️ Canadian legal note

Canada’s federal e-bike definition was repealed in 2021, and the rules are now provincial: they converge on a motor of 500 W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026) and working pedals. Provinces also set their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules.

Samebike Canada lists the RS‑A02 Pro at 500 W and 32 km/h in its spec tab (250 W in its feature text). Its Australian page lists a 40 km/h top speed; its US page sells it as “Peak 1500W” and lists a 1000 W motor and a 40 km/h top speed; its French page prints 750 W and 40–45 km/h. A bike that assists past 32 km/h is outside the limits the provincial rules converge on, and where a maker says the setting can change, whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled. Call us at 1-866-938-7580 and we will tell you how the unit we ship is set. Canadian e-bike laws by province →

Samebike RS‑A02 Pro Size Chart: Rider Height, Seat Height and Every Dimension

Samebike publishes the RS-A02 Pro’s fit on its Canadian page as a Size & Fit chart, a Size & Fit pop-up and a Specification tab, and its manual adds a specification table. We read them on 19 October 2026 with the global, UK, Australian, US, French and German pages. The measurements agree within rounding (the wheelbase differs by 0.8″).

How to Check the Fit Before You Order

  • Go by the seat range. A review of the research on saddle height found the methods “varied and not well established” and suggested setting the saddle so the knee is bent 25–30° at the bottom of the pedal stroke (Bini, Hume and Croft, Sports Medicine, 2011; the paper →).
  • Measure your inseam (floor to crotch, in socks, against a wall) and send it to us with your height. We will check it against Samebike’s 31.89–37.79″ seat range before you order: 1-866-938-7580.
  • Plan for the weight. 33 kg, and its owner summary calls it “heavy and awkward” to transport; the battery comes off.
  • Check where it will live folded: 0.99 × 0.55 × 0.79 m.

Where Samebike’s Own Figures Differ

Samebike sells the RS‑A02 Pro on seven of its storefronts. Its measurements agree within rounding; these figures do not, and we print each with where it appears. Call us and we will confirm the one that matters to you.

Key Features

  • 20 × 4.0″ fat tires — Samebike: for “loose surfaces like sand, mud and gravel, as well as rocky or uneven trails”. Fat-tire e-bikes in Canada →
  • Adjustable front fork and a rear spring shock — suspension at both ends, on a frame that folds.
  • Folds for a trunk — “Foldable, you can put it into your trunk easily”, Samebike says; folded size 0.99 × 0.55 × 0.79 m. Folding e-bikes →
  • Removable 48 V 15 Ah battery — Samebike: “55km pure electric range or up to 110km assisted range” for a 75 kg rider on a flat road; 6–8 hours on the 54.6 V, 2 A charger in the manual. Battery care →
  • 80+ N·m and a 20° climbing rating (Samebike Canada and the manual), five pedal-assist levels.
  • 4-inch colour LCD, headlight and rear light — battery, speed and mileage on the display; an electric horn and a USB port (5 V, 1 A) per the manual.
  • Rear rack, Shimano 7-speed, mechanical disc brakes on a 6061 aluminium alloy frame.

The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy

  1. The rider-height range does not match the seat range. Samebike Canada’s chart prints 6′1″–7′9″, yet the seat tops out at 37.79″, below the LOTDM200-II’s 41.3″ (rated 5′1″–6′3″). Go by your inseam, not the printed range, and send it to us first.
  2. It is heavy. 33 kg; Samebike’s UK owner summary calls it “heavy and awkward” to transport, and its global summary says the brakes “may need improvement for emergency stopping on this heavy bike”.
  3. Mechanical, not hydraulic, brakes on a 33 kg bike with a 150 kg rating; the XD26-II has hydraulic discs.

If those fit how you ride (fat tires, a rear shock, a bike that folds, up to 150 kg), the RS‑A02 Pro is the only folding bike among the seven Samebike bikes compared below with a rear shock and a 150 kg rating.

Who Is the RS‑A02 Pro For?

Who it’s NOT for: anyone who must carry the bike up stairs (33 kg; the 20LVXD30-II is 25 kg); riders who want a step-through (the LOTDM200-II is one, with fat tires); riders who want hydraulic brakes (the XD26-II); and riders relying on the printed height range rather than their inseam.

Warranty and Zeus Care

Your Samebike RS-A02 Pro is backed by Samebike in full, on Samebike Canada’s own published terms (read 19 October 2026): the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year, for the original owner, from the day the original owner receives the bike. Samebike describes the battery cover as a 1-year prorated warranty, and a frame claim covers a replacement frame only (labour to move parts across is not included). Free parts that come with the bike are not covered, and neither is a stolen bike. Samebike’s product page for this bike also prints “12 Months Warranty” (“our manufacturer’s 12 months warranty for the original owner against all manufacturing defects”); its warranty policy is the longer of the two for the frame.

Not covered, in Samebike’s words: damage from accident, abuse, misuse or abnormal use, improper storage, exposure to liquid or chemicals, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, and damage from assembly, maintenance or repair that varies from Samebike’s instructions.

Zeus handles the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim and follow it up, and assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are part of it. Zeus Care plans continue that service for $119 (1 year), $229 (2 years), $339 (3 years) or $599 (5 years); Zeus Care is a service, not a warranty, and does not add coverage (prices in CAD, October 2026). Can I ride the RS‑A02 Pro in winter?

For lithium-ion cells, Battery University’s BU-410 table permits discharge, which is riding, from −20 °C to 60 °C and charging only from 0 °C to 45 °C: “No charge permitted below freezing.” Samebike’s French store, on its spare-battery page, says to charge the battery only indoors, in a dry place, neither too hot nor too cold (our translation). So bring the battery inside after a cold ride and let it warm up before you charge it. Samebike says the 4-inch fat tires keep the ride stable “whether it’s snow, beach, road, or flat mud”.
