Brake Lever Grip Lock — Keyed Handlebar Lock, Black or Blue
Brake Lever Grip Lock: Clamps the Lever to the Grip, Opens With a Key
This small keyed lock closes over your handlebar grip and brake lever together, as the supplier’s photos show. With the lever held in against the grip, the brake stays on, so the bike cannot simply be rolled away; that is our reading of the photos and of the supplier’s product name, “Bicycle Grip Lock”. The listing gives an ABS plastic body, 15.5 cm long, in black or blue. It does not tie the bike to anything, so treat it as an extra step on top of a lock that does.
We have not tested one yet. The figures on this page come from the supplier’s listing and its photos, which we saved on 17 October 2026; when something is the supplier’s claim, we say so.

What You Get
- A keyed clamp for the grip and the lever. The supplier’s photos show it closed over a handlebar grip and its brake lever, with the key cylinder at one end. Opened, it swings apart on a hinge; closed, it fits around the grip and the lever together.
- Two keys in the studio photos. The supplier’s studio photos of both colours show two keys on a ring. We have not confirmed how many come in the box.
- An ABS plastic body. The supplier’s size photo labels it 15.5 cm long, 5 cm tall and 4 cm across the key end; the listing’s table gives 5 × 15.5 cm.
- Black or blue. The two colours in the listing’s colour choice, as in the photos.
- Listed for bikes, motorcycles and scooters. That is the listing’s own list of uses. Fit on your bike depends on your grips and levers; see the questions below.

The Honest Take
- It does not lock the bike to anything. Someone can still lift the bike and carry it off. Use it with a lock through the frame, not instead of one.
- It is plastic, and we have not tested it. The listing gives the body as ABS, and we have no security rating or certification for it. We have not tried cutting, prying or breaking one.
- Fit is not confirmed. We do not have the inside size of the grip opening or the lever slot, so we cannot promise it closes over thick or shaped ergonomic grips, or over every brake lever.
- Take it off before you ride. It clamps the brake lever.
- The supplier’s lock-core claim is not repeated here, because nothing we have shows how it was tested.

Who It Suits, and Who Should Skip It
It suits riders who want a quick extra step at a short stop, on top of a lock that ties the bike to something. Skip it as your only lock: our WEST BIKING anti-theft U-lock ties the frame to a fixed object, and our disc brake alarm lock adds a 110 dB alarm. If your grips are thick or shaped, call 1-866-938-7580 first. Our eBike theft protection guide covers how to lock up an e-bike, and our accessories include the rest of a commuter set-up.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a grip lock work?
It closes over your handlebar grip and brake lever together and locks with a key. In the supplier’s photos it swings open on a hinge, closes around the grip and the lever together, and has its key cylinder at one end. Our reading of those photos is that the lever is held in against the grip, so the brake stays on and the bike cannot simply be rolled away. We do not have the supplier’s fitting instructions. If you want help before you order, call 1-866-938-7580.
Is it enough on its own, and where should I lock my e-bike?
Not in our view. It does not attach the bike to anything, so someone can still lift the bike and carry it off. Our eBike theft protection guide sets out a three-layer system that locks the frame and wheels to a fixed anchor. Use a grip lock as an extra step on top of a lock that does that, not instead of one.
How secure is it against theft?
We have not tested it, and we have no security rating or certification for it. The body is ABS plastic, per the listing. The supplier’s photos also make a claim about its lock core that we cannot check, so we do not repeat it. Treat it as an extra step at a short stop, not as your main lock; our eBike theft protection guide explains the layered approach we recommend.
Will it fit my e-bike?
The listing names bicycles, motorcycles and scooters. We do not have the inside size of its grip opening or its lever slot, so we cannot promise it closes over thick or shaped ergonomic grips, or over every brake lever. If you are unsure, call 1-866-938-7580 before you order and tell us your bike’s model.
Grip lock, disc lock or U-lock: which should I use?
For leaving the bike, start with a lock that ties the frame to something fixed: our WEST BIKING anti-theft U-lock has a steel shackle with an opening of about 22 × 10 cm, per its page. A grip lock and our disc brake alarm lock both stay on the bike and stop a wheel rolling freely (the grip lock by holding the brake on, in our reading of its photos); the disc lock adds a 110 dB alarm, per its page. We have not tested the three against each other, so we do not rank their strength.
Can I return it?
Yes, if it is unused and unopened: returns are accepted within 15 days of delivery, less a 15% restocking fee, and you pay the return shipping. If we shipped the wrong item or it is materially not as described, we pay the return shipping and no restocking fee applies. The full terms are in our refund policy. We have not confirmed a manufacturer warranty term for this lock, so we state none.
