An eBike takes you further than you planned, which is exactly why you should be drinking on the way. Most riders don't, and the reason is dull and physical: reaching down, wrestling a bottle straight up out of a cage, and doing it one-handed at speed is annoying enough that you skip it. This cage opens to the side instead of the top, so the bottle comes out with a sideways pull rather than a lift.

It's PC plastic at about 43 grams a cage, 148 × 70 mm, with a wraparound ring and a four-point base that spreads the load instead of pinching the bottle at two points. Sold as a pair.

What It Does

• Side-entry mouth — the opening faces sideways, so a low frame, a rear rack, or a crowded triangle can't block the bottle on its way out.
• Four-point support — four contact points and a widened base hold the bottle across a larger area, rather than gripping it in two spots and rattling.
• Wraparound ring edge — the top ring curves around the bottle instead of ending in a hard lip, which is what scuffs the label and the bottle over a season.
• 43 grams — light enough that two of them are still under 90 grams on the bike.
• Fits bottles to 7.5 cm — standard sport bottles, 500 ml water bottles, slim cans.
• Bolts to standard bosses — uses the two threaded mounts already on most frames, with the bolts already in them.

Why Two Cages Instead of One

Because one cage is rarely the right number. A longer-range frame usually carries two sets of bosses — one on the down tube, one under it or on the seat tube — and the second cage is where a tool bottle, a lock, or a second litre of water lives on a hot day. If your frame only takes one, the other goes on the partner's bike, the kid's bike, or the shelf for when the first one meets a parking rack. How to Fit It

Find the two threaded holes on your down tube or seat tube — they usually already have short bolts sitting in them. Back both bolts out with a hex key, hold the cage flat against the frame so its slots line up with the holes, and run the bolts back in until they're snug. Don't crank them: they're threading into the frame, not a machine bolt, and snug is the whole job. Repeat on the second set of bosses if you have them. A minute a cage, no adapters.

The Honest Take

This is PC plastic, not alloy or carbon. That's why it's 43 grams and why replacing one costs nothing, but it also means it flexes rather than bends — drop the bike on it hard enough and you replace the cage, not straighten it. The 7.5 cm limit is real: a standard sport bottle drops in, a fat insulated tumbler does not. And the part worth checking before you order — your frame needs bottle-cage bosses, the pair of threaded holes described above. Plenty of eBikes fill the down tube with a battery and never drill them, and no bolt-on cage in the world solves a frame with nothing to bolt to. Look first, order second.

What comes in the box?

Will it fit my eBike?

It fits any frame with standard bottle-cage bosses — two threaded holes on the down tube or seat tube. Check for those two holes first. Some eBikes fill the down tube with the battery and leave the bosses off, and no frame-mount cage works on a frame with nowhere to bolt to.

What size bottle does it hold?

Up to about 7.5 cm across — a standard sport bottle, a 500 ml water bottle, or a slim can. A wide insulated tumbler won't fit.

Which way does the bottle go in?

Sideways. The mouth opens to the side rather than straight up, which is the whole reason this shape exists: on a low or crowded frame there's often no clearance to lift a bottle out the top.
