The Pivot is Taubik’s first electric trike. Taubik lists a 500W Sutto rear-drive hub with 65 Nm, a torque sensor, a 48V 20Ah Samsung battery, an articulating rear suspension with gas shocks plus a front suspension fork, Shimano 7-speed gearing and Zoom hydraulic brakes on 180 mm rotors.

Taubik says it is built “for stability and comfort”, for “a quick trip to your local market for groceries or simply enjoying a ride in the great outdoors”. Its photos show a seat with a full backrest, a wire rear basket, fenders over all three wheels and a large round headlight. The manual adds a throttle and a parking switch that locks the brake on flat ground or a ramp.

Taubik’s manual also sets its limits: a minimum rider age of 14, a list of riders who should not ride it, and use between 0 °C and 40 °C. All of it is covered below.

What the Combination Does for a Trike Rider

Taubik’s Pivot manual says it arrives in its carton about 75% assembled:

The French manual says a qualified technician must install those parts before your first ride (“un technicien qualifié devra installer ces composantes”): ask us how that is handled for your order before your first ride. The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy

1. The manual lists riders who should not ride it. Including “Anyone who has problems with balance or with motor skills that would interfere with their ability to maintain balance”, and anyone under 14. Read the list in the FAQ below.
2. Taubik’s page has two speed figures. 32 km/h in the spec table and manual; “top speeds of 41km/h, ideal for off-road adventures” and a 1000W peak in a feature paragraph. Ask us how the trike ships before you ride it on public roads.
3. Heavy. 60 kg net in the manual (about 132 lb); the page lists the weight as N/A. Plan where it will live.
4. Not for riding below freezing, per the manual. 0 °C to 40 °C.
5. Taubik’s documents disagree on details. Tire sizes (page vs manual), derailleur (Altus vs Acera) and load (300 lb vs 150 kg). We show both and plan around the lower load. Taubik’s page and manuals do not list a rear differential; the Eunorau ONE-TRIKE 2.0 lists one.

Inside those limits it is a comfortable, suspended, torque-sensing trike with a parking brake and a basket, from a Canadian-owned brand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should not ride the Pivot?

Taubik’s Pivot manual says “The minimum rider age is 14”, and lists people who should not ride it: anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs; anyone with an illness that puts them at risk in strenuous physical activity; “Anyone who has problems with balance or with motor skills that would interfere with their ability to maintain balance”; anyone whose weight is outside the stated limits; and pregnant women. If balance is part of why you are looking at a trike, talk to your doctor first, then call us at 1-866-938-7580.

Is the Pivot legal on Canadian roads?

Canada has had no federal e-bike definition since the federal power-assisted-bicycle definition was repealed effective February 4, 2021. E-bike rules are provincial, and they converge on a 500W motor and 32 km/h of assisted speed (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026). Taubik’s spec table and manual list a 500W motor and 32 km/h. A feature paragraph on the same Taubik page says the motor “can reach a peak power of 1000W” and “achieves top speeds of 41km/h, ideal for off-road adventures”. We have not confirmed how the trike is set when it ships, so ask us before you ride it on public roads, and check the rules in your province and municipality before public-road use. Does it have a parking brake?

Yes. The manual puts a parking switch on the right-hand brake handle: “turn forward to open the parking switch, and the brake will be automatically locked, which can realize parking and parking on flat roads and ramps”.

Can I ride it in winter?

Taubik’s Pivot manual says: “This equipment is not intended to be used at ambient temperatures less than 0°C or above ambient temperatures of 40°C”, and the battery is to be charged between 0 °C and 40 °C. So the manual does not cover riding below freezing. Our winter e-bike guide →

How far does it go on a charge?

Taubik’s page says up to 100 km. Its manual gives 80–120 km with pedal assist and 60–65 km on electric power alone. Taubik’s FAQ, written for its e-bikes in general, says its 100 km figure was measured with a 160 lb rider on flat ground, no cargo, pedal-assist level 1 and moderate temperatures. How much can it carry, and how heavy is it?

Taubik’s page says 300 lb weight capacity; the manual says a maximum load of 150 kg (about 330 lb). Plan around the lower one, 300 lb. The manual’s rear-rack section rates the rear carrier for 25 kg and says it cannot pull a trailer. The page lists the weight as N/A; the manual gives a net weight of 60 kg (about 132 lb).

Where are Taubik bikes made?

Taubik describes itself as “a proudly Canadian-owned electric bike company”. Its product pages, manuals and policies that we read do not say where its bikes and trikes are manufactured, so we will not guess: ask us and we will tell you what Taubik tells us.

Is there a manual, and how does it arrive?

Taubik posts the Pivot manual in English and French. The English manual says it arrives about 75% assembled, with the pedals, seat, front wheel and sometimes the handlebar loosened or removed; the French manual adds that “un technicien qualifié devra installer ces composantes” (a qualified technician must install those parts) before you ride. What warranty does it come with?

Taubik’s published warranty covers the frame for 2 years and the electrical components (motor, battery, controller, display and wiring) for 1 year, from the original retail purchase date, for the original purchaser. It excludes wear parts such as tires, brake pads and rotors, chains, cassettes, derailleurs and shifters (unless defective at delivery), and damage from overloading, unauthorized modifications, environmental exposure or missed maintenance; labour is not covered unless Taubik approves it in writing.
