Samebike XD26‑II: a 26-Inch Full-Suspension Commuter E-Bike With Hydraulic Brakes, and Every Fit Figure Samebike Prints

The Samebike XD26‑II is a 26-inch city and commuter e-bike with suspension at both ends: an adjustable front fork and a rear shock absorber. It stops on hydraulic disc brakes, shifts through a Shimano 7-speed and runs on a 48 V, 15 Ah battery (720 Wh). Samebike Canada lists a 500 W motor with 70+ N·m of torque, a 32 km/h top speed, 55–110 km of range and a 25.5 kg (56.2 lb) bike.

Fit is where Samebike’s own pages split, and it is why we rebuilt this page. Samebike Canada’s Size & Fit chart recommends riders 5′2″–6′8″ with a seat height of 27.5–33.4″ and a 27″ standover; Samebike’s French page prints 5′3″–6′3″ and a 32–38.2″ seat. Below are both sets, every other dimension Samebike publishes, and how to check them against your own legs before you order.

Who it suits: commuters on broken pavement and gravel paths who want two shocks and strong brakes on a frame that does not fold. On Samebike Canada’s figures its seat has the lowest setting of the Samebike bikes we carry (27.5″); very tall riders should check the 33.4″ top setting first.

⚠️ Canadian legal note

Canada’s federal e-bike definition was repealed in 2021, and the rules are now provincial: they converge on a motor of 500 W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026) and working pedals. Provinces also set their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules.

Samebike Canada lists the XD26‑II at 500 W and 32 km/h, the figures those rules are built around. The same page also says “Max speed up to 28MPH with throttle” (about 45 km/h); Samebike’s manual lists three top speeds (“CE: 25km/h UL:32km/h Other:40km/h”); its French page prints a 750 W motor and 40 km/h and says the European version’s 25 km/h default can be unlocked “to reach 35KM/H or higher” with instructions from customer service; and its Australian page lists 40 km/h. A bike that keeps assisting past 32 km/h is outside the limits the provincial rules converge on, and where a maker says the setting can change, whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled. Call us at 1-866-938-7580 and we will tell you how the unit we ship is set. Canadian e-bike laws by province →

Samebike XD26‑II Size Chart: Rider Height, Seat Height and Every Dimension

Samebike publishes the XD26-II’s fit in three places on its Canadian page: a Size & Fit chart (an image), a “Size & Fit” pop-up beside the Add to cart button, and the Specification tab. We read all three on 19 October 2026, along with Samebike’s global, UK, French, German and Australian pages and its XD26/XD26-II user manual. The Canadian figures agree with each other; the French page prints a different set, shown further down.

Its pop-up labels E “Total length” and D “Handlebar length”; the chart and Samebike’s global page call them total height and handlebar width, which is what the drawing shows. F is labelled “Tire width” but is drawn across the whole wheel.

How to Check the Fit Before You Order

  • Go by the seat range, not only the height range. Samebike’s rider-height range is guidance; whether your leg works on the bike depends on the saddle. A review of the research on saddle height found the methods “varied and not well established” and suggested setting the saddle so the knee is bent 25–30° at the bottom of the pedal stroke (Bini, Hume and Croft, Sports Medicine, 2011; the paper →).
  • Measure your inseam (floor to crotch, in socks, standing against a wall) and send it to us with your height. We will check it against Samebike’s 27.5–33.4″ seat range before you order: 1-866-938-7580.
  • Check the standover. At a stop you straddle the frame; Samebike Canada lists 27″ for the XD26-II.
  • Add up the load. Samebike’s maximum load counts you and everything you carry. Its Canadian page says 150 kg and its manual says 100 kg; if you and your cargo are over 100 kg, call us first.

Where Samebike’s Own Figures Differ

Samebike sells the XD26‑II on six of its storefronts, and they do not all agree. We print every figure we found and where it is, so you see the spread rather than a single number we chose. Where it matters for your order, call us and we will confirm it against the unit we ship.

Key Features

  • Suspension front and rear — an adjustable front fork and a rear shock absorber; Samebike calls it “front and rear double suspension”. It is the feature that sets the XD26-II apart from the other 26-inch bike in our Samebike line.
  • Hydraulic disc brakes — in Samebike’s words, they “provide superior braking performance than mechanical brakes”.
  • 500 W motor, 70+ N·m (Samebike Canada) — five levels of pedal assist and a thumb throttle (Samebike UK), rated for a 25° climb.
  • 48 V 15 Ah battery, 720 Wh — 55–110 km per charge on Samebike Canada’s figure, 6–8 hours to charge, on the 54.6 V, 2 A charger in Samebike’s manual. Battery care in Canada →
  • 26 × 2.1″ Kenda tires with reflective tape — a road-and-path tire, not a fat tire. Fat tire or regular? →
  • Lights and reflectors — LED front light and taillight, plus wheel and pedal reflectors.
  • Shimano 7-speed and a colour LCD on a mid-mounted bar showing speed, battery, distance and assist level.
  • Saddle on a suspended seat tube — Samebike: “Soft leather and seat tube shock absorber”.
  • Electric horn, USB charging port (5 V, 1 A) and an IP54 rating, per Samebike’s manual, on a 6061 aluminium alloy frame.

The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy

  1. Two rider ranges, and a seat that tops out at 33.4″. Samebike Canada says 5′2″–6′8″; its French chart says 5′3″–6′3″. For comparison, the RS-A01 Pro-T’s saddle goes to 39.7″ and the LOTDM200-II’s to 41.3″. If you are over about 6′3″, send us your inseam before you order.
  2. The battery may not come off. Samebike’s global spec tab lists it as “Non-detachable”, and the AI-selected owner summary on that page mentions a non-removable battery; the Canadian page does not say either way. Plan to charge it on the bike, or call us if you need to carry the battery indoors.
  3. Samebike’s pages disagree on load, speed and motor. Three load figures (100, 150 and 180 kg), motors listed at 250, 500 and 750 W, and top speeds from 25 to about 45 km/h. They are all in the table above; ask us which apply to the unit we ship.

If those fit how you ride (rough pavement, gravel paths, a commute where two shocks and hydraulic brakes matter), the XD26‑II is the only 26-inch bike in our Samebike line with suspension at both ends.

Who Is the XD26‑II For?

  • Commuters on rough city streets — two shocks and hydraulic brakes on a 25.5 kg bike. E-bikes for adults in Canada →
  • Riders between 5′3″ and 6′3″ — the span both of Samebike’s charts include.
  • Gravel-path riders — Samebike pitches it for “bustling streets or bumpy trails”. More full-suspension e-bikes →
  • Shorter riders who want a 26-inch bike — on Samebike Canada’s figures, the lowest seat setting in our Samebike line (27.5″; its French page says 32″). Fit-first picks for women →

Who it’s NOT for: riders who need a bike that folds (the XD26‑II does not; the 20LVXD30-II, CY20, LOTDM200-II and RS-A02 Pro do); riders over about 6′3″ until they have checked their inseam against the 33.4″ top seat height (the RS-A01 Pro-T’s seat reaches 39.7″); anyone who must carry the battery indoors to charge it; and riders who want fat tires for snow and sand (the LOTDM200-II and RS-A02 Pro run 20 × 4″).

Warranty and Zeus Care

Your Samebike XD26-II is backed by Samebike in full, on Samebike Canada’s own published terms (read 19 October 2026): the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year, for the original owner, from the day the original owner receives the bike. Samebike describes the battery cover as a 1-year prorated warranty, and a frame claim covers a replacement frame only (labour to move parts across is not included). Free parts that come with the bike are not covered, and neither is a stolen bike. Samebike’s product page for this bike also prints “12 Months Warranty” (“our manufacturer’s 12 months warranty for the original owner against all manufacturing defects”); its warranty policy is the longer of the two for the frame.

Not covered, in Samebike’s words: damage from accident, abuse, misuse or abnormal use, improper storage, exposure to liquid or chemicals, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, and damage from assembly, maintenance or repair that varies from Samebike’s instructions.

Zeus handles the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim and follow it up, and assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are part of it. Zeus Care plans continue that service for $119 (1 year), $229 (2 years), $339 (3 years) or $599 (5 years); Zeus Care is a service, not a warranty, and does not add coverage (prices in CAD, October 2026). Frequently Asked Questions

What riders ask about the XD26‑II

What height rider does the Samebike XD26‑II fit?

Samebike Canada’s Size & Fit chart recommends riders 5′2″–6′8″; Samebike’s French chart says 5′3″–6′3″. The seat adjusts from 27.5″ to 33.4″ (ground to saddle top) and the standover is 27″. Riders near either end of those ranges should send us their inseam and height before ordering (1-866-938-7580). Full size chart →

What is the XD26‑II’s seat height and standover height?

On Samebike Canada’s figures: seat height 27.5″ to 33.4″ (69.9 to 84.8 cm), measured from the ground to the top of the saddle, and a 27″ (68.6 cm) standover. On those figures, that is the lowest seat setting of the Samebike bikes we carry. Samebike’s French page lists 32″ to 38.2″ and a 33″ standover instead.

How much does the XD26‑II weigh, and what is its maximum load?

25.5 kg (56.2 lb) on Samebike’s Canadian, global, UK and French pages and in its manual. Samebike Canada lists a 150 kg (330 lb) maximum load, rider plus cargo; Samebike’s French chart says 180 kg and its manual says 100 kg (220.4 lb), so call us if you and your cargo are above 100 kg.

What are the XD26‑II’s dimensions, and how big is the box?

Samebike Canada: 69.3″ long, a 43.1″ wheelbase, 39.3″ tall and 26.4″ across the handlebar; its spec tab gives 1.76 × 0.67 × 1 m. Samebike’s manual lists the shipping box at 1360 × 240 × 720 mm and 29 kg (63.9 lb). Every dimension →

Which Samebike bikes fold, and is the XD26‑II one of them?

The XD26‑II does not: Samebike lists “Foldability: No”. If you need a folding Samebike, the 20LVXD30-II, CY20, LOTDM200-II and RS-A02 Pro fold.

Is the battery removable?

Samebike’s global spec tab says “Battery Removability: Non-detachable” and describes a “Built-in Battery”; Samebike Canada’s page does not say. Plan to charge it on the bike, and call us if you need to take the battery indoors. Battery care in the cold →

How fast does the XD26‑II go, and is it legal in Canada?

Samebike Canada lists 32 km/h and a 500 W motor, the figures the provincial rules converge on, but the same page says “Max speed up to 28MPH with throttle”, and Samebike’s manual and French page list 40 km/h. A bike that assists past 32 km/h is outside those limits, and whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled. Ask us how the unit we ship is set, and check your province: Canadian e-bike laws →

How far does the XD26‑II go on a charge?

Samebike Canada says 55–110 km. Its manual says about 90–100 km with pedal assist and 45–50 km on the throttle alone. More assist, the throttle, hills, wind, cargo and cold all shorten it.

Are there reviews of the Samebike XD26‑II?

Samebike’s global page shows a summary of its own customer reviews, selected by AI: owners praise the quality, the motor and battery life of “up to 90km with pedal assist”, and easy assembly; some report customer-service issues, battery charging problems and the non-removable battery. Samebike’s UK summary lists range falling short of claims, a hard seat, the weight and the mudguards as common concerns. For an independent look, Mongrel Dog Productions posted a video product review of the XD26-II on YouTube in May 2026.

What warranty comes with the XD26‑II?

Samebike backs the Samebike XD26-II in full on Samebike Canada’s published terms: its warranty policy covers the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year (the battery on a prorated basis), and its product page says 12 months; for the original owner. Zeus files and follows up the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included. Warranty details →

How long does delivery take?

Free shipping anywhere we deliver in Canada. Orders are processed in 1–3 business days after we confirm them, then take 2–7 business days in transit depending on where you live, and the tracking number comes by email. We do not ship to P.O. boxes or remote communities, so call us first at 1-866-938-7580 if you live in one. Shipping policy →
