Samebike LOTDM200‑II: a Folding Fat-Tire Step-Through With the Highest Seat Setting in Our Samebike Line

The Samebike LOTDM200‑II is a step-through e-bike that folds, on 20 × 4″ fat tires. Samebike Canada lists a 500 W motor (70+ N·m), a removable 48 V 13 Ah battery (624 Wh) built from 18650 cells, 32 km/h, 45–90 km of range, a Shimano 7-speed, mechanical disc brakes, a front suspension fork with a seat shock, an NFC display, and a 28 kg (61.7 lb) bike rated for 120 kg.

Samebike’s chart sizes it for riders 5′1″–6′3″, and its seat runs 33.8–41.3″, and its 41.3″ top setting is the highest of the Samebike bikes we carry; Samebike’s own FAQ calls it “suitable for any height”. Below are both, every dimension Samebike prints (including its Australian page’s millimetre figures and the manual’s shipping box), and how to check the fit with your inseam.

Who it suits: riders who want fat tires for sand, snow edges and gravel, a step-through frame, and a bike that folds for a garage, office or transit, as Samebike puts it. It is a 28 kg bike, and its NFC key does less than its name suggests (see the honest take).

⚠️ Canadian legal note

Canada’s federal e-bike definition was repealed in 2021, and the rules are now provincial: they converge on a motor of 500 W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026) and working pedals. Provinces also set their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules.

Samebike Canada lists the LOTDM200‑II at 500 W and 32 km/h, the figures those rules are built around. Samebike’s manual lists a 25 mph (40 km/h) top speed, its French page sells it as a 750 W bike, and owners in Samebike’s global review summary report 40 km/h. Its French page adds that the European version’s 25 km/h default can be unlocked “to reach 35KM/H or higher” with instructions from customer service, and its Australian spec tab lists a 45 km/h maximum. A bike that keeps assisting past 32 km/h is outside the limits the provincial rules converge on, and where a maker says the setting can change, whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled. Call us at 1-866-938-7580 and we will tell you how the unit we ship is set. Canadian e-bike laws by province →

Samebike LOTDM200‑II Size Chart: Rider Height, Seat Height and Every Dimension

Samebike publishes the LOTDM200-II’s fit on its Canadian page as a Size & Fit chart, a Size & Fit pop-up and a Specification tab; the Australian page prints millimetre figures, and the manual a specification table. We read them all on 19 October 2026 with the global, UK, French and German pages. The figures agree with each other within rounding.

How to Check the Fit Before You Order

  • Go by the seat range, not only the height range. Samebike’s rider-height range is guidance; whether your leg works on the bike depends on the saddle. A review of the research on saddle height found the methods “varied and not well established” and suggested setting the saddle so the knee is bent 25–30° at the bottom of the pedal stroke (Bini, Hume and Croft, Sports Medicine, 2011; the paper →).
  • Shorter riders: check the lowest setting. The seat starts at 33.8″, high for the bottom of Samebike’s 5′1″ range; the XD26-II starts at 27.5″ and the CY20 at 32″. Send us your inseam and height before you order: 1-866-938-7580.
  • Taller riders: the top seat setting, 41.3″, is the highest in our Samebike line; Samebike’s chart still tops out at 6′3″.
  • Add up the load: 120 kg, you plus everything you carry. Samebike rates the RS-A02 Pro, also a fat-tire folder, for 150 kg.

Where Samebike’s Own Figures Differ

Samebike sells the LOTDM200‑II on six of its storefronts. Its size figures agree; these do not, and we print each with where it appears. Call us and we will confirm the one that matters to you against the unit we ship.

Key Features

  • 20 × 4″ fat tires — Samebike: “powerful off-road capabilities and stable riding performance”. Fat-tire e-bikes in Canada →
  • Step-through frame that folds — “double-folding, folded in three seconds”, in Samebike’s words; folded size 0.92 × 0.6 × 0.73 m. Step-through e-bikes →
  • 500 W motor, 70+ N·m (Samebike Canada) — five pedal-assist levels and a thumb throttle (Samebike UK).
  • Removable 48 V 13 Ah battery of 18650 cells — up to 90 km in pedal-assist level 1 for a 75 kg rider on a flat road; 45–90 km overall; 6–8 hours on the 54.6 V, 3 A charger in the manual. Battery care in the cold →
  • Front suspension fork and a seat shock absorber; Samebike’s UK page lists rear suspension too.
  • NFC colour display — Samebike: “NFC supports card unlocking and mobile phone cloning”.
  • Lights, rack and pedals — front and rear lights built into the frame and run off the main battery, a rear rack for panniers, platforms or baskets, aluminum alloy pedals, and an electric horn and USB port (manual).
  • Shimano 7-speed and mechanical disc brakes on an aluminum alloy frame (6061, per the manual).

The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy

  1. The NFC key is not a lock. Samebike sells it as “card unlocking”, but its own review summaries say the “NFC fob only controls display power rather than providing actual security locking functionality” (Australia) and that “the NFC security feature is non-functional” for some (UK). Use a real lock.
  2. The seat starts high. At 33.8″, the lowest seat setting is above the CY20’s and the XD26-II’s, so riders near Samebike’s 5′1″ minimum should check their inseam first.
  3. Speed and power figures differ by source. 500 W and 32 km/h in Canada, 25 mph (40 km/h) in the manual, 750 W on Samebike’s French page. Ask us how the unit we ship is set.

If those fit how you ride (fat tires, a step-through, a bike that folds, riders up to 6′3″ on Samebike’s chart), the LOTDM200‑II has the highest seat setting in our Samebike line.

Warranty and Zeus Care

Your Samebike LOTDM200-II is backed by Samebike in full, on Samebike Canada’s own published terms (read 19 October 2026): the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year, for the original owner, from the day the original owner receives the bike. Samebike describes the battery cover as a 1-year prorated warranty, and a frame claim covers a replacement frame only (labour to move parts across is not included). Free parts that come with the bike are not covered, and neither is a stolen bike. Samebike’s product page for this bike also prints “12 Months Warranty” (“our manufacturer’s 12 months warranty for the original owner against all manufacturing defects”); its warranty policy is the longer of the two for the frame.

Not covered, in Samebike’s words: damage from accident, abuse, misuse or abnormal use, improper storage, exposure to liquid or chemicals, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, and damage from assembly, maintenance or repair that varies from Samebike’s instructions.

Zeus handles the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim and follow it up, and assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are part of it. Zeus Care plans continue that service for $119 (1 year), $229 (2 years), $339 (3 years) or $599 (5 years); Zeus Care is a service, not a warranty, and does not add coverage (prices in CAD, October 2026). The seat runs 33.8–41.3″ (860–1050 mm on Samebike’s Australian page); its 41.3″ top setting is the highest in our Samebike line. Near either end, send us your inseam and height first (1-866-938-7580). Full size chart →

How much does the LOTDM200‑II weigh, and what is its weight limit?

28 kg (61.7 lb on Samebike’s chart, 61 lb in its manual). Maximum load is 120 kg (264 lb), rider plus cargo.

How small does the LOTDM200‑II fold, and how big is the box?

Samebike Canada lists the folded size as 0.92 × 0.6 × 0.73 m (about 36.2 × 23.6 × 28.7″); the manual lists the shipping box at the same 920 × 600 × 730 mm and 33.5 kg.

What are the LOTDM200‑II’s dimensions?

Samebike Canada: 69″ long, a 44″ wheelbase, 45.6–49.6″ tall and 25.2″ across the handlebar; the manual gives 1750 × 635 × 1260 mm. Every dimension →

Does the NFC key lock the bike?

Not as a lock, according to Samebike’s own review summaries: in Australia, “the NFC fob only controls display power rather than providing actual security locking functionality”; in the UK some found “the NFC security feature is non-functional”. Samebike describes it as card unlocking. Use a real lock.

Is the battery removable, and how long does it take to charge?

Yes: Samebike says “Its removable battery can be charged anywhere”. Samebike Canada and the manual list 6–8 hours; Samebike’s UK page says 4–6. Owners in its UK summary say battery removal “can be tricky”.

How fast does the LOTDM200‑II go, and is it legal in Canada?

Samebike Canada lists 500 W and 32 km/h, the figures the provincial rules converge on; its manual lists 25 mph (40 km/h) and its French page sells it as 750 W. A bike that assists past 32 km/h is outside those limits, and whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled. Ask us how the unit we ship is set: Canadian e-bike laws →

Can I ride the LOTDM200‑II in the rain or snow?

Samebike advises avoiding heavy rain, which it says “may affect battery life and reduce traction”; its FAQ rates the bike IP54 and the motor, battery and display IP64. Winter riding in Canada →

Are there reviews of the Samebike LOTDM200‑II?

Samebike’s pages show AI-selected summaries of its customer reviews: owners praise the build, comfort, value and easy assembly, and report speeds of 40 km/h; the concerns are the NFC security feature, brake noise at first, tricky battery removal and, for one owner, the seat.

What warranty comes with the LOTDM200‑II?

Samebike backs the Samebike LOTDM200-II in full on Samebike Canada’s published terms: its warranty policy covers the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year (the battery on a prorated basis), and its product page says 12 months; for the original owner. Zeus files and follows up the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included. Warranty details →

How hard is assembly?

Samebike’s installation video is on this page, and its owner summaries call assembly easy. Your first month of Zeus Care includes assembly walkthroughs by phone or video: 1-866-938-7580.

How far does the LOTDM200‑II go on a charge?

Samebike Canada gives 45–90 km, up to 90 km in PAS 1. Its manual gives 70–80 km on pedal assist and 35–40 km on the throttle alone; its Australian spec tab and UK spec text give 45 km on the motor alone, its French spec strip 40 + 40 km, and its French product description up to 80 km assisted. For planning we divide the battery’s watt-hours by 30 for a hard day and by 15 for an easy one: the 48 V 13 Ah pack (624 Wh) plans at 21–42 km. That is our estimate, not Samebike’s figure. How we plan range →

Can I ride the LOTDM200‑II in winter?

For lithium-ion cells, Battery University’s BU-410 table permits discharge, which is riding, from −20 °C to 60 °C and charging only from 0 °C to 45 °C: “No charge permitted below freezing.” Samebike’s French store, on its spare-battery page, says to charge the battery only indoors, in a dry place, neither too hot nor too cold (our translation). So bring the battery inside after a cold ride and let it warm up before you charge it. Our winter e-bike guide covers tires, storage and charging through a Canadian winter →
