Samebike XWLX09‑II: a 1000 W Folding Fat-Tire E-Bike With Suspension at Both Ends, and Every Fit Figure Samebike Prints

The Samebike XWLX09‑II is a fat-tire folding e-bike with a lockable suspension fork, hydraulic rear suspension and hydraulic disc brakes. Samebike sells it on its French store with a 1000 W motor (1500 W peak, its FAQ says), a 48 V 15 Ah battery (720 Wh), a 45 km/h top speed with a 25 km/h default setting, 65 km on electric power and 130 km with pedal assist, a Shimano 7-speed, a half-twist throttle, a rear rack and a 150 kg payload. It folds twice, frame and front, to 950 × 520 × 790 mm.

At 1000 W it is above the 500 W that the provincial e-bike rules converge on: read the legal note below before you plan any road riding.

Fit: Samebike’s French chart recommends riders 5′6″–6′5″, and its Size and Fit table gives a 33.2–39.8″ seat height and a 32″ standover; its FAQ calls the bike “suitable for people of all heights”. Below is every figure Samebike publishes for it, where they differ, and how to check them against your own legs.

⚠️ Canadian legal note

Canada’s federal e-bike definition was repealed in 2021, and the rules are now provincial: they converge on a motor of 500 W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026) and working pedals. Provinces also set their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules.

Samebike sells the XWLX09‑II as a 1000 W bike (1500 W peak, its FAQ says) with a 45 km/h top speed. It ships set to 25 km/h for European rules, and the same page explains how to unlock the top speed; its Legal Issues tab says to “35KM/H or higher”. At 1000 W it is above the 500 W the provincial rules converge on at any speed setting, so it does not fit those rules. Where a bike falls outside a province’s e-bike rules, that province’s motor-vehicle rules (registration, licensing, insurance) can apply on public roads. Check your province before riding on the road, and call us at 1-866-938-7580 with questions. Canadian e-bike laws by province →

How to Check the Fit Before You Order

  • Go by the seat range, not only the height range. A review of the research on saddle height found the methods “varied and not well established” and suggested setting the saddle so the knee is bent 25–30° at the bottom of the pedal stroke (Bini, Hume and Croft, Sports Medicine, 2011; the paper →).
  • Measure your inseam (floor to crotch, in socks, against a wall) and send it to us with your height. We will check it against Samebike’s 33.2–39.8″ seat range and 32″ standover before you order: 1-866-938-7580.
  • Plan for the weight. 33.5 kg in Samebike’s manual (28 kg on its chart); its folded size is 950 × 520 × 790 mm.

Where Samebike’s Own Figures Differ

Samebike sells the XWLX09‑II on its French store and publishes a manual for it. These figures do not agree, and we print each with where it appears. Call us and we will confirm the one that matters to you.

Key Features

  • 1000 W motor — Samebike says it has the torque and drive to climb steep slopes and rough ground; its manual rates the climb at 40°. It prints no torque figure. Fat-tire e-bikes in Canada →
  • 48 V 15 Ah battery — Samebike: 65 km on electric power and 130 km with pedal assist; 6–8 hours on the 54.6 V, 3 A charger in the manual. Battery care →
  • Suspension at both ends — a lockable suspension fork and hydraulic rear suspension, with hydraulic disc brakes.
  • Fat tires for loose ground — Samebike pitches them for sand, snow, mud, gravel and rocky trails.
  • Folds twice — frame and front, to 950 × 520 × 790 mm; Samebike says it fits a car trunk. Folding e-bikes →
  • Shimano 7-speed, half-twist throttle, central colour LCD — the display shows battery, system status and error codes; an electric horn and a USB port (5 V, 1 A) per the manual.
  • Reinforced rear rack — Samebike also shows it with a front basket and full fenders, which its French store lists as free accessories; ask us what ships with a Zeus order.

The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy

  1. It is a 1000 W, 45 km/h bike. That is above the limits the provincial e-bike rules converge on at any setting; read the legal note before you plan road riding.
  2. Samebike prints two weights. 28 kg on its chart, 33.5 kg in its manual. Plan for the heavier figure until we confirm the unit we ship.
  3. No torque or tire-size figure. Samebike’s French page and its manual’s specification table print neither; ask us and we will measure.
  4. Its product page is in French. Samebike sells it on its French store; the manual’s specification table is in English.

If those fit how you ride (private land and off-road riding, a fat-tire folder with suspension at both ends, up to 150 kg), the XWLX09‑II gives you hydraulic brakes and a double fold in one frame.

Who it’s NOT for: anyone who wants a folder inside the provincial e-bike limits (Samebike Canada lists the RS-A02 Pro and the LOTDM200-II at 500 W and 32 km/h); riders who carry the bike up stairs (up to 33.5 kg; the 20LVXD30-II is 25 kg); and riders below about 5′6″ on Samebike’s chart.

Warranty and Zeus Care

Your Samebike XWLX09-II is backed by Samebike in full, on Samebike Canada’s own published terms (read 19 October 2026): the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year, for the original owner, from the day the original owner receives the bike. Samebike describes the battery cover as a 1-year prorated warranty, and a frame claim covers a replacement frame only (labour to move parts across is not included). Free parts that come with the bike are not covered, and neither is a stolen bike. Samebike’s product page for this bike also prints “12 Months Warranty” (“our manufacturer’s 12 months warranty for the original owner against all manufacturing defects”); its warranty policy is the longer of the two for the frame.

Not covered, in Samebike’s words: damage from accident, abuse, misuse or abnormal use, improper storage, exposure to liquid or chemicals, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, and damage from assembly, maintenance or repair that varies from Samebike’s instructions.

Zeus handles the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim and follow it up, and assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are part of it. Zeus Care plans continue that service for $119 (1 year), $229 (2 years), $339 (3 years) or $599 (5 years); Zeus Care is a service, not a warranty, and does not add coverage (prices in CAD, October 2026). Frequently Asked Questions

What riders ask about the XWLX09‑II

What height rider does the Samebike XWLX09‑II fit?

Samebike’s French chart recommends 5′6″–6′5″, while its FAQ calls the bike “suitable for people of all heights”. The seat runs 33.2–39.8″ with a 32″ standover. Send us your inseam and height before you order (1-866-938-7580). Full size chart →

How big is the XWLX09‑II folded and unfolded?

Samebike’s FAQ: folded, 950 × 520 × 790 mm (about 37.4 × 20.5 × 31.1″); unfolded, 1780 × 660 × 1200 mm. It folds twice, frame and front, and Samebike says it fits a car trunk. The manual adds a 1490 × 300 × 730 mm, 38 kg shipping box.

How much does the XWLX09‑II weigh, and how much can it carry?

Samebike prints two weights: 28 kg on its chart and 33.5 kg (73 lb) in its manual. Maximum load is 150 kg (330 lb), rider plus cargo.

What torque does the XWLX09‑II have?

Is the XWLX09‑II 1000W, and can I ride it on the road in Canada?

Samebike lists 1000 W rated and 1500 W peak, and a 45 km/h top speed with a 25 km/h default setting that its page explains how to unlock. At 1000 W it is above the 500 W the provincial rules converge on, so it does not fit them at any setting; on public roads, motor-vehicle rules can apply. Check your province first. Canadian e-bike laws →

How far does the XWLX09‑II go on a charge?
