⚠️ Canadian legal note: a motor over 500 W
Canada has had no federal e-bike definition since the federal power-assisted-bicycle definition was repealed effective February 4, 2021. E-bike rules are provincial, and they converge on a 500W motor and 32 km/h of assisted speed (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ends on 19 October 2026).
Velotric lists the Fold 1 Plus’s motor at 750 W. That is above the 500 W line, so the Fold 1 Plus is not a road-legal power-assisted bicycle in any province at any speed setting. It ships set to 32 km/h; Velotric lists an adjustable range of 19–45 km/h, and its Class 1/2/3 labels are the US classification system, not a Canadian category.
Higher-power e-bikes are outside those definitions: private land with permission, or where your province’s off-road rules allow. Canadian e-bike laws by province → For a Velotric rated at or under 500 W, the 350 W Tempo (17.7 kg) and the 500 W Discover M ship set to 32 km/h; neither folds.
Good to know before you order
Battery size: Velotric’s spec table lists 48 V, 13 Ah and its own description 608 Wh; it prints no other watt-hour figure for this model.
Load: Velotric’s spec table gives a 204 kg maximum load; its guide gives 440 lb (200 kg) as the total including the bike. Plan within the lower figure: 200 kg in all, or about 171 kg for rider and cargo once the bike’s 28.6 kg is counted. The rack is rated for 54.4 kg.
Cleaning and carrying: Velotric’s guide says not to wash it with water or use a pressure washer, and not to use the bike with standard bike trailers, stands or vehicle racks. Folded, it goes in the car instead: 96 × 50 × 85 cm.
Charging in winter: the battery won’t charge below 0 °C. Velotric’s guide says to charge it at 10–30 °C; it lifts out to charge inside.
What the Combination Does for a Canadian Rider
- Folds for the car, the RV or a closet — 96 × 50 × 85 cm folded, per Velotric.
- A torque sensor on a folding bike — with SensorSwap: torque for responsive control, cadence for relaxed cruising, plus 3 riding modes and 5 assist levels.
- Comfort for a small-wheeled bike — a 60 mm hydraulic fork with lockout and 20 × 3.0″ puncture-resistant tires.
- Carries more than it looks — a rear rack built into the frame and rated for 54.4 kg, with full-coverage fenders.
Fold 1 Plus Sizes, Fit and Measurements

- Torque sensor with SensorSwap — switch to cadence for little-pedalling cruising; 3 riding modes × 5 PAS levels.
- 60 mm hydraulic fork — with lockout; a nutted front hub.

How It Arrives
In the box, per Velotric:
- The Fold 1 Plus, folded, with its battery and charger
- The manual, and a toolkit to assemble the bike
Velotric’s guide has you fit the kickstand and derailleur protector, straighten the stem from its folded position, fit the front wheel, the front fender and front light, the reflectors and the pedals, then check the tires and charge the battery. Your first month of Zeus Care includes assembly walkthroughs by phone or video.
The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy
- Above the 500 W line. Velotric lists 750 W, so it is not a road-legal power-assisted bicycle in any province (see the legal note above).
- 28.6 kg to lift. Folding makes it compact, not light, and Velotric does not publish a weight without the battery.
- 7 gears, 11–28T. A narrower range than the 8- and 9-speed Velotrics; the motor does more of the climbing.
- No assembly video from Velotric for this model. The guide covers it, and Zeus Care’s first month includes walkthroughs.
If you need an e-bike that fits in a car, an RV or a small apartment, the Fold 1 Plus is the Velotric we sell that folds on two wheels.

Frequently Asked Questions
What riders ask about the Fold 1 Plus
Where can I buy the Velotric Fold 1 Plus in Canada?
Here, from Zeus eBikes Canada: order the Fold 1 Plus online on this page. It ships from Canada with free Canada-wide shipping (no P.O. boxes or remote communities: call first), processed in 1–3 business days, then 2–7 business days in transit. Returns are 15 days from delivery on unused, unopened items, with a 15% restocking fee and return shipping paid by you. Your first month of Zeus Care is included, and we file warranty claims with Velotric for you. Questions before you order: 1-866-938-7580 or sales@zeusebikes.ca; to pay by Interac e-Transfer instead of card, email sales@ for an invoice.
What are the Fold 1 Plus’s folded dimensions?
96 cm long, 50 cm wide and 85 cm high folded (37.8 × 19.7 × 33.5″), per Velotric’s Fold 1 Plus page. Unfolded, Velotric gives a 660 mm handlebar and a 400 mm stand-over; it does not print a wheelbase or total length for this model. See the geometry →
How much does the Fold 1 Plus weigh, and what is its weight limit?
28.6 kg, per Velotric; it does not publish a weight without the battery, or the battery’s own weight. The spec table gives a 204 kg maximum load and the manual 440 lb (200 kg) as the total including the bike, so plan within 200 kg in all. The rack carries 54.4 kg. E-bikes for heavy riders →
What battery does the Fold 1 Plus use? How many watt-hours?
A removable 48 V, 13 Ah pack, IPX7, certified to UL 2271, with 18650 cells certified to UL 2580, on a 48 V, 2 A charger. Velotric’s own description gives 608 Wh. Charge it at 10–30 °C; it won’t charge below 0 °C or above 45 °C. E-bike battery guide →
How far does the Fold 1 Plus go on a charge?
Velotric rates it for up to 109 km on pedal assist and 72 km on throttle, tested with an 85 kg rider using PAS 1 in Eco mode on flat roads. Range drops with load, hills, wind and cold. Long-range e-bikes →
What class is the Fold 1 Plus, how fast does it go, and can I ride it on Canadian roads?
It ships set to 32 km/h, and Velotric lists an adjustable range of 19–45 km/h. Velotric labels the settings Class 1/2/3; those are US labels, not a Canadian category. Velotric lists the motor at 750 W, above that line, so the Fold 1 Plus is not a road-legal power-assisted bicycle in any province at any speed setting. Higher-power e-bikes are outside those definitions: private land with permission, or where your province’s off-road rules allow. Canadian e-bike laws by province →
What tire size does it use, and what pressure?
20 × 3.0″ puncture-resistant tires on double-wall rims. Velotric’s manual says to inflate them to the PSI stamped on the sidewall.
What seatpost diameter does it take?
30.9 mm, 350 mm long, with a quick-release clamp, per Velotric.
What accessories come with it? Can I add a child or passenger seat?
Fenders and a rear rack built into the frame (54.4 kg) come with it. Velotric’s Fold 1 Plus page and manual list no child or passenger seat; the manual’s 200 kg total includes any passenger. For a passenger, the GoMad has Velotric passenger kits.
Is the Fold 1 Plus waterproof?
Velotric’s description rates the bike IPX6 and the battery IPX7. Its manual says not to wash it with water or use a pressure washer, and that water damage and corrosion are not covered under warranty.
Does it have a torque sensor and a throttle?
Both. A torque sensor with SensorSwap (switch to cadence for relaxed cruising), 3 riding modes and 5 assist levels, and a removable trigger throttle with up to 72 km of throttle-only range, per Velotric. Its manual also lists cruise control. Pedal assist vs throttle →
How does the Fold 1 Plus arrive, and is assembly hard?
It arrives folded with a toolkit. Velotric’s manual has you fit the kickstand and derailleur protector, straighten the stem, fit the front wheel, the front fender and light, the reflectors and the pedals. Velotric has no assembly video for this model; your first month of Zeus Care includes assembly walkthroughs by phone or video. Velotric’s owner’s manual →
What warranty comes with the Fold 1 Plus?
Velotric’s Canadian warranty policy (read 17 October 2026) covers the electrical components for 2 years: the motor, throttle, control panel, controller, wiring harness, lights, sensor, Find My and IoT modules, and charger, with the battery covered for up to 300 charge cycles in that time (Velotric says it is designed to keep up to 75% of its capacity over them). Other essential parts (suspension fork, stem, handlebar, headset, brakes except pads, bottom bracket, crankset, pedals, kickstand, rims, hubs, freewheel, derailleur and shifter) and accessories are covered for 1 year. Tires, tubes, brake pads, cables and housing, grips, chain, spokes, paint and graphics are not covered, and coverage is for the first owner. The same policy also says third-party components such as drivetrain, brake or suspension parts are not covered by it, and its 5-year frame line names only the T1 and T1 ST; where its wording leaves a question, we get Velotric’s answer for you before you buy. These are Velotric’s own published Canadian terms (the limited warranty printed in its manual applies to US purchases only), backed by Velotric in full. Velotric’s policy sends buyers who bought through a dealer to that dealer, which is us, and we handle the claim with Velotric for you. Your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim with Velotric and follow it up. Zeus Care plans run $119 for 1 year, $229 for 2, $339 for 3 and $599 for 5; they are a service, not added parts coverage. Returns are 15 days from delivery on unused, unopened items, with a 15% restocking fee and return shipping paid by you. Warranty & Zeus Care →
Are there reviews of the Fold 1 Plus?
There are no Zeus customer reviews of the Fold 1 Plus yet. Velotric’s own Canadian page for it shows three video reviews from other YouTube channels: Scott Hardesty’s, Mike Fede’s and TailHappyTV’s (all posted 10 April 2025). YouTube labels Scott Hardesty’s and Mike Fede’s as including paid promotion; TailHappyTV’s description carries the creator’s affiliate links. Speeds and prices in reviews made outside Canada won’t match this page, which uses Velotric Canada’s figures. Or call us at 1-866-938-7580 and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s right for you.
