Samebike CY20 Folding Commuter Electric Bike
Samebike CY20: a Folding Commuter E-Bike Samebike Sizes for Riders From 4′7″
The Samebike CY20 is a 20-inch folding commuter e-bike with a 350 W rear hub motor (45+ N·m), a 36 V 13 Ah battery (468 Wh) that Samebike calls seat-integrated and removable, 20 × 2.35″ tires, a Shimano 7-speed, mechanical disc brakes and a front suspension fork. Samebike Canada lists 32 km/h, 45–90 km of range, a 150 kg maximum load and a 28 kg (61.7 lb) bike that folds to 0.85 × 0.53 × 0.69 m.
It is the Samebike for shorter riders: Samebike’s chart recommends 4′7″–5′8″, the lowest range of any Samebike bike we carry. The seat figures vary by page (32–38″ on the Canadian chart, 31.89–37.80″ in its pop-up, 810–900 mm on the US chart), so below are all of them, every frame measurement, and how to check the fit with your own inseam.
Who it suits: shorter riders and commuters who need a bike that folds into a car trunk or a corner (Samebike’s words) and carries up to 150 kg. It is not light to lift: owners in Samebike’s own review summaries call it “very heavy”.

⚠️ Canadian legal note
Canada’s federal e-bike definition was repealed in 2021, and the rules are now provincial: they converge on a motor of 500 W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h (Nova Scotia’s 30 km/h ended on 19 October 2026) and working pedals. Provinces also set their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules.
Samebike Canada lists the CY20 at 350 W and 32 km/h, and its manual at 20 mph (32 km/h), inside those limits; Samebike’s global and UK pages list the European version at 250 W and 25 km/h. Its French page adds that the European version’s 25 km/h default can be unlocked “to reach 35KM/H or higher” with instructions from customer service. A bike that assists past 32 km/h is outside the limits the provincial rules converge on; call us at 1-866-938-7580 and we will tell you how the unit we ship is set. Check your province for age, helmet and throttle rules. Canadian e-bike laws by province →
Samebike CY20 Size Chart: Rider Height, Seat Height and Every Dimension
Samebike publishes the CY20’s fit on its Canadian page as a Size & Fit chart, a Size & Fit pop-up and a Specification tab; its US page adds a millimetre chart, and its manual a specification table. We read them all on 19 October 2026, with the global, UK, German and French pages. The Canadian chart, pop-up and global page agree within rounding; the US chart and the French page print other seat heights.
Will the CY20 fit you? Samebike’s numbers

How to Check the Fit Before You Order
- Go by the seat range, not only the height range. Samebike’s rider-height range is guidance; whether your leg works on the bike depends on the saddle. A review of the research on saddle height found the methods “varied and not well established” and suggested setting the saddle so the knee is bent 25–30° at the bottom of the pedal stroke (Bini, Hume and Croft, Sports Medicine, 2011; the paper →).
- Measure your inseam (floor to crotch, in socks, against a wall) and send it to us with your height. Samebike’s pages put the lowest seat setting between 30″ and 32″; we will check yours against them before you order: 1-866-938-7580.
- Plan for the lift. At 28 kg, Samebike’s owner summaries say it “takes some muscle to lift onto a rack”. The seat-integrated battery comes out for charging.
- Check where it will live folded: 0.85 × 0.53 × 0.69 m on Samebike Canada’s figures.
Where Samebike’s Own Figures Differ

Key Features
- Folds for a car trunk or a corner — Samebike: “it can be stored in a car trunk or a corner”; folded size 0.85 × 0.53 × 0.69 m. Folding e-bikes in Canada →
- 350 W gear motor in the 20-inch rear wheel, 45+ N·m — five pedal-assist levels and a detachable throttle (Samebike UK); Samebike’s manual rates it for a 20° climb.
- 468 Wh seat-integrated battery — Samebike: “a 468Wh seat-integrated portable battery, which can be effortlessly removed for home charging”; up to 90 km in pedal-assist level 1 for a 75 kg rider on a flat road. Battery care in Canada →
- Front fork and seat suspension — Samebike calls it “Double Shock Suspension”.
- 20 × 2.35″ tires with reflective strips — Samebike says the thickened, widened tires “are more resistant to punctures”.
- Lights, display and charging — front and rear LED lights, a colour display for speed, battery and distance, a phone holder, USB ports, and an electric horn (manual).
- Shimano 7-speed and mechanical disc brakes, on a high-carbon steel frame with an adjustable handlebar.
- An extended rear seat cushion — Samebike: “Lengthened and thickened for greater comfort”. Samebike lists no passenger rating; the 150 kg maximum load counts everyone and everything on the bike.
The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy
- The seat figures do not line up with each other. Samebike’s chart says riders from 4′7″, but the lowest seat setting it prints is 32″ on the Canadian chart (30″ on the French page, 810 mm on the US chart). Riders at the bottom of the height range should send us their inseam before ordering.
- It is heavy for a folder. 28 kg on Samebike Canada’s page; owners in Samebike’s review summaries call it “very heavy” and “extremely heavy” to lift.
- Water resistance is printed three ways. IP64 for the whole bike in Samebike’s FAQ, IP54 for the bike and IP64 for the motor, battery and display in its German FAQ, IP54 in its manual. Samebike’s own advice is to avoid riding in heavy rain.
If those fit how you ride (a folding commuter for a shorter rider, rated 150 kg), the CY20 has the lowest rider range of the Samebike bikes we carry.

Who Is the CY20 For?
- Shorter riders — Samebike sizes it from 4′7″. Fit-first picks for women →
- Commuters with a car, condo or RV — Samebike’s own pitch: “perfect for city riding and commuting, and can also be carried for travel”. More folding e-bikes →
- Riders who want a 150 kg rating on a 20-inch folder — higher than the 20LVXD30-II’s 120 kg.
- Older riders — 20-inch wheels and seat suspension. E-bikes for seniors →
Who it’s NOT for: anyone who must lift the bike often (28 kg; the 20LVXD30-II is 25 kg); riders over 5′8″ (the 20LVXD30-II and LOTDM200-II are sized to 6′3″); riders who want fat tires (the LOTDM200-II and RS-A02 Pro run 20 × 4″); and anyone who rides in heavy rain often, which Samebike’s own FAQ advises against.

Warranty and Zeus Care
Your Samebike CY20 is backed by Samebike in full, on Samebike Canada’s own published terms (read 19 October 2026): the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year, for the original owner, from the day the original owner receives the bike. Samebike describes the battery cover as a 1-year prorated warranty, and a frame claim covers a replacement frame only (labour to move parts across is not included). Free parts that come with the bike are not covered, and neither is a stolen bike. Samebike’s product page for this bike also prints “12 Months Warranty” (“our manufacturer’s 12 months warranty for the original owner against all manufacturing defects”); its warranty policy is the longer of the two for the frame.
Not covered, in Samebike’s words: damage from accident, abuse, misuse or abnormal use, improper storage, exposure to liquid or chemicals, ordinary wear and tear, cosmetic damage, and damage from assembly, maintenance or repair that varies from Samebike’s instructions.
Zeus handles the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim and follow it up, and assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are part of it. Zeus Care plans continue that service for $119 (1 year), $229 (2 years), $339 (3 years) or $599 (5 years); Zeus Care is a service, not a warranty, and does not add coverage (prices in CAD, October 2026). Frequently Asked Questions
What riders ask about the CY20
What height rider does the Samebike CY20 fit?
Samebike’s chart recommends 4′7″–5′8″, the lowest range of the Samebike bikes we carry. The seat goes from 32″ to 38″ on the Canadian chart (31.89–37.80″ in the pop-up). If you are near either end, send us your inseam and height first (1-866-938-7580). Full size chart →
Will my feet reach the ground on the CY20?
It depends on your inseam against the seat height, which Samebike prints as 32″ at its lowest on the Canadian chart, 31.89″ in its pop-up and 810 mm on its US chart, and on how high you set the saddle. Tell us your inseam and we will check it against Samebike’s figures: 1-866-938-7580.
How much does the CY20 weigh, and how much can it carry?
28 kg on Samebike Canada’s page (61.7 lb on its chart, 61 lb in its manual); Samebike’s US page says 25 kg. Maximum load is 150 kg (330 lb), rider plus cargo.
Will the CY20 fit in my car trunk?
Samebike says it can be folded and stored in the trunk of a car, folded to 0.85 × 0.53 × 0.69 m (about 33.5 × 20.9 × 27.2″). Measure your trunk against that, and plan on 28 kg to lift.
What are the CY20’s dimensions?
Samebike Canada: 67.32″ long, a 44.88″ wheelbase, 42.13–46.85″ tall depending on the handlebar, and 23.62″ across the bar; its manual gives 1710 × 600 × 1190 mm and a shipping box of 1420 × 230 × 670 mm. Every dimension →
Can I ride the CY20 in the rain?
Samebike’s own answer is to avoid heavy rain, which it says “may affect battery life and reduce traction”. Its FAQ says the whole bike meets IP64; its German FAQ says IP54 for the bike and IP64 for the motor, battery and display; its manual says IP54.
What is the difference between the CY20 and the CY20 Pro?
We carry the CY20. On Samebike Canada’s pages, the CY20 Pro lists a 500 W motor and a 48 V 13 Ah battery (the CY20: 350 W, 36 V 13 Ah), 20 × 3.0″ tires (CY20: 20 × 2.35″), 31 kg (CY20: 28 kg) and up to 100 km of range; both are rated 150 kg.
Is the battery removable, and how long does it take to charge?
Yes: Samebike calls it “a 468Wh seat-integrated portable battery, which can be effortlessly removed for home charging”. Samebike Canada lists 6–8 hours to charge; its UK and US pages say 4–6. Battery care in the cold →
Is the CY20 legal in Canada?
Samebike Canada lists 350 W and 32 km/h (20 mph in its manual), inside the limits the provincial rules converge on. Provinces add their own ages, helmet rules and throttle rules. Canadian e-bike laws →
Are there reviews of the Samebike CY20?
Samebike’s global page shows an AI-selected summary of its customer reviews: owners praise the response, build quality, value, hill performance and a battery lasting “60+ km”; weight is the common concern (“very heavy”), with some gear and brake-noise issues. Samebike’s UK summary adds uncomfortable seats, flimsy baskets and confusing manuals. For an independent English video, BACONBUTTTIES EBIKE Review HUB posted an unboxing, test ride and review on YouTube in April 2024.
What warranty comes with the CY20?
Samebike backs the Samebike CY20 in full on Samebike Canada’s published terms: its warranty policy covers the frame for 3 years, and batteries, motors and other accessories for 1 year (the battery on a prorated basis), and its product page says 12 months; for the original owner. Zeus files and follows up the claim with Samebike for you, and your first month of Zeus Care is included. Warranty details →
How long does delivery take?
Free shipping anywhere we deliver in Canada. Orders are processed in 1–3 business days after we confirm them, then take 2–7 business days in transit depending on where you live, and the tracking number comes by email. We do not ship to P.O. boxes or remote communities, so call us first at 1-866-938-7580 if you live in one. Shipping policy →
