YVY C20 Mini 20" Folding Fat Tire Electric Bike — 1000W, 720 Wh
Full Suspension. Folds in Seconds. Handles Whatever Canada Throws at It.
Most compact eBikes make a trade: shrink the bike, shrink the capability. The YVY C20 Mini doesn't play that game. You get a 1,000W hub motor, a 720 Wh removable battery, 20″×4.0″ CST fat tires, 7-speed Shimano gearing, and a full suspension setup — front fork plus rear hydraulic dual shock — all on a frame that folds and fits in a car trunk, a storage locker, or a corner of your apartment. That's the deal.
The 330 lb (150 kg) payload rating puts it in a category most "mini" bikes can't touch. The IP65 waterproof rating means rain, slush, and a wet Canadian spring are non-events. Range runs ~50 km on throttle and up to 80 km on pedal assist — enough for a full week of urban commuting on a single charge. Every ride starts with five levels of pedal assist, pure throttle, or pure pedal — your call.

Watch It In Action
Why the C20 Mini Is in a Category of Its Own
The compact eBike market splits cleanly into two camps: folding bikes that sacrifice ride quality to hit a weight target, and capable bikes that are too big to store. The C20 Mini sits at the intersection that neither camp occupies. It folds. It's compact. And it's built to the same spec standard as full-size trail bikes — full suspension, Shimano drivetrain, fat tires, and a battery large enough to actually commute on.
The rear hydraulic dual shock is the detail that earns this bike its price. Budget folding eBikes use rigid rear frames or cheap coil springs. The C20 Mini uses hydraulic damping — the same principle as bikes at double the price. On broken pavement, gravel paths, and the kind of frost-heaved city sidewalks that define spring in most Canadian cities, that suspension is the difference between a bike you ride daily and one you leave in the closet.
The removable 48V 15Ah battery is the other key detail. Take it inside to charge — no running extension cords to your balcony, no leaving the bike locked outside overnight with the battery exposed. For apartment and condo riders, that's not a convenience feature. It's a requirement.
Key Features
1,000W Brushless Hub Motor — 75 Nm torque — Rated 1,000W continuous, the hub motor handles 25° inclines without breaking a sweat. 75 Nm of torque means the C20 Mini accelerates confidently from a stop — no pedalling to build momentum before engaging the throttle. For stop-and-go urban riding, that responsiveness matters more than peak wattage.
720 Wh Removable Battery — Up to 80 km range — The 48V 15Ah (720 Wh) pack is large for a compact bike. Most folding eBikes at this price use 360–504 Wh packs; the C20 Mini nearly doubles that. Charge time is 4–6 hours on the included charger. The battery locks in with a keyed slot and lifts out in seconds — charge it at your desk, in your kitchen, or in a hotel room. In Canadian winters, a larger battery matters even more: cold temperatures reduce effective range by 15–30%, and the C20 Mini’s headroom absorbs that loss without leaving you stranded.
Full Suspension — Front fork + rear hydraulic dual shock — Both wheels move independently over rough terrain. The front fork handles the initial hit; the rear hydraulic shock absorbers control compression and rebound on the back end. The result is a planted, controlled ride on gravel paths, cracked asphalt, and hardpack trails — not just a softened urban commuter.
20″×4.0″ CST Fat Tires — All-terrain capable — CST is one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world; these aren’t generic house-brand rubber. The 4.0″ width runs at lower pressure for a larger contact patch, which translates to grip on wet pavement, loose gravel, packed snow, and sand. You don’t need to think about the terrain — just ride. For a deeper look at why fat tyres matter year-round in Canada, see our fat tire eBike guide.
7-Speed Shimano Drivetrain — Shimano gearing on a folding bike is not a given at this price. Seven gears give you a usable range from low-cadence hill climbing to high-cadence flat riding, and Shimano’s mechanical shifting is proven, serviceable, and easy to adjust at any bike shop in Canada. Budget folding eBikes often use single-speed or no-name 6-speed systems that can’t be serviced locally — Shimano can.
IP65 Waterproof Rating — IP65 means protected against dust ingress and sustained water jets from any direction. Ride it in rain. Hose it down after a muddy trail. Leave it locked outside in a downpour. The motor, controller, and display are all rated to handle it. For Canadian commuters who need year-round reliability, that’s a minimum standard, not a bonus feature.
Cadence Pedal Assist (5 Levels) + Thumb Throttle — Five levels of pedal assist let you dial in how much work you do — from barely assisted (Level 1, maximum range) to near-full electric (Level 5, maximum speed). The thumb throttle engages the motor on demand without pedalling. Both modes work simultaneously or independently. See our guide on pedal assist vs. throttle to understand which setting works best for your commute.
LCD Display with USB Charging Port — The waterproof LCD shows speed, battery level, pedal assist level, trip distance, and odometer in real time. The integrated USB port on the display keeps your phone charged on longer rides — a practical detail that’s missing on most bikes at this price.
Folding Frame — Fits a car trunk or storage locker — The frame folds at the stem and the main tube. Folded dimensions: approximately 148 cm × 28 cm × 78 cm. At 66 lbs (30 kg), it’s not a one-hand carry, but it’s manageable with two — roll it on the rear wheel like a dolly once folded. For building storage rooms, underground garages, or the back of an SUV, the compact folded profile solves a storage problem that a full-size eBike can’t.

The Honest Take — What We’d Change
Cadence sensor, not torque sensor. The pedal assist responds to whether you’re pedalling, not how hard. On a flat commute, that’s invisible. On a steep hill where you want more power as you push harder, a torque sensor would feel more natural. At this price point, cadence sensors are standard — torque sensors typically start around $2,500+ CAD — but it’s a real difference worth knowing about before you buy.
Mechanical disc brakes. The brakes stop the bike reliably, but hydraulic disc brakes — standard on bikes at $2,000+ — offer more modulation (finer control between “slowing down” and “stopped”) and require less hand force. For most urban riding, mechanicals are fine. If you’re hauling near the 330 lb payload limit on hilly terrain, it’s something to be aware of.
It weighs 66 lbs. That’s honest. Folding it and carrying it up stairs is a two-person job or a workout. The folding feature is most practical for car-to-trail transfers and storage-room access — not subway stairs.
Those trade-offs noted, the suspension, the battery size, the Shimano gearing, and the 330 lb payload are things you genuinely do not find on folding fat tire bikes at this price. The C20 Mini gives up finish-level premium for functional capability — and for riders who actually ride their bikes, that’s the right trade.

Who Is This Bike For?
Apartment and condo riders — If your storage situation is “inside the unit or nothing,” the C20 Mini is built for you. It folds small enough to park next to your couch, the battery removes and charges from any outlet, and the 20″ wheel size keeps the folded footprint compact. You don’t need a bike room, a balcony, or a dedicated storage locker.
Heavier riders who want a compact bike — The 330 lb (150 kg) payload puts the C20 Mini above most compact and folding eBikes, which typically cap at 264–280 lbs. If you’ve been ruled out of the compact category by payload specs, this bike re-opens it. Browse our full eBike lineup for more options across every category.
Commuters who drive + ride — The C20 Mini fits in most car trunks and SUV cargo areas folded. That makes it practical for drive-to-trailhead rides, transit+ride combos, and keeping a bike at the office without needing bike parking. At 66 lbs, it’s not a one-hand lift but it’s manageable with a bit of effort on wheels.
Year-round urban riders — IP65 waterproofing and 4.0″ fat tyres handle the full range of Canadian urban riding: wet spring pavement, summer bike paths, packed fall gravel, and light winter hardpack. The full suspension absorbs the frost-heave damage that makes spring riding brutal on rigid bikes. If you ride in all weather, this bike is equipped for it.
Who it’s NOT for: If you want a long-distance touring bike, a high-speed commuter, or a technical trail machine, the C20 Mini isn’t the right tool. For longer daily commutes over 50 km or serious off-road trail riding, look at the Ridstar Q20 1500W (full-size, more power) or browse our mountain eBike collection. If you want hydraulic brakes and a torque sensor in a compact package, the budget needs to be closer to $2,500+.

Choose the C20 Mini if you need a folding fat tire with a 330 lb payload and the ability to operate within PAB limits — it’s the only foldable option in this group. Choose the GT33 if you want more battery (1,296 Wh) and hydraulic brakes at the same price, and storage isn’t a constraint. Choose the ZM22 for the highest payload (350 lbs), GPS, and premium suspension at $400 more. Choose the C22 or Recon if you want a pure performance machine — both exceed PAB limits and require registration in most provinces.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the YVY C20 Mini legal to ride in Canada?
In Canada, eBikes must meet the federal Power-Assisted Bicycle (PAB) standard: motor ≤500W continuous, top speed ≤32 km/h, functional pedals. The C20 Mini’s motor is rated at 1,000W and can exceed 32 km/h in unrestricted mode — which means it may be classified as a motor vehicle in some provinces depending on configuration. Many riders operate it in restricted/limited mode (25 km/h, within PAB spec). Provincial rules vary. Read our complete eBike laws guide by province and confirm with your local authority before riding on public roads.
How far will it actually go in Canadian winter conditions?
Cold temperatures reduce lithium battery output. At −10°C to −15°C, expect 15–25% range reduction compared to summer performance. On throttle, plan for 35–40 km in winter; on pedal assist, 55–65 km is realistic. Storing the battery indoors overnight (not in a cold garage) maintains its capacity and extends its life. The fat tyres handle packed snow and hardpack well; ice is a different story — traction aids (studded tyres) are available as an upgrade.
Can I carry a passenger or cargo?
The 330 lb (150 kg) payload rating covers rider + gear. There is no factory-rated passenger seating — the rear rack is rated for cargo only. For regular cargo hauling, add a rear rack bag or panniers to the existing rack. If you regularly carry heavy loads, factor in that the mechanical disc brakes are working harder at combined weights near the payload ceiling.
Is the battery removable and can I get a spare?
Yes — the 48V 15Ah battery slides out with a key lock. Replacement and spare batteries are available in our store. We also carry the Ridstar Q20 battery which is compatible with the C20 Mini. Charging the battery indoors (not in extreme cold or heat) significantly extends its cycle life.
How do I finance this purchase?
We offer flexible financing options through our store. Read our complete guide to financing an eBike in Canada, or call us at 1-866-938-7580 to discuss payment options before you order.
What assembly is required on delivery?
The C20 Mini ships partially assembled. Final setup requires attaching the handlebars, pedals, and front wheel, and adjusting seat height and brake cables. No specialist tools are required. The included manual covers the steps. If you prefer professional assembly, most local bike shops will do a setup check for a small fee.
What does the warranty cover?
The C20 Mini comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty covering the motor, battery, and charger against manufacturing defects under normal use. Physical damage from crashes, water damage beyond the IP65 rating, and wear items (tyres, brake pads, cables) are not covered. Contact us at milad@zeusebikes.ca or call 1-866-938-7580 for warranty claims — we handle them directly, no overseas back-and-forth.
