YVY K20 Electric Bike on Amazon.ca: Who Sells It, Who Fixes It

If you searched for a YVY electric bike on Amazon.ca and landed on the K20, the $1,099 to $1,199 fat-tire moto-style e-bike with a $100 delivery charge, read this before you check out. It is the same bike Ridstar sold in Canada for years and the same bike we sell as the YVY Upgraded C20. This is Zeus eBikes, a Canadian electric-bike retailer based in Ontario, and we know the bike well. That is not the reason to keep reading.

The reason is who is selling it, what Amazon's own rules say happens after day 30, and what happened the last time this exact bike was sold to Canadians this way. All three have documented answers. We pulled every one from the source pages on September 11, 2026, and linked them so you can check us.

The listing, decoded: what it says and what it leaves out

On September 11, 2026, a search for "YVY electric bike" on Amazon.ca returned, as a paid placement marked Sponsored, a listing for a 1500W, 20-inch fat-tire, full-suspension e-bike at $1,099, ranked #49 in Adult Electric Bicycles, with a $100 delivery charge and a delivery window ten to eighteen days out. Get this decision wrong and you own a 40-kilogram machine whose warranty runs through a seller Amazon itself describes as newly launched. This article walks you through the three questions that decide it: who is selling, who fixes it, and what the price actually buys.

The listing is real, the bike is real, and the specifications are ordinary for the class. What is missing is anything a Canadian could act on when something goes wrong: no address, no phone number, no named standard behind the word "certified," and no ship-from location. Here is the page reduced to what it actually states.

YVY K20 reviews and complaints: what actually exists

If you searched "yvy ebike reviews and complaints" or "yvy k20 review," here is the entire public record we could find on September 11, 2026, with its dates. On the Amazon.ca listing itself, the 20Ah K20 carries four five-star ratings: three posted on the same day, July 29, 2026, none of them marked Verified Purchase, and a fourth on August 28 that is. The K20 Lite shows 48 ratings pooled with the US listing, 13 percent of them one-star, and every review displayed was written in the United States. The r/ebikes archive holds 17 YVY threads since October 2025; the ones that matter here are "YVY ebike. Seems too good to be true?" (January 1, 2026), "Where can I get a YVY C20 in Canada" (January 18, 2026, one reply, which named Zeus), and "YVY bike purchased through Amazon and not working" (August 17, 2026), quoted in the warranty section below. On Trustpilot, read the same day, ridstar.eu holds 47 reviews and a TrustScore of 2.6, ridstar.net 7 reviews at 2.5, and ridstar.com 2 reviews at 2.9, both one-star; the more recent of the two, from May 2026, says that with the bike still under warranty neither Amazon nor Ridstar/YVY was interested in helping. Trustpilot has no page at all for yvyebike.com, yvy-ebike.com, ridstar.co.uk or ridstar.ca. And our own phone record, counted below, holds 19 first-person accounts of a marketplace e-bike order that never arrived, was cancelled or was refunded. That is the review corpus. It is thin on the bike and heavy on the channel.

Who is actually selling the YVY K20 on Amazon.ca

A trading company whose business name and address, as disclosed on its Amazon.com seller profile, are in Shenzhen, China, selling under the store name "CykeJoy Ebike US," with a Canadian storefront that Amazon.ca labels "Just launched" and shows with no feedback at all. Amazon.ca shows you only the store name. Amazon.com, for the same seller ID, shows the registered business behind it.

We found no website for the seller, and a web search for the store name returns only Amazon pages. The word "US" in the name is a store name; the registered business Amazon discloses is in Shenzhen. None of that is an accusation. A Shenzhen trading company is entitled to sell on Amazon.ca, and this one's American feedback is mostly positive. It is a description of who your contract is with, because Amazon's Conditions of Use say so in plain words: "you are purchasing directly from those third parties, not from Amazon."

Three sellers, four listings: the whole population

We did not stop at one listing. Five searches on September 11 returned 24 YVY-titled results on Amazon.ca. Twenty were parts and accessories. Four were bikes, from three sellers.

None of the four is sold by YVY. None is Fulfilled by Amazon or Prime-eligible. All three sellers' Amazon.com disclosures place the business in Guangdong. Walmart.ca, for comparison, carries a separate 750W YVY model at $1,299 "Sold and shipped by YVY Ebike," a marketplace seller trading under the brand's own name. On Amazon.ca, the brand itself is nowhere on the page.

Same bike, three badges: K20, C20 and the Ridstar Q20

The K20 is the US-market name of the bike sold as the YVY C20 in Canada and Europe, and as the Ridstar Q20 before the brand renamed itself. Ridstar's own European site says the C20 "is technically identical to the Ridstar Q20," and YVY's warranty page still lists the "YVY Upgraded Q20 1500W" among its covered products. Zeus stocks one replacement controller listed for both.

Our own service team tells customers the same thing on the phone: the C20 and the Q20 are the same bike with different stickers. The frame, the 48V 20Ah battery, the 1,000W hub motor rated to 1,500W peak, the 20-by-4-inch tires, the hydraulic brakes and the parts are shared. What changed in 2026 is not the bike. What $1,099 actually buys: the landed-price table

The K20 Lite lands at $1,199 and the K20 at $1,299 after the $100 delivery charge, which is $350 less than the same bike from Zeus and $667 less than ridstar.com charges a Canadian for the C20. The gap is real. So is what it buys and what it does not, and we are not going to pretend $350 is nothing.

What the extra $350 buys at Zeus is not a different bike. It is a counterparty: a Canadian company operating from Ontario that has to keep answering the phone to keep selling, a toll-free line a person picks up, replacement parts on a shelf in Canada, and the first month of Zeus Care included, which means we file and follow the warranty claim instead of you. Our returns policy is not softer than Amazon's: unused and unopened within 15 days, a 15 percent restocking fee and return shipping at your cost unless the error is ours. We are not gentler. We are reachable, and we are in your jurisdiction.

What one failure costs after day 30

The saving is $350. Here is what the first out-of-window failure costs on this platform at our Canadian parts prices on September 11, 2026. The battery or the motor alone costs more than the saving; a controller and a display together come within $32 of it. One thing the table cannot show: a controller or a motor is not an off-the-shelf part. It is matched to the bike before it ships, against the serial number on the motor and a photo of the existing controller, which is why our own listings for both ask for exactly that. We do that matching routinely for a bike we sold. For a bike bought elsewhere it depends on the owner supplying the numbers and photos, and on the part still being made for that batch. The seller's Amazon.ca storefront lists no parts for this bike, and YVY's own page offers out-of-warranty help "at material cost," by email.

Day 1 to day 365: who you call when the YVY K20 breaks

Amazon, YVY and the seller each point at someone else after day 30. Amazon's help page tells you to contact the manufacturer once a defect appears more than 30 days after delivery. YVY's contact page tells you to go back to the shop you bought from. The shop is a marketplace storefront with no phone number, an expected reply time of 48 hours, and no feedback history in Canada.

Here is YVY's own wording, unedited. Its contact page: "Notice: For warranty, please contact the shop where you bought the bike, unless you bought it from yvyebike.com." Its warranty page excludes a claim when the "product requested for warranty has no associated purchasing proof/invoice/receipt, or no authorized YVY dealers help to confirm," and again when there is "abuse of online third-party marketplace store policy." The routes it gives for help are an email address and a web form, with no telephone number on the warranty page, and its company page names the business as HK RIDSTAR TRADE LIMITED at an address in Hung Hom, Kowloon.

Here is Amazon's, also unedited. Its third-party ordering page: "The seller also handles the Customer Service. Amazon.ca isn't directly involved in the completion of third-party sales." Its claim time-frame page: "If the item becomes defective more than 30 days after the delivery date and is under warranty period or manufacturer guarantee, contact the manufacturer for a repair or replacement." Its A-to-z page gives you 90 days after the latest estimated delivery date to claim, and only for non-receipt, an item not as described, or a seller that failed to provide "a return address within Canada," a prepaid label with valid tracking, or a full refund.

"Contacted YVY and they directed me back to Amazon. The bike was sold through the storefront CykeJoy eBike US and just sent a message through Amazons messaging feature and was told they they would "respond in a few days", and the support chat feature is non functioning." A buyer on r/ebikes, August 17, 2026, after a K20 Lite failed within 24 hours of delivery. Quoted as posted.

That account is a US purchase from the same seller ID that now lists the bike on Amazon.ca, and it is one buyer's experience; we cannot prove a pattern from it. We include it because it is the only public, dated description we could find of what a warranty contact with this seller looks like, and because it matches the structure of the rules above: the brand sends you to the seller, the seller's reply in that account was that it would answer in days, and Amazon steps in only inside its windows.

What if the seller is gone in three months?

Then there is no one left to call, and every rule above says so. Amazon's guarantee has closed or is closing, Amazon's page sends you to the manufacturer, the manufacturer's page sends you to the shop, and the shop is a storefront that no longer exists. Your credit card is the last door, and under Visa's published rules it shuts 120 days after you paid or received the bike (other networks publish their own limits). After that, your remaining route is an email, with proof of purchase, to a company whose published address is in Hong Kong and whose own terms say a claim without an authorized dealer's confirmation is excluded.

Amazon does offer one further protection worth knowing exactly. Its A-to-z Guarantee for Property Damage and Personal Injury pays up to $1 million plus the purchase price if a defective product bought on Amazon.ca causes injury or property damage and you claim within 90 days of the incident. Its own terms describe it as "not insurance or a warranty." It covers the house, not the bike.

Where the law leaves you

Quebec buyers have one more lever. The province's consumer office states that you may pursue "the merchant, the manufacturer, or both" and that "a merchant may not require that you deal with the manufacturer." Both parties here are outside Canada, and Amazon.ca displays no Canadian address for the seller. We could not retrieve the Ontario statute text through the province's site on the day of writing, so we do not quote it.

What a warranty "call" looks like

There is no call. The listing promises "24-hour fast-response customer service" and provides no channel for it beyond Amazon's Buyer-Seller Messaging, where Amazon's own guidance is to allow the seller 48 hours. YVY's warranty page gives an email address and no telephone number. Its website header carries a +1-202 number that its warranty page never mentions. We could not find a Canadian or toll-free number for YVY, for the seller, or for any of the three Amazon.ca sellers, on any page we archived. The seller's own Amazon.com profile carries one piece of feedback that mentions warranty, a four-star note from July 25, 2026: "Need to contact seller for a warranty claim power cable broke and pedal on right side."

What happened the last time this bike was sold this way on Amazon.ca

In 2024 and 2025 the Ridstar Q20 was sold on Amazon.ca by third-party sellers at low headline prices with large delivery fees. Canadians reported orders that never arrived and were refunded through A-to-z, reviews they could not post, and sellers that disappeared and relisted. By May 2026 Amazon.ca had removed the Q20 and Q20 Pro entirely and sent safety notifications to past buyers, including buyers who never received a bike. The same bike is now back under a different badge from newly launched sellers.

• November 2025. We documented the Amazon.ca pattern in Ridstar e-bikes on Amazon Canada: what buyers report: seller-fulfilled listings, ships-from-China windows of four to eight weeks, low item prices with delivery fees of several hundred dollars, and non-delivery resolved only through A-to-z.
• March 19, 2026. The US CPSC published a warning, not a recall, on the Ridstar Q20 and Q20 Pro after the manufacturer refused to agree to a recall. It named the brand printed on the battery, "Ridstar," and the US retailers that sold it.
• May 2026. Our Canadian audit of the Ridstar warning recorded that Amazon.ca no longer carried a single Ridstar Q20 or Q20 Pro, and that Amazon's May 14 product-safety notification reached Canadians with a Ridstar order in their history, including customers whose order had already been refunded for non-delivery.
• July 2026. Ridstar told us it had stopped shipping to Canada and would sell as YVY; we published the explainer on July 30.
• September 11, 2026. Four YVY listings for the same platform on Amazon.ca, three sellers, all registered in Guangdong, two of them "Just launched."

Two patterns from those calls are worth naming because they decide what "protection" means. First, several callers who received an A-to-z refund said they were then unable to leave a review on the listing, which is why a listing can carry a clean rating while the refunds pile up behind it. Second, callers described the seller they bought from becoming unavailable and the same listing reappearing under a new store name. We cannot see Amazon's internal rules, and we are not asserting how they work. We are reporting what Canadians told us on the phone, in numbers.

A word on safety, stated exactly

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a public warning, not a recall, on March 19, 2026, naming the Ridstar Q20 and Q20 Pro after the manufacturer refused to agree to an acceptable recall. YVY is not named in it. Health Canada's recalls database returned no result for "Ridstar" or "YVY" on September 11, 2026, and it returned results for a control search on the same day. Our own support record on this platform contains no verified fire incident; one allegation received in April 2026 was reviewed against the photographs supplied and not substantiated. We are telling you that if anything on it ever needs attention, the channel you bought through decides whether anyone answers.

If you already bought one: the five-step protocol

If the K20 is already in your garage, the clock is running on three separate windows and the order in which you act matters. Every step below is drawn from the rules quoted above.

1. Archive the listing today. Screenshot the product page, the seller profile, your order and every message. Amazon keeps Buyer-Seller Messaging copies, and its own page says those copies can support an A-to-z claim.
2. Test everything inside 30 days of delivery. Brakes, throttle, display, charger, every assist level, a full charge cycle. Amazon's window to contact the seller about a defective or not-as-described item is 30 days after you receive it, with the return postmarked within 45 days of delivery.
3. Message the seller through Amazon, then escalate at 48 hours. Amazon's own guidance: if the seller does not respond within 48 hours, request an A-to-z refund. You have 90 days after the latest estimated delivery date to file.
4. Open a card dispute before day 120. Visa's rules allow a defective-merchandise dispute within 120 calendar days of the transaction or of the date you received the bike. Note that Amazon's A-to-z is not available if you have already charged back, so choose the route and document it.
5. For a warranty issue after day 30, go to the brand in writing. Email support@ridstar.net with your Amazon order number, invoice and photos, because YVY's terms exclude claims without proof of purchase. Keep every reply. For parts, call us: we stock eight Ridstar/YVY parts in Ontario, and a controller or motor is matched to your bike before it ships, so have the serial number on the motor and a photo of your controller ready. We sell parts to any rider whose bike we can match. We cannot warranty a bike we did not sell.

The same bike from a Canadian dealer

If what you actually want is this bike, the 20-inch fat-tire moto-style platform with full suspension and hydraulic brakes, you can buy it from a company in your own jurisdiction. The extra $350 buys nothing on the day you order. It buys the day it breaks: who answers, what the part costs, and how long you wait. This is the K20 with a C20 sticker and an Ontario address behind it: the same 20-by-4-inch fat-tire cruiser, twist throttle, dual-crown fork, rear hydraulic shock, cadence sensor, and a speed limiter set at 55 km/h, which makes it a private-property machine under most Canadian road rules. Its honest limitation is weight and steel: it is a heavy bike to lift and it will not pedal like a bicycle with the power off. Yes, per the brand's own pages. Ridstar's European site says the YVY C20 "is technically identical to the Ridstar Q20." YVY's warranty page lists the "YVY Upgraded Q20 1500W" among its warranted products, and the K20 is the US-market name for the same 20-inch fat-tire platform. Zeus stocks one replacement controller listed for both the Q20 and the C20.

How far does the YVY K20 go on a charge?

The Amazon listing claims up to 100 miles of assisted range and 30 miles on throttle alone from the 48V 20Ah (960 Wh) battery. Our product page for the same bike lists a claimed 65 to 120 km. Both are claims by the manufacturer or the seller; nobody has tested them. A 960 Wh pack on a 40-kilogram fat-tire bike with a 1,000W motor will sit at the low end of those ranges on throttle.

How much does the YVY K20 weigh?

Amazon's details table lists 39.92 kg for the K20 and a maximum weight recommendation of 149.69 kg (330 lb). Our product page for the C20 lists 29 kg and the same 330 lb load limit. The two figures do not reconcile and the manufacturer publishes no clarifying spec, so plan on a heavy bike either way.

Where can I buy the YVY C20 in Canada?

From Zeus eBikes, which stocks the YVY Upgraded C20 1500W and four other YVY models in Ontario with Canadian support, or from ridstar.com, which showed Canadian shoppers a CA$1,966.00 price on September 11, 2026. Did YVY replace Ridstar in Canada?

The seller is a third-party storefront that Amazon.ca labels "Just launched," its disclosed business address is in Shenzhen, and after day 30 Amazon's rules send you to the manufacturer while YVY's own notice sends you back to the shop you bought from. Judge the counterparty, not the photos: if you cannot name who you would call in month four, you have your answer.

Decide by the day something breaks, not by the day you order. From the Amazon.ca seller, the bike lands at $1,299 and your warranty runs through a storefront with no phone number and no Canadian address. From Zeus, the same bike is $1,649 with a Canadian counterparty, a toll-free line, eight stocked parts and Zeus Care filing the claim. If the $350 is the deciding factor, buy on Amazon, test everything inside the 30-day window, and price the first failure before you decide: from us a matched replacement controller is $179 and a battery is $699; on the seller's Amazon.ca storefront there are no parts at all, and a controller or motor from any source has to be matched to the serial number on your motor.

How long has CykeJoy Ebike US been selling on Amazon?

Amazon does not publish a start date, but its own data brackets it. On Amazon.ca the storefront reads "Just launched" with no feedback. On Amazon.com the same seller ID shows 38 lifetime ratings, all left within the past 12 months, the oldest visible one dated July 23, 2026. So: no rating older than twelve months on Amazon.com, and new to Canada as of September 2026.

Is the "YVY Electric Bike for Adults" on Amazon.ca the K20?

Yes. The listing titled "YVY Electric Bike for Adults, 48V 15-40Ah Battery, 1500W-3000W Peak Motor, 20" Fat Tire All-Terrain E-Bike with Full Suspension" carries the model numbers K20 (20Ah variant) and K20 lite (15.6Ah variant) in its own product-details table. It is the same platform sold in Canada as the YVY C20.

Is there a recall on YVY or Ridstar e-bikes in Canada?

The bottom line

The YVY K20 on Amazon.ca is a real bike at a real discount, offered by a seller Amazon labelled "Just launched" and whose registered business is in Shenzhen. YVY's own pages send warranty claims back to that seller. Amazon's own pages send you to the manufacturer after 30 days. Nobody in that loop has a Canadian address or a phone number.
