Eunorau × Rerode R1+ Electric Dirt Bike
Eunorau × Rerode R1+ — 5,000W LPMSM Flagship, 500 Nm, 95 km/h, 17,000W Peak
The R1+ is the flagship of the Eunorau dirt-bike lineup. It is the same Eunorau × Rerode collaboration as the R1, with the deltas that matter when riders push past the entry-level platform’s limits. A 72V 5,000W Advanced LPMSM mid-drive motor with 17,000W of peak power and 500 Nm of torque — numbers that exceed entry-level gas dirt bikes. A 72V 40Ah Samsung cell battery (2,880 Wh, removable, 4-hour fast charge). A high-and-low-speed compression damping front fork with 200mm travel — the kind of suspension hardware that matters once a rider’s skill level outpaces a fixed-tune fork. A 220mm front brake rotor with 4-piston hydraulic caliper, paired to a 203mm rear — correct front-biased braking for the bike’s 95 km/h speed envelope.
This is the bike for riders who already know what they need from a dirt-bike platform: more torque, more peak power, premium suspension hardware, larger front rotor, three riding modes including Sports+, and Samsung cells. If you are choosing between the R1 and the R1+ and have to ask which to buy, buy the R1 — the R1+ is the platform for riders who already know they want the flagship. Two colours: Maple, Black. 150 lbs / 68 kg. Recommended rider height 5'2"–6'4". IP65. 2-year limited warranty.

⚠️ This is NOT a Standard-class Canadian eBike. The R1+'s 95 km/h top speed and 5,000W (17,000W peak) motor far exceed the federal Standard-class power-assisted bicycle limit (500W, 32 km/h) and most provincial Limited-Speed Motorcycle frameworks (typically 70 km/h). The R1+ is built and sold for off-road and private-property use. Verify provincial regulations before riding on any public road. See FAQ below for province-specific notes and the Canadian eBike Laws guide →

Watch the R1 / R1+ Platform in Action
The R1+ shares its chassis with the R1; the videos below cover the R1 platform that the R1+ is built on. R1+-specific long-term reviews are still emerging. Watch the long-term R1 review for component durability and ride characteristics that translate to the R1+.
Why the R1+ Earns the “+”
Plus-tier products in motorcycle and dirt-bike lineups usually mean one or two upgraded components and a higher price. The R1+’s plus is harder-earned: nearly every component that affects the riding experience under aggressive conditions is upgraded over the R1. The deltas:
- 5,000W LPMSM mid-drive vs the R1’s 4,000W PMSM — LPMSM (Linear Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) is an advanced variant of the PMSM topology. Better magnetic-circuit design produces flatter torque curves at high RPM, better thermal management under sustained load, and higher peak-power-to-nominal ratios. On the R1+, this is 17,000W peak power (vs 8,000W on the R1) and 500 Nm torque (vs 330 Nm) from a similar physical motor envelope.
- 72V 40Ah Samsung battery vs the R1’s 35Ah LG — Samsung cells are the gold-standard pairing with LG in the high-end lithium-ion market. 2,880 Wh combined capacity (vs the R1’s 2,520 Wh) extends range proportionally and provides more buffer for sustained high-power riding without battery sag. Same 4-hour fast-charge time via the 72V 10A charger.
- High-and-low-speed compression damping front fork (200mm travel) — The most under-appreciated upgrade. HSC/LSC damping circuits are independent damping channels inside the fork: low-speed compression controls slow inputs (body weight transfer, brake dive); high-speed compression controls sharp inputs (rocks, square edges, hard landings). Forks without separate HSC/LSC are tuned to one compromise. The R1+’s fork is tunable to your terrain, your weight, and your riding style. The R1’s FASTACE 203mm fork is competent; the R1+’s HSC/LSC fork is what skilled riders need.
- 220mm front rotor + 4-piston hydraulic caliper — Front-biased braking is correct on any high-power two-wheeler. About 70% of stopping force comes from the front under hard braking. The 220mm front rotor (vs the R1’s 203mm) provides more thermal mass for long descents and more leverage for the caliper. Less fade. Better modulation. Critical at 95 km/h trail speeds.
- CST 70/100-19 front + 90/90-18 rear — asymmetric tire layout — The R1 uses same-size tires both ends. The R1+ uses a smaller-diameter, wider rear (90/90-18) for more contact patch under acceleration, paired with a 19-inch front for clearance over obstacles. CST is the OEM tire of choice on many premium dirt bikes — not the cheapest spec, but the right spec.
- Three riding modes: Eco / Sports / Sports+ — The R1 has two modes (Sports + Eco). The R1+ adds Sports+ — the mode that unlocks the full 17,000W peak and 500 Nm envelope. Eco extends range and caps power for trail-learning. Sports is the daily-driver mode. Sports+ is reserved for skilled riders on terrain that justifies it. Regenerative braking on Sports and Sports+.
- 50° max climb angle (same as R1) — The climb spec is shared. The R1+’s extra torque means it climbs faster and with more cargo headroom, but the bike is not rated to climb steeper grades.
- IP65 (same as R1) — Same water-resistance rating. Safe in rain, slush, salt-spray, conservative pressure-washing, and shallow water crossings. Not submersion-rated.
Every premium-tier component on the R1+ is the result of one design question: what does the R1 give up to hit its accessible price, and which of those compromises start to limit a skilled rider? The R1+ is the answer for riders whose skill, terrain, or use case has reached the R1’s ceiling.
Key Features
- 72V 5,000W Advanced LPMSM Mid-Drive — 17,000W Peak / 500 Nm Torque — LPMSM is an advanced variant of PMSM with improved magnetic-circuit design, flatter high-RPM torque curves, and better thermal management under sustained load. The peak figures are class-leading for an electric dirt bike at this size: 17,000W peak puts the R1+ in the same power class as 250cc–450cc gas dirt bikes; 500 Nm torque exceeds many of them.
- 72V 40Ah Samsung Cell Removable Lithium-Ion Battery — 2,880 Wh — Samsung cells are gold-standard premium lithium-ion. Removable for indoor charging or bench service. 72V 10A super-fast charger refills empty to full in 4 hours.
- Top Speed 95 km/h / 59 mph (Off-Road / Private Property) — Stock configuration. This top speed exceeds the Canadian Standard-class eBike limit (32 km/h) and all provincial Limited-Speed Motorcycle frameworks (typically 70 km/h). The R1+ is intended for off-road and private-property use.
- Range Up to 120 km / 75 mi — Manufacturer rated at 25 km/h on flat terrain in Eco mode. Real-world: 70–90 km at 40–50 km/h trail-riding pace; 40–55 km at full Sports+ riding. Cold-weather range loss: 25% at 0°C, 35–40% at −10°C.
- 50° Max Climb Angle — Same as R1, but achieved with more torque headroom and cargo capacity.
- High-and-Low-Speed Compression Damping Front Fork — 200mm Travel — The flagship suspension upgrade. HSC/LSC damping circuits are independent damping channels for fast and slow fork inputs. Tunable to terrain, rider weight, and riding style. 200mm travel is full motocross-class.
- 85mm Rear Shock Travel — Same as R1. Mid-suspension layout — shorter than the front fork by design for handling characteristics.
- 4-Piston Hydraulic Brakes — 220mm Front, 203mm Rear — Front-biased rotor sizing for correct hard-braking force distribution. 220mm front rotor provides more thermal mass for long descents. 4-piston calipers throughout.
- CST Asymmetric Off-Road Tires — 70/100-19 Front, 90/90-18 Rear — CST is the OEM tire on many premium dirt bikes. The 19-inch front clears obstacles; the wider, smaller-diameter 18-inch rear provides more contact patch under acceleration. Asymmetric layout is the correct dirt-bike convention.
- Aluminium Alloy Frame — Aluminium throughout the structural components. No rust risk in Canadian winter storage. Lighter than steel for equivalent strength.
- Single-Speed 420 Chain Drive — Single-speed simplifies the drivetrain and matches the LPMSM motor’s wide power band. 420-pitch chain is industrial-grade dirt-bike spec, 106 links.
- Three Riding Modes: Eco / Sports / Sports+ — Eco caps power for trail-learning and range extension. Sports unlocks higher power and enables regenerative braking. Sports+ unlocks the full 17,000W peak and 500 Nm envelope. Twist throttle on the right grip.
- LED Headlight + Brake Light — Battery-powered motorcycle-class lighting.
- IP65 Water Resistance — Motor, controller, and battery housings rated against water jets. Not submersion-rated.
- Eunorau × Rerode Collaboration — Officially EUNORAUxRERODE R1+ — The R1+ is co-branded; the same physical bike is sold as Eunorau R1+ or Rerode R1+ depending on dealer and region.
- Two Colours: Maple, Black — Flagship-tier colour options. Maple is the heritage Eunorau finish; Black is the stealth option.

What You Should Know Before Buying (Honest Take)
- Legal status — read this twice. The R1+ is NOT a Canadian Standard-class eBike. The 95 km/h top speed and 5,000W (17,000W peak) motor exceed the federal eBike limits (32 km/h, 500W) and all provincial Limited-Speed Motorcycle thresholds (typically 70 km/h). Stock configuration is intended for off-road and private-property use only. Verify provincial rules before any public-road use. Provincial eBike and motor-vehicle rules →
- This is the flagship — buy it for the right reason. If you are choosing between the R1 and R1+ and have to ask which to buy, buy the R1. The R1+ is the platform for riders who have already outgrown an entry-level dirt-bike platform or who specifically want the LPMSM motor, the HSC/LSC fork, and the 220mm front rotor. The 25% premium over the R1 buys real hardware upgrades, not marketing tier.
- 95 km/h demands neck-brace-class gear. Required gear for the R1+ at trail speeds includes everything required for the R1, plus a neck brace strongly recommended for any rider riding above 80 km/h. Crash physics at 90+ km/h on hardpack are unforgiving. Bicycle helmets, runners, and shorts are inadequate.
- This is a throttle-only machine. Footpegs, not pedals. No pedal-assist sensor.
- 17,000W peak is more power than most riders use. Sports+ mode unlocks the full envelope. For most trail riding, Sports mode is sufficient and far easier to control. Sports+ is for riders whose skill and terrain justify it.
- 4-hour charge time is fast for an eBike, slow for a motorcycle. 2,880 Wh refilling in 4 hours is reasonable. Plan rides around battery state.
- Single-speed simplifies, but limits cadence control. Same as R1 — no low-gear crawler ratio for technical climbs.
- HSC/LSC fork requires tuning to be worth the upgrade. The premium fork is only premium when set up correctly. Either learn how to adjust HSC/LSC dampers (start with the manufacturer’s baseline settings) or accept the factory tune. Riders with no suspension-tuning experience should treat the fork as a fixed-tune until they invest the time to learn.
- IP65 is rain-rated, not submersion-rated. Same as R1.
- 72V system is harder to service than 36V/48V. Authorized Eunorau service or qualified electric-motorcycle technician. Do not DIY on the 72V battery pack.
- Resale value is uncertain. Eunorau and Rerode are newer to Canada. Steeper depreciation than equivalent gas dirt bikes.
Will It Fit You? — Geometry & Sizing
The R1+ is sold as a one-size frame for riders 5'2" to 6'4" (157–193 cm). Detailed seat-height and wheelbase geometry beyond the packing dimensions is not published in the manufacturer spec sheet for the R1+ — the bike is positioned as a dirt-bike-style platform where rider posture is dynamic.

Who Is the Eunorau R1+ For?
- Riders who have outgrown the R1 or an equivalent entry-level dirt-bike platform — More torque, more peak power, premium fork, larger front rotor. The R1+ is the upgrade path for riders who specifically know what they need.
- Aggressive trail riders and motocross-style off-road riders — The HSC/LSC fork and 220mm front rotor are the hardware upgrades that matter at speed and on technical terrain.
- Riders trading down from a 250cc–450cc gas dirt bike — Comparable peak-power class, much lower noise, no oil/gas/carb maintenance, simpler service. Trade-off: shorter range per fill, no equivalent of a 5-minute gas-station refuel.
- Riders comfortable with motorcycle-class gear and skill — 95 km/h on off-road tires demands neck-brace-class protection and motorcycle-class skill.
Who it’s NOT for:
- Riders unsure whether to buy the R1 or R1+. Buy the R1. The R1+ is for riders who already know they need the flagship.
- Riders looking for a road-legal commuter eBike. Not road-legal. Velotric Discover 3 → for road commuting.
- Riders who want pedal-and-throttle hybrid. Footpegs only. GT73 Electric Motorbike → for the pedal-assist motorbike-style platform.
- Beginners with no motorcycle experience. The R1+ is not a learner platform. Start with a smaller machine.
- Riders without off-road or private-property access. Without legal terrain, the R1+ is a garage ornament.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Eunorau R1+ legal on Canadian roads as an eBike?
No — not as a Canadian Standard-class eBike. The R1+’s 95 km/h top speed and 5,000W (17,000W peak) motor far exceed both the federal Standard-class power-assisted bicycle limits (500W and 32 km/h) and most provincial Limited-Speed Motorcycle (LSM) frameworks (typically capped at 70 km/h). The R1+ is built and sold as an off-road / private-property machine. The most defensible legal use is on private property, on closed off-road trails where high-power motorized eBikes are permitted, or in jurisdictions and configurations where the bike can be registered under a higher motor-vehicle class with proper licensing, registration, and insurance. Provincial eBike laws →
What is LPMSM and how is it different from the R1’s PMSM motor?
LPMSM stands for Linear Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor — an advanced variant of the PMSM topology used in the R1. The advancement is in the magnetic-circuit design and rotor geometry: LPMSM motors typically deliver flatter torque curves at higher RPM, better thermal management under sustained high load, and higher peak-power-to-nominal ratios than standard PMSM motors. On the R1+, this manifests as 17,000W peak power (vs 8,000W on the R1’s PMSM) and 500 Nm torque (vs 330 Nm) from a similar physical motor envelope.
What is the difference between the Eunorau R1 and R1+?
Both are Eunorau × Rerode collaboration off-road dirt bikes. The R1+ is the flagship: 5,000W LPMSM mid-motor with 17,000W peak and 500 Nm torque (vs R1’s 4,000W PMSM with 8,000W peak and 330 Nm); 72V 40Ah Samsung battery 2,880 Wh (vs R1’s 35Ah LG 2,520 Wh); 95 km/h top speed (vs 85 km/h); HSC/LSC damping fork with 200mm travel (vs FASTACE 203mm); 220mm front rotor + 203mm rear (vs 203mm both ends); CST asymmetric front/rear tires; three modes Eco/Sports/Sports+ (vs Sports+Eco); 150 lbs (vs 130 lbs).
What is high-and-low-speed compression damping?
Independent damping circuits inside the fork. Low-speed compression controls slow inputs (body weight transfer, brake dive). High-speed compression controls fast, sharp inputs (rocks, square edges). Forks with both circuits are tunable to terrain, weight, and riding style. The R1+’s HSC/LSC fork is a meaningful suspension upgrade over the R1’s FASTACE — but only when set up correctly.
Why does the R1+ use a 220mm front rotor when the rear is 203mm?
Front-biased braking is correct on a high-power machine. Approximately 70% of stopping force comes from the front under hard braking. A larger front rotor provides more thermal mass for long descents and more leverage for the 4-piston caliper, reducing fade and improving modulation.
What protective gear should I wear on the R1+?
At 95 km/h on off-road tires this is fully motorcycle-class equipment. Required: full-face DOT or ECE 22.06 motocross helmet; goggles; armoured motocross jersey + pants OR full body armour; motocross boots over the ankle; gloves; knee braces; chest protector. Strongly recommended at the R1+’s speeds: neck brace.
What is Sports+ mode?
Sports+ unlocks the full 17,000W peak and 500 Nm torque envelope — reserved for skilled riders on private property or sanctioned off-road terrain. Eco caps power for trail-learning. Sports is the daily-driver mode. Sports+ is not a beginner setting.
Is the Eunorau R1+ the same bike as the Rerode R1+?
Yes — officially the EUNORAUxRERODE R1+. The same physical bike marketed under both brand names. Reviews from either brand apply.
Are there reviews for the R1+ on Zeus yet?
The R1+ is a recent addition to our lineup. Independent reviews exist for the R1 platform (which shares much of its chassis with the R1+); R1+-specific long-term reviews are still emerging.
