The bikes on this shelf, in our guide’s order
All figures are the makers’ own. Rider height, weight, tire and load were confirmed on each maker’s page on 18 October 2026 (heights shown in feet and inches and in centimetres); rated, peak and battery figures were confirmed in each bike’s own text the same day. — = a figure we did not confirm for this model on its maker’s page on 18 October 2026; the bike’s own page has its full specifications. Prices and stock are live from our store; a bike shows “Sold out” when no version is in stock.
How we choose the bikes on this shelf
These are the 21 bikes our women’s guide recommends, in the guide’s own order, with today’s prices and two of the numbers the guide puts first: the maker’s rider-height range and the bike’s weight.
The road rules
Canada’s federal e-bike definition was repealed in 2021, and the rules are now provincial: they converge on a motor of 500W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h (Nova Scotia's 30 km/h ends on 19 October 2026) and working pedals. A bike rated over 500W, or two motors over 500W together, is not a road-legal power-assisted bicycle in any province at any mode setting.
7 of the 21 bikes on this shelf are rated over 500W by their makers. Check your province and municipality before public-road use: our laws guide goes province by province.
FAQ: electric bikes for women
What is the best women’s electric bike?
The one that fits you. Start with the rider-height column, then the weight: a lighter bike is easier to lift onto a car rack or carry up stairs. Our women’s guide explains what each pick on this shelf does best.
What is the lightest women’s electric bike?
On this shelf, the lightest by its maker’s own figure is the Velotric Tempo — Lightweight City eBike at 17.7 kg (39 lb); the table lists every bike’s figure, and our women’s guide compares the light ones.
How do I know what size e-bike I need?
Three numbers: the maker’s rider-height range, the bike’s lowest saddle height, and your inseam measured in socks against a wall. If your inseam is above the lowest saddle height, you can sit with the balls of both feet on the ground. Between two sizes, take the smaller for control and the larger for a longer commute.
