We sell this bike. Zeus lists the Riding Times GT54 Pro at $1,799. Our US sister store, RedTail eBikes, reviewed the US GT54 Pro in September; this review uses its measured fit and its range model, with a link at each point of use. We checked that the US bike is the one we sell: the same battery, motor peak, torque, gearing, geometry, charger and tires on both of Riding Times' stores.

The GT54 Pro is Riding Times' bigger-battery electric mini dirt bike: footpegs instead of pedals, a twist throttle, a geared rear hub motor, hydraulic disc brakes and suspension at both ends on 14 in and 12 in wheels. Riding Times' Canadian store sells it "for Teens & Adults" and ships it in a 25 km/h speed-limit mode. Every Riding Times figure below was read on 31 October 2026; every range figure is our model's, labelled where it appears.

Quick Answer: Riding Times GT54 Pro review, Canada

The Riding Times GT54 Pro is an off-road electric mini dirt bike with footpegs and no pedals: a 1,500 W rated hub motor (3,000 W peak, 338 N·m) on a removable 60 V 25 Ah, 1,500 Wh battery, shipped in a 25 km/h mode with an 80 km/h top setting.

  • Range: about 112 km at the shipped 25 km/h for an 82 kg (180 lb) rider on flat ground at 25 °C (modelled); at 0 °C, inside the 0 to 40 °C charging window in Riding Times' GT54 manual, about 87 km (modelled, cell data spanning 78 to 91 km).
  • Fit: Riding Times prints a 4′2″ to 5′11″ rider window in Canada. On the seat as photographed, RedTail eBikes' measured count puts both feet flat for 79 of 100 adults at 5′3″ and at least 8 in 10 from 5′4″.
  • Certificates and recalls: no GT54 Pro page or record names a certificate, though Riding Times' US FAQ claims UL certification "depending on the product"; no recall in Health Canada's database or the US CPSC's names Riding Times or the GT54 (31 October 2026).
  • Verdict: in our view, a strong off-road mini moto for a rider 16 or older, about 5′4″ or taller, who rides on private land or permitted trails; the GT54 at $1,499 suits flatter ground and a smaller budget.
  • At Zeus: the Riding Times GT54 Pro is $1,799, or $2,898 with the Snow Track Kit, with free shipping across Canada; the comparison sets it beside the GT54 and GT73 Pro.
How this review was made
  • Riding Times' figures: the GT54 Pro and GT54 pages and product records on Riding Times' Canadian and US stores, both FAQs and the Canadian warranty page, read on 31 October 2026 in a headless browser with every panel opened; the GT54 manual and the GT54 Pro packing list; and the text in 179 gallery and page images from both Canadian GT54 pages, read by OCR.
  • Is the US bike ours? Every GT54 Pro attribute was set side by side across both stores: battery, motor peak, torque, gears, charger, tires and geometry match; rider-height windows, front-suspension wording and the controller line differ, and both versions are printed below.
  • Range: RedTail eBikes' range model, imported unchanged; before it ran it passed its selftest and reproduced all 8 of RedTail's published GT54 Pro figures. RedTail modelled a 1,000 W motor because Riding Times' US page prints no rating; we ran the same model at the 1,500 W Riding Times Canada prints, and show RedTail's case beside it.
  • Fit: 6,068 measured adults from the ANSUR II survey, placed against Riding Times' photograph of the GT54 Pro by RedTail eBikes' fit model.
  • Law and safety: Ontario's Off-Road Vehicles Act and its Regulation 863, and Alberta's Traffic Safety Act, read on 31 October 2026; Health Canada's and the US CPSC's recall databases searched under every spelling of the brand, its company name and the model, each beside a control that had to return results and a test term that had to convict a real record.
▶ Riding Times: unboxing and assembly

Riding Times' own unboxing and assembly video for the GT54 Pro (2025-11-06). It shows the parts in the box and the steps to ready the bike; we have no GT54 Pro video of our own yet.

▶ A rider's off-road test

An independent rider in Idaho, in the United States, takes the US GT54 Pro up trail climbs and loose gravel for 23 minutes (Sparkster, 2026-05-17); not a Zeus test. The speeds in his video are his own settings, and he states none; the GT54 Pro ships in Canada in a 25 km/h mode. He ends with "I put it to its limits here. I used up my whole battery on it."

Who is the Riding Times GT54 Pro for?

Riding Times' Canadian store sells the GT54 Pro "for Teens & Adults", its GT54 manual sets a minimum age of 16, and its top setting reaches 80 km/h. Buy on the headline and you can end up with a bike your rider is too young for, cannot stop flat-footed on, or rides somewhere no province allows. This review measures the seat against real bodies, models the range for Canadian conditions and reads Ontario's and Alberta's off-road rules, so you can decide in one sitting.

It suits a rider of 16 or older who wants a compact, quick off-road machine with a big battery: about 112 km at the shipped 25 km/h in our model, 338 N·m for climbs, and a compact frame, 59.1 in long and 102.5 lb by Riding Times' US figure. It suits riders under about 5′4″ less well: on the seat as photographed, RedTail eBikes counted both feet flat for 34 of 100 adults at 5′1″.

Takeaway: buy the GT54 Pro for a rider 16 or older, about 5′4″ or taller, who will ride on private land or permitted trails; ride it there, not on roads, bike lanes or paths.

What are the Riding Times GT54 Pro's specifications?

Riding Times Canada prints a geared rear hub motor rated at 1,500 W with a 3,000 W peak and 338 N·m, a removable 60 V 25 Ah battery (1,500 Wh), hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, and a 25 km/h speed-limit mode. The table quotes its Canadian figures, read on 31 October 2026, and marks where its US store or its documents print something else.

Item Riding Times prints Where, and what differs
Motor 1,500 W rated, 3,000 W peak, 338 N·m; "5.2:1 Integrated Geared Hub Motor" Canadian page and record; the US page prints the peak only
Battery 60 V 25 Ah, 1,500 Wh, removable; 67.2 V 3 A charger Canadian page; the charger is on the packing list
Speed 25 km/h speed-limit mode as shipped; gears of 15, 28 and 50 mph; 80 km/h maximum Canadian page; the US FAQ says 49 mph
Range "62 Miles | 100 km"; throttle-only "approximately 40–60 km" Canadian page and record (see the range section)
Suspension Front hydraulic double-wishbone shock with adjustable damping; rear shock Canadian page and US record; the US comparison table lists an aluminium fork
Brakes and tires Hydraulic discs front and rear plus an electronic brake; 60/100-14 front, 60/100-12 rear Both stores
Seat height 27.2 in (fixed) Both stores; 29.5 in on Riding Times' photograph, by RedTail eBikes' measure
Wheelbase and length 41.7 in; 59.1 in overall; 8.3 in front travel Both stores
Rider height 4′2″ to 5′11″ Canadian page; 4′2″ to 5′9″ on the US page; 140 to 185 cm in the US FAQ
Maximum load 220 lb / 100 kg Canadian record; the same Canadian page also prints "(120kg)"
Weight 102.5 lb US record only; the Canadian page prints none
Water IPX4 Canadian record; the US FAQ says IPX5 for every model

Riding Times' GT54 Pro figures as printed on its Canadian store unless the last column says otherwise, read 31 October 2026.

The GT54 Pro as photographed for our listing.

Two of the Canadian figures need a word. The record prints a "pedal-assist range" for a bike with no pedals; our range section explains what that figure reads as. The page also prints "220 lbs max load (120kg)" beside the record's "220 lb / 100 kg"; 220 lb is 100 kg, so plan on that.

Takeaway: the GT54 Pro's motor, battery and geometry match on both of Riding Times' stores; plan on the 220 lb (100 kg) load and the higher seat figure.

GT54 or GT54 Pro: which one should you buy?

Buy the GT54 Pro for hills and range, the GT54 for flatter ground and a smaller budget. The two share a frame and geometry; the Pro adds a 60 V battery (1,500 Wh against 1,296 Wh), a 1,500 W rating against 1,000 W, and 338 N·m against 290 N·m, for $300 more at Zeus.

Bike At Zeus Rated / peak Battery Top (maker) 25 km/h (model) Climb (model)
GT54 $1,499 1,000 W / 2,000 W, 290 N·m 1,296 Wh 65 km/h about 99 km about 8.2%
GT54 Pro $1,799 1,500 W / 3,000 W, 338 N·m 1,500 Wh 80 km/h about 112 km about 11.8%

Motor, battery and top speed: Riding Times Canada, read 31 October 2026. Range and steepest grade held at 20 km/h: our model, 82 kg (180 lb) rider, flat or steady grade, 25 °C, full battery, each at Riding Times Canada's rating.

RedTail eBikes' GT54 Pro or GT54 comparison reaches the same split from the US side. Both bikes ship in the 25 km/h mode; the GT54 manual prints 20 mph as its top speed where Riding Times' page prints 65 km/h for the GT54.

The lighter-budget sibling
1,296 WhBattery

The same frame with a 48 V 27 Ah battery and a 1,000 W rated motor: about 99 km at 25 km/h in our model, for $1,499. Pick it for lighter riding on flatter ground.

How far does the GT54 Pro go on one charge?

About 112 km at the shipped 25 km/h, for an 82 kg (180 lb) rider on flat ground at 25 °C, in our model of the GT54 Pro; about 62 km at a steady 40 km/h after the owner changes the setting. The planning column keeps a 25% reserve, the margin RedTail eBikes' range model uses.

Steady speed Setting Full battery (model) Planning (model) At 1,000 W (model)
10 km/h As shipped 173 km 130 km 165 km
15 km/h As shipped 158 km 119 km 152 km
20 km/h As shipped 135 km 101 km 129 km
25 km/h As shipped 112 km 84 km 106 km
30 km/h Owner-set gear 92 km 69 km 87 km
35 km/h Owner-set gear 75 km 56 km 70 km
40 km/h Owner-set gear 62 km 46 km 57 km
45 km/h Owner-set gear 51 km 38 km 46 km

Our model of the GT54 Pro: 82 kg (180 lb) rider, flat ground, still air, 25 °C, full 1,500 Wh battery, throttle only. The first two figures use Riding Times Canada's 1,500 W rating; the last column runs RedTail eBikes' 1,000 W case unchanged.

Riding Times' two range figures fit this model if you read them as speeds. Its "62 Miles | 100 km" needs riding at or below about 28 km/h in our model, close to the shipped 25 km/h mode; its "throttle-only range is approximately 40–60 km" matches steady riding at about 41 to 51 km/h in our model. That reading is ours; Riding Times states no speed for either figure.

Rider and gear At 25 km/h (model) At 40 km/h (model)
45 kg (99 lb) 131 km 67 km
60 kg (132 lb) 122 km 65 km
82 kg (180 lb) 112 km 62 km
100 kg (220 lb) 105 km 59 km

Our model, flat ground, 25 °C, full battery. 100 kg is the 220 lb load Riding Times prints.

Steady climb Range at 20 km/h (model)
2% 64 km
4% 39 km
6% 26 km
8% 19 km
10% 14 km
12% not held at 20 km/h

Our model, 82 kg (180 lb) rider, 25 °C. The steepest grade the motor holds at a steady 20 km/h is about 11.8% in our model (about 14.6% at 10 km/h).

Off-road range runs lower than these flat-ground figures: loose ground, wheelies and stops all cost energy, and our model does not include them. With an 82 kg (180 lb) rider our model also holds no more than about 54 km/h on flat ground, against the 50 mph (80 km/h) that Riding Times' US record says it measured without a rider.

Takeaway: plan on about 84 km at the shipped 25 km/h and about 46 km at 40 km/h for an 82 kg (180 lb) rider, the planning figures in our model; hills and loose trails take that lower.

How does the GT54 Pro handle cold, rain and storage?

At 0 °C, the bottom of the charging window in Riding Times' GT54 manual, our model gives about 87 km at 25 km/h, with cell data spanning 78 to 91 km. Riding Times prints no temperature range for the GT54 Pro itself; its GT54 manual says to charge only between 0 and 40 °C and to avoid storage below −10 °C.

Air temperature At 25 km/h (model) Cell-data span (model) GT54 manual charging window
25 °C 112 km Inside
10 °C 95 km Inside
0 °C 87 km 78 to 91 km At the bottom edge
−10 °C 79 km 38 to 79 km Outside (below 0 °C)

Our model, 82 kg (180 lb) rider, flat ground, battery at air temperature. The span runs across the published cell measurements RedTail eBikes' cold section uses; −10 °C is below the manual's charging window.

Store and charge the battery indoors, above 0 °C, and ride it warm. On water, Riding Times' Canadian FAQ says its e-bikes "should not be treated as waterproof" and to "Avoid deep water, pressure washing, prolonged heavy rain and submerging the battery, display, controller or electrical connectors"; the GT54 manual adds "Do not use water guns" to wash it. The e-bike battery care guide covers winter storage.

Takeaway: ride it in Canada's warmer months, keep the battery indoors and charge it above 0 °C, and keep it out of deep water and pressure washers.

Will the GT54 Pro fit, and what age is it for?

It fits most riders from about 5′4″ up: on the seat as Riding Times photographed it, RedTail eBikes' count puts both feet flat for at least 8 in 10 adults from 5′4″. On the 27.2 in Riding Times prints, that bar starts at 4′11″, the shortest height RedTail measured. RedTail advises: "Plan on the higher seat figure until you have the bike in front of you."

Rider height Both feet flat, seat 29.5 in (of 100) Seat 27.2 in (of 100)
4′11″ 2 84
5′1″ 34 99
5′3″ 79 100
5′4″ 87 100
5′5″ 97 100
5′7″ 100 100
5′9″ 100 100
5′11″ 100 100
6′1″ 100 100

RedTail eBikes' count of 6,068 adults from the ANSUR II survey (US Army personnel, measured 2010 to 2012): riders of 100 at each height whose inseam reaches the seat at the height measured on Riding Times' photograph and at its printed 27.2 in. RedTail's page prints the odd heights; the 5′4″ row is from its model file.

Tall riders sit with their knees rising toward the bars. With the footpegs 17.8 in below the seat, RedTail eBikes counted the thigh level or sloping down for 94 of 100 adults at 5′9″, 70 at 5′11″ and 32 at 6′1″. Riding Times' windows end at 5′11″ in Canada, 5′9″ on its US page and 185 cm (6′1″) in its US FAQ.

On age, Riding Times prints three answers. Its GT54 manual reads "Minimum age of 16 years old"; its US FAQ recommends 12 and up for the GT54 Pro and 10 and up for the GT54; its Canadian FAQ gives no age and says teen riders "must also follow provincial age, helmet and permitted-use rules".

We follow the manual: 16 and up. Ontario's Off-Road Vehicles Act separately bars an owner from letting a child under 12 drive one, except on land the owner occupies or under close adult supervision (s. 4).

Takeaway: a rider 16 or older and about 5′4″ or taller stops flat-footed on the GT54 Pro; riders over about 5′11″ should look at the GT73 Pro.

Is the GT54 Pro street legal, and where can you ride it?

No province lets it ride roads, bike lanes or paths as an e-bike. It has footpegs and no pedals, Riding Times Canada rates its motor at 1,500 W, and its top setting is 80 km/h, so it sits outside every provincial e-bike rule. Riding Times' own Canadian product record says the GT54 Pro "should not be presented as universally street legal".

Where What applies to the GT54 Pro Source
Every province Outside every provincial e-bike rule (no pedals, rated above 500 W): no province lets it ride roads, bike lanes or paths as an e-bike. Our e-bike law guide
Ontario An off-road vehicle: a permit and number plate to drive it (s. 3(1)), $38 together (Reg. 863); insurance except on land the owner occupies (s. 15); a helmet except on land the owner occupies (s. 19); no child under 12 driving except on the owner's land or under close adult supervision (s. 4). Off-Road Vehicles Act
Alberta An off-highway vehicle ("motorcycles and related 2-wheel vehicles", "minibikes"): registration and insurance except on land the rider owns or rides with the owner's consent (s. 119); no driving on any portion of a highway except as the Act permits (s. 120(2)(b)); a helmet except on that land (s. 128.1). Traffic Safety Act
Everywhere else Off public roads, where the landowner, trail authority or track sets access; check the off-road vehicle rules where you ride. Our electric dirt bike guide

Ontario's Act read on e-Laws, current consolidation, and Alberta's Act (current as of July 2, 2026), on 31 October 2026.

In Ontario, owning the land lifts only the duty to carry the permit; the permit and plate rule still applies there (s. 3(1) and 3(3)). Both Acts lift the helmet rule on some private land (in Ontario, land the bike's owner occupies; in Alberta, land the rider owns or rides with the owner's consent); we would wear one on every ride. The Ontario e-bike law guide and Alberta guide cover the e-bike side of each province.

Takeaway: ride the GT54 Pro on private land, at a track or on trails that allow off-road motorbikes, with the permit, plate, insurance or registration your province asks for.

Does the GT54 Pro have certificates, recalls or a warranty?

No recall in Health Canada's database or the US CPSC's names Riding Times or the GT54, searched on 31 October 2026. On certification, Riding Times' US FAQ says its e-bikes "are certified to applicable UL safety standards, including UL 2272 and UL 2849, depending on the product", but no GT54 Pro page, product record or packing list on either store names a certificate for this model.

US CPSC The same terms, in recall titles, product names and descriptions "Rad Power" returned its recall No recall names them

Health Canada recalls and safety alerts, archive included, and the US CPSC recall database.

Riding Times publishes a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on its e-bikes, "for the original purchaser on all electric bikes bought directly from our official website", and a 1-year prorated warranty on batteries. On a GT54 Pro bought from Zeus, Riding Times backs that warranty in full and Zeus handles the claim, and your first month of Zeus Care is included; Zeus Care is not a warranty and does not add coverage.

Takeaway: a clean recall record in both registers we searched, a brand-level UL claim rather than a model certificate, and a 2-year Riding Times warranty that Zeus handles.

How does the GT54 Pro compare with the GT54 and GT73 Pro?

Choose by the rider's height first, then by battery. In RedTail eBikes' count, at least 8 in 10 adults stop flat-footed on the GT54 from 5′5″, on the GT54 Pro from 5′4″ and on the GT73 Pro only from 5′11″.

Bike At Zeus Motor Battery 25 km/h (model) Flat-footed from Load Feet on

The bigger step: two 60 V 18 Ah packs (2,160 Wh), pedals, a 330 lb load and a 30.3 in printed seat, for riders about 5′11″ and taller. Our Riding Times GT73 review covers the GT73 family.

RedTail eBikes' GT54 Pro or GT73 Pro comparison draws the same line on height. No province lets any bike in this table ride roads, bike lanes or paths as an e-bike; our electric dirt bike guide sets all of them side by side.

Who should buy the GT54 Pro, and who should skip it?

Buy it, in our view, for a rider 16 or older and about 5′4″ or taller who rides on private land or permitted trails and wants the bigger battery. Skip it for road riding, for a rider under 16, or for a rider over about 5′11″, who fits the GT73 Pro better.

Riding Times GT54 Pro questions, answered

Is the GT54 Pro street legal in Canada?

No province lets it ride roads, bike lanes or paths as an e-bike: it has footpegs and no pedals and a motor rated at 1,500 W, so it sits outside every provincial e-bike rule. Riding Times' own Canadian FAQ calls the GT54 Pro a model "intended primarily for off-road riding, private property and other locations where their configuration is permitted." In Ontario it is an off-road vehicle that needs a permit and number plate (Off-Road Vehicles Act, s. 3(1)); in Alberta it is an off-highway vehicle barred from any portion of a highway except as the Traffic Safety Act permits (s. 120(2)(b)).

How far does the GT54 Pro go on one charge?

About 112 km at the shipped 25 km/h for an 82 kg (180 lb) rider on flat ground at 25 °C in our model, and about 62 km at a steady 40 km/h after the owner changes the setting. Riding Times prints "62 Miles | 100 km"; in our model that needs riding at or below about 28 km/h. Its "throttle-only" 40 to 60 km matches steady riding at about 41 to 51 km/h in our model.

How fast is the GT54 Pro?

Riding Times Canada prints 80 km/h (50 mph) as its maximum and ships it in a 25 km/h speed-limit mode; its gears read 15, 28 and 50 mph. The US FAQ says 49 mph, and the US record says its top speed was measured without a rider. Its Canadian product record rates the GT54 Pro IPX4; its US FAQ says every model has an IPX5-rated exterior. The GT54 manual says not to wash it with water guns.
