All figures are the makers’ own. Rider height, weight, tire and load were confirmed on each maker’s page on 18 October 2026 (heights shown in feet and inches and in centimetres); rated, peak and battery figures were confirmed in each bike’s own text the same day. Samebike prints its rider heights on size-chart images, so its heights, and its weight figures where its pages differ, were read from Samebike’s own charts, pages and manuals on 19 October 2026. — = a figure we did not confirm for this model on its maker’s page on 18 October 2026; the bike’s own page has its full specifications. Prices and stock are live from our store; a bike shows “Sold out” when no version is in stock.
How we choose the bikes on this shelf
We read the rider-height range each maker prints for the bike and shelve it when the range starts at 5′0″ (152 cm) or lower. Where a maker prints ranges for more than one frame size, the table covers them all, so check the size on the bike’s page. A bike whose maker prints no rider-height range is left off, because we cannot check the fit. Our women’s guide covers fit from 4′10″ in depth.
The road rules
Canada’s federal e-bike definition was repealed in 2021, and the rules are now provincial: they converge on a motor of 500W or less, assistance that stops at 32 km/h (in Nova Scotia since 19 October 2026) and working pedals. A bike rated over 500W, or two motors over 500W together, is not a road-legal power-assisted bicycle in any province at any mode setting.
5 of the 12 bikes on this shelf are rated over 500W by their makers. Check your province and municipality before public-road use: our laws guide goes province by province.
FAQ: electric bikes for short riders
What e-bike fits a 5-foot rider?
One whose maker prints a rider-height range starting at 5′0″ (152 cm) or lower, which is the rule for this shelf. Check your inseam against the bike’s lowest saddle height too; our women’s guide shows how.
How do I know what size e-bike I need?
Three numbers: the maker’s rider-height range, the bike’s lowest saddle height, and your inseam measured in socks against a wall. If your inseam is above the lowest saddle height, you can sit with the balls of both feet on the ground. Between two sizes, take the smaller for control and the larger for a longer commute.
