Tesway X7 AWD Dual Motor Electric Bike
A Motor in Each Wheel, a 52V 60Ah Battery and a 120 mm Dual-Crown Fork, on 20×4.0 Kenda Fat Tires.
On sand, gravel or a wet surface, a rear-drive bike loses its push the moment its back tire spins. The X7 AWD puts a hub motor in both wheels, so when the rear slips, the front is still pulling. Tesway’s spec table rates the pair at 2,000W together, with a 3,600W combined peak and 200 N·m, and feeds them from a 52V 60Ah battery (about 3,120 Wh by our arithmetic) that it rates for up to 320 km on pedal assist.
The front rides on a 120 mm dual-crown fork with hydraulic lockout and the back on spring suspension. Four-piston hydraulic brakes stop it, 20×4.0 Kenda fat tires with reflective side strips carry it, and an NFC card unlocks the colour display, which has a USB port. Tesway states that the e-bike system is UL 2849 certified by TÜV and the battery pack UL 2271 certified.
Among the Tesways at Zeus, it is the step-over twin of the X5 AWD. It costs $800 more than the single-motor X7 Pro New and $100 less than both the X5 AWD and the X9 Ultra (Zeus prices, October 2026). The comparison below shows what each one does better.

📖 Read this first: what Tesway’s own manual adds
- Cold: Tesway’s X5/X7 AWD owner’s manual says: “This equipment is not intended to be used and stored at ambient temperatures less than 0°C (32°F) or above ambient temperatures of 40°C (104°F).” It also says to charge the battery only between 0°C and 40°C. Its product page calls the tires “All-Season Traction”. Ask us or Tesway before you plan a winter on it.
- Passengers: Tesway’s page says the ride stays smooth “whether riding solo or with a passenger”, and it sells a passenger seat; its manual says the bike is “designed for regular country road use for a single person”.
- Range and charging: up to 200 miles (320 km) on pedal assist, “under ideal conditions” in Tesway’s FAQ. A full charge takes “About 7 hours” in its US spec table and 6 hours from completely discharged in its manual.
- Figures Tesway prints twice: brake rotors 203 or 230 mm; top speed 38 mph (about 61 km/h) or 60 km/h; payload 181 or 180 kg. We show both each time.
⚠️ Canadian legal note: read this before you buy
Canada has had no federal e-bike definition since the federal power-assisted-bicycle definition was repealed effective February 4, 2021, so e-bike rules are provincial, and they converge on a 500W motor and 32 km/h of assisted speed (Nova Scotia’s statute says 30 km/h). Tesway rates the X7 AWD’s motors at 2,000W and lists a top speed of about 60 km/h, so it is not a power-assisted bicycle in any province. Tesway’s own FAQ says riders can adjust the assist or speed settings to comply with local rules; a setting does not change the 2,000W rating Tesway gives the motors.
Treat it as an off-road machine: private land, off-road trails that permit it, and land you have permission to ride. What riding it on a public road would require differs by province, and so do the rules on carrying a passenger, so check yours first.

Why Drive at Both Wheels Matters on Loose Ground
A single rear motor can only push, and on loose ground that push is limited by one tire’s grip. With a motor in each wheel:
- Traction where you lose it. Tesway says the all-wheel drive improves “traction and control on sand, gravel, and wet surfaces”. Dual-motor e-bikes in Canada, compared →
- One motor or two, your choice. Tesway’s manual: “Press the Info key to switch between Single and Dual Drive modes.”
- A big battery behind both. 60 Ah at 52 V is about 3,120 Wh by our arithmetic, which Tesway rates for up to 320 km on pedal assist. Long-range e-bikes in Canada →
- Suspension at both ends. A 120 mm dual-crown fork in front, which Tesway calls “Motorcycle-Grade Suspension”, and spring suspension behind.
Key Features
- Two hub motors, 52V 2000W rated / 3600W peak, 200 N·m — Tesway’s figures. Its manual adds a half-twist throttle, cruise control, a 6 km/h walk-assist mode and five assist levels. E-bike wattage in Canada, explained →
- 52V 60Ah battery — About 3,120 Wh; it weighs 13.5 kg (29.8 lb), comes out with a key for charging indoors, and Tesway’s manual rates it for 600 charge cycles under normal use. The 58.8V 8A charger is, in Tesway’s words, up to 50% faster than standard 5A chargers. We also sell Tesway’s 48V/52V 60Ah spare battery.
- 120 mm dual-crown fork with hydraulic lockout — Reinforced uprights, in Tesway’s description, with spring suspension at the rear.
- Four-piston hydraulic disc brakes — Front and rear, on 2.3 mm rotors (203 mm or 230 mm across: Tesway prints both).
- 20×4.0 Kenda fat tires — With reflective side strips. Wide tires spread the load on sand and soft ground. Fat tire e-bikes in Canada →
- Shimano 7-speed with a 52T chainring — The chainring has a double guard, and the pedals are full-aluminum.
- NFC tap-to-ride and a USB port — Tap a card at the colour display to turn it on, or enter a passcode; Tesway’s US box list includes two NFC cards. Keep both battery keys: the manual warns that without them you cannot remove the battery. E-bike theft protection in Canada →
- Lights and horn — A motorcycle-style 99 LM auto-sensing headlight with an IPX6 waterproof design and an integrated horn, and a brake-sensing taillight that Tesway says brightens when you brake.
- Step-over aluminium-alloy frame with a rear shelf — Tesway’s patented non-foldable frame, with extra water bottle mounts. The shelf sits 74 cm off the ground and takes Tesway’s passenger seat or baskets, sold separately.
Everything Included, and Assembly
Tesway’s Canadian listing: the X7 AWD, user manual, charger, 2 keys, toolkit box and pedals. Its US listing for the same bike: e-bike, manual, toolkit, battery, charger, headlight, display, front and rear fenders, horn, seat, 2 reflectors, 2 NFC cards and left and right pedals. The manual’s carton list: the main body with the rear wheel and battery, the handlebar with display and throttle, the seat on its post, the front wheel, the front fender, the front light and a box with tools, charger, pedals and manual.
Tesway’s manual says “Assembly is quite easy as most of the parts are already assembled”, and it advises watching the assembly video first. One step matters more than the rest: before the front wheel goes in, take the transport spacer out of the front brake caliper. The manual warns that leaving it in damages the brake, “resulting in brake fluid leakage and permanent brake failure”. Assembly walkthroughs by phone, email or video are part of your first month of Zeus Care.
The passenger seat, child safety handrails, baskets and foldable platform are Tesway accessories sold separately.
The Honest Take: What We’d Change
- It is heavy. 54 kg (119 lb) with a 13.5 kg battery, and 186 cm long. Carrying it up stairs or onto a rack is a two-person job, and it needs ground-level storage.
- Tesway’s manual and its marketing disagree on the cold. The page says “All-Season Traction”; the manual says the bike is not intended to be used or stored below 0°C. Until Tesway explains the gap, plan around the manual.
- And on passengers. Tesway’s page says the ride stays smooth “whether riding solo or with a passenger”, and it sells a passenger seat; the manual says the bike is “designed for regular country road use for a single person”.
- Assist that runs when you pedal, not when you push harder. Tesway’s manual labels the sensor at the crank a “Speed Sensor” and says assist “happens as long as you pedal. You don’t need to pedal hard.” That is how a cadence-type sensor behaves (our reading; Tesway does not use the word). If you want assist that follows how hard you push, ask us about torque-sensor bikes.
- Tesway prints a few figures two ways. Rotors (203 or 230 mm), top speed (61 or 60 km/h), payload (181 or 180 kg), charge time (about 7 or 6 hours), and the motors as “Dual 2000W” on its X7 AWD page and “Dual 1000W” on its US X5 AWD page, against the 52V 2000W rating in Tesway’s spec tables. We show both each time.
- Riding for a delivery app? Read the warranty first. Tesway’s terms exclude damage from “commercial use”.
- No passenger seat in the box. The rear shelf takes one, sold separately; the X7 Pro New includes a backed seat.
None of that changes what the X7 AWD is for: drive at both wheels with a 60Ah battery behind it, for long days on loose ground.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Tesway X7 AWD street-legal in Canada?
Not as an e-bike. Tesway rates the X7 AWD’s motors at 2,000W, with a 3,600W combined peak, and lists a top speed of about 60 km/h, so it is not a power-assisted bicycle in any province. Tesway’s own FAQ says riders can adjust the assist or speed settings to comply with local rules; a setting does not change the 2,000W rating Tesway gives the motors. Treat it as an off-road machine for private land, off-road trails that permit it and land you have permission to ride, and check your province’s rules before any public-road use. Our Canadian e-bike law guide →
How far will it go on one charge, and how long does it take to charge?
Tesway rates the 52V 60Ah battery (about 3,120 Wh, our arithmetic) at up to 200 miles (320 km) on pedal assist and 180 miles on the motors alone; its FAQ gives 180–200 miles (290–320 km) “under ideal conditions”. Its manual lists what uses more energy: rough roads and hills, frequent changes in speed, more weight and soft tires, and its troubleshooting table names low temperature as a cause of short range (“Warm the battery above 0℃ (32℉)”). A full charge on the included 58.8V 8A charger takes “About 7 hours” in Tesway’s US spec table and 6 hours from completely discharged in its manual. Our e-bike battery guide →
How powerful is it, and how fast does it go?
Tesway’s spec tab rates the motors at 52V 2000W with a 52V 3600W peak and 200 N·m of torque, and gives a top speed of 38 mph (about 61 km/h; its highlights say 60 km/h) with a default speed of 16 mph. Tesway’s manual describes five assist levels (level 0 is off), a half-twist throttle, cruise control in pure-electric mode, a 6 km/h walk-assist mode and single or dual drive, switched with the Info key.
What terrain is it built for, and can I ride it in winter?
Tesway says the all-wheel drive improves “traction and control on sand, gravel, and wet surfaces”. Its manual sets a limit: “Using your E-bike for extreme maneuvers, such as extreme off-road use, jumping, or carrying an excessive load will damage the E-bike and could cause serious injury.” For winter, Tesway’s product page heads its tire section “All-Season Traction”, while its manual says: “This equipment is not intended to be used and stored at ambient temperatures less than 0°C (32°F) or above ambient temperatures of 40°C (104°F).” The manual also says to charge the battery only between 0°C and 40°C, not to clean the bike with high-pressure water, and to avoid parking it outside in rain or snow. Ask us or Tesway before you plan a winter on it. Our winter e-bike guide →
How is the X7 AWD different from the X5 AWD?
Tesway’s answer: “The main difference between X5 AWD and X7 AWD is the exterior design of the frame. X5 AWD is a step-thru design, while X7 AWD is a step-over design. Other functions are the same.” Tesway’s size charts give the step-through X5 a 58 cm “Standing height” and the X7 62 cm. If you would rather step through the frame, see the Tesway X5 AWD.
How heavy is it, and will it fit me?
Tesway lists 54 kg (119 lb) with the battery, which weighs 13.5 kg (29.8 lb) on its own, and a 186 cm length. Its size chart recommends riders 160–196 cm (5′3″–6′5″), with the saddle 85–102 cm above the ground, a 62 cm “Standing height”, a 46 cm reach and a 130 cm wheelbase. Tesway’s manual says to take care moving a heavy e-bike so it does not tip over; lifting it is a two-person job, and moving it by vehicle takes a pickup, a van or a hitch rack rated for its weight.
Can it carry a passenger?
Tesway gives two answers. Its product page says the fork and rear shocks keep the ride smooth “whether riding solo or with a passenger”, and Tesway sells a passenger seat for the rear shelf separately (so do we: Tesway passenger seat), but its owner’s manual says the bike is “designed for regular country road use for a single person”. Ask us or Tesway before you carry anyone. Rider, passenger and cargo together must stay within the 181 kg (400 lb) maximum payload, passenger rules differ by province and by where you ride, and everyone aboard should wear a helmet.
What certifications does it have?
Tesway states that “the entire e-bike system is UL 2849 certified by TÜV, while the battery pack is UL 2271 certified”. That is Tesway’s claim on its own product pages. Tesway also gives the headlight an IPX6 waterproof design; its manual says not to clean the bike with high-pressure water, because water can reach the motor and wiring.
When will it arrive, and do you ship to me?
Shipping is free across Canada. We process orders within 1–3 business days, and delivery takes 2–7 business days depending on where you live; we email tracking when it ships. We ship to addresses Canpar, UPS or FedEx deliver to, and if only FedEx can reach you, we tell you any extra charge before shipping. We do not ship to P.O. boxes or to remote communities. Tesway’s page also says it does not deliver to the Northwest Territories, Nunavut or Yukon, so call us first if you live there. Shipping policy →
What warranty does it come with?
Tesway’s written limited warranty for Canadian purchases covers manufacturing defects for two years from the day you receive the bike, and Tesway honours it on bikes sold by Zeus. Tesway’s published terms decide what is covered and what is excluded: the covered parts include the battery, frame, fork, motor, controller, display, brakes and drivetrain, and the exclusions include normal wear (tires, tubes, brake pads, cables, grips, chain and spokes) and damage from accidents, misuse, modification, improper assembly, water, extreme riding, commercial use and not following the owner’s manual, among others. (One summary line on Tesway’s site says “one year after purchase date”; its warranty policy says two years.) We file and follow the claim for you: your first month of Zeus Care is included with every e-bike (remote diagnostics, assembly walkthroughs, maintenance guidance and claim handling), and Zeus Care plans run $119 for 1 year, $229 for 2, $339 for 3 and $599 for 5. Zeus Care is a service, not added coverage. Returns are 15 days from delivery on unused, unopened items, with a 15% restocking fee and return shipping paid by you. Warranty & Zeus Care →
Is it a good bike for delivery work?
Reviews on Tesway’s X7 AWD page include a delivery test (“Uber Eats on Two Wheels: Testing the Tesway X7 AWD”), and one reviewer it quotes calls it “the perfect ebike for deliveries”. Read the warranty before you buy for that work: Tesway’s terms exclude damage from “commercial use”. Call us before you order if delivery is your plan. Best e-bikes for delivery in Canada →
