Taubik Vista 26 — Step-Through Commuter Electric Bike
An Ultra-Low Step-Through With Full Fenders, a Switchable Sensor and a Seat That Flips Up for the Battery.
Taubik pitches the Vista 26 as a commuter for riders “who want dependable performance at an accessible price point”. It lists a 500W Sutto rear hub with 68 Nm, a 48V 14.7Ah Samsung battery “Certified in Accordance with UL 2271”, 26″ commuter tires, a Mozo Peak 26 coil fork with 60 mm of travel, Shimano Altus 7-speed gearing and Zoom hydraulic brakes on 180 mm rotors.
The everyday details are the point: an ultra-low step-through frame with a lower seat height, full front and rear fenders as standard, a dual torque/cadence sensor you choose between, and a flip-up saddle that lets the battery slide out without touching the seat post. Taubik’s manual and brochure add a thumb throttle.
Taubik’s documents also set its limits: a 120 kg maximum load in the manual (286 lb on the page), and a manual written for 0 °C to 40 °C. Both are below, with both of Taubik’s figures wherever its documents differ.

What the Combination Does for a Daily Commuter
- Stop-and-go made easy. Taubik says the low frame and lower seat make “mounting, stopping, and starting feel natural and effortless”.
- Arrive cleaner. Full fenders keep road spray off you and the bike on wet streets.
- Charging without tools. Flip the seat forward and slide the battery out to charge it indoors.
- Pick the assist feel. Cadence for a steady easy ride, torque for a more bike-like one; both brake levers cut the motor. Motor and sensor types, explained →
Key Features
- 500W Sutto rear hub, 68 Nm — Taubik’s spec table reads “500W Sutto (68 NM)”; the manual lists a “SUTTON 48V500W HUB”.
- Dual torque/cadence sensor — Switched in the display menu, per the manual.
- Thumb throttle — Per the manual and brochure, up to the bike’s 32 km/h maximum. Pedal assist vs throttle →
- 48V 14.7Ah Samsung battery — 21700 cells, “Certified in Accordance with UL 2271”; slides out under the flip-up seat; charges in 6–8 hours on the 48V 2A charger, between 0 °C and 40 °C.
- 26″ commuter tires — “26” X 1.9” CST C1446” on Taubik’s page and brochure; the manual lists CST 26×2.19 at 35–40 psi.
- Mozo Peak 26 coil fork, 60 mm travel — Front suspension on a 6061 aluminum frame, 15″.
- Shimano Altus 7-speed — RD-M310 derailleur and MF-TZ500-7 (Taubik lists it as the cassette), trigger shifter.
- Zoom hydraulic disc brakes — Dual-piston, 180 mm rotors, with motor cut-off.
- Full fenders, headlight and tail light — Plus a kickstand (manual parts diagram).
- Display — Speed, battery capacity and percentage, assist level, walk mode and headlight status; menus for units, brightness, auto power-off, sensor switch and speed limit (manual).
How It Arrives
Taubik’s Vista manual says the bike is assembled, inspected and tuned at the factory, then partly taken apart to ship, and arrives about 75% assembled:
- Loosened or removed for shipping: the pedals, seat, front wheel and sometimes the handlebar
- Packed in the carton: the charger, the pedals and small parts (check the bottom of the box before you recycle it)
- The battery, which locks in with a key
- Taubik’s manual for this model: Vista manual (PDF) →
The manual recommends two people for assembly. Assembly walkthroughs by phone or video are included in your first month of Zeus Care: call 1-866-938-7580 before your first ride. Taubik’s warranty conditions include proper assembly and a pre-delivery inspection: ask us how that is handled for your order.
The Honest Take: What to Know Before You Buy
- Its manual draws the line at 0 °C. Not intended for use below freezing, battery charging only between 0 °C and 40 °C, and the warranty excludes damage from prolonged exposure to snow, storage in extreme cold and salt corrosion. Ask us or Taubik before you plan winter riding on it.
- Plan around 120 kg, not 286 lb. The page says 286 lb; the manual says a maximum load of 120 kg (about 265 lb).
- No rack listed. Fenders are standard, a rack is not, and the manual says not to install a rear rack yourself on a bike that has none.
- Commuter tires, not trail tires. Taubik describes them as built for paved commutes and bike paths, with a “low-friction profile”.
- Taubik’s documents disagree on details. Tire 26×1.9″ (page, brochure) or 26×2.19 (manual); weight 64 lb (page, brochure) or 30.5 kg (manual); frame size 15″ in its spec table, while its dimension chart lists a 16.1″ (410 mm) seat tube. We show both.
Inside those limits it is a light, practical step-through commuter: low frame, fenders, a switchable sensor and easy battery access, at the lowest price of the three Taubiks compared below.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Vista 26 have a rack?
Taubik lists full front and rear fenders as standard but no rack. Its manual adds that “If there is no rear rack on the electric bicycle, do not install one by yourself”, so ask us before you plan to fit one. If you carry groceries daily, the Tour S comes with a rear rack rated for 25 kg and a built-in brake light.
What does the dual sensor do?
Taubik says riders can “choose between cadence-based assist or torque-based assist depending on how they prefer to ride”. The manual puts the switch in the display menu (Sensor Switch: Y = cadence, N = torque). It also shows a thumb throttle and a walk mode. Pedal assist vs throttle, explained →
Is the Vista 26 legal on Canadian roads?
Canada has had no federal e-bike definition since the federal power-assisted-bicycle definition was repealed effective February 4, 2021. E-bike rules are provincial, and they converge on a 500W motor and 32 km/h of assisted speed (Nova Scotia’s statute says 30 km/h). The Vista 26 has a 500W motor, 32 km/h in Taubik’s spec table and manual, and working pedals. Its manual also says the display’s speed limit can be adjusted and asks riders not to exceed the limit set by local regulations: it ships set to 32 km/h, and whether an adjustable cap qualifies is not settled. Throttle rules also differ by province, so check the rules in your province and municipality before public-road use. Our Canadian e-bike law guide →
How far does it go on a charge?
Taubik’s page says up to 100 km. Its manual gives 50–95 km with pedal assist and 30–35 km on electric power alone. Taubik’s FAQ, written for its e-bikes in general, says its 100 km figure was measured with a 160 lb rider on flat ground, no cargo, pedal-assist level 1 and moderate temperatures. A full charge takes 6–8 hours on the 48V 2A charger. Our e-bike battery guide →
Can I ride it in winter?
Taubik’s manual says: “This equipment is not intended to be used at ambient temperatures less than 0°C or above ambient temperatures of 40°C”, and to charge the battery only between 0 °C and 40 °C. Its warranty excludes damage from prolonged exposure to rain, snow or moisture, storage in extreme cold and corrosion from salt. Ask us or Taubik before you plan winter riding on it. Our winter e-bike guide →
How heavy is it, and what is its weight limit?
Taubik’s page and brochure say 64 lb (the page also says “just over 60 pounds”); the manual says 30.5 kg (about 67 lb) net. For load, the page says 286 lb weight capacity and the manual a maximum load of 120 kg (about 265 lb): plan around the lower one.
Where are Taubik bikes made?
Taubik describes itself as “a proudly Canadian-owned electric bike company”. Its product pages, manuals and policies that we read do not say where the bikes are manufactured, so we will not guess: ask us and we will tell you what Taubik tells us.
Is there a manual, and how does it arrive?
Taubik posts the Vista manual in English and French: Vista manual (PDF) → It says the bike arrives about 75% assembled, with the pedals, seat, front wheel and sometimes the handlebar loosened or removed, and the charger, pedals and small parts in the carton, and it recommends two people for assembly. Your first month of Zeus Care includes assembly walkthroughs by phone or video: call 1-866-938-7580 before your first ride. Taubik’s warranty conditions include proper assembly and a pre-delivery inspection: ask us how that is handled for your order.
What warranty does it come with?
Taubik’s published warranty covers the frame for 2 years and the electrical components (motor, battery, controller, display and wiring) for 1 year, from the original retail purchase date, for the original purchaser. It excludes wear parts such as tires, brake pads and rotors, chains, cassettes, derailleurs and shifters (unless defective at delivery), and damage from overloading, unauthorized modifications, environmental exposure or missed maintenance; labour is not covered unless Taubik approves it in writing. Your first month of Zeus Care is included: we diagnose the problem, file the claim with Taubik and follow it up. Zeus Care plans run $119 for 1 year, $229 for 2, $339 for 3 and $599 for 5; they are a service, not added parts coverage. Returns are 15 days from delivery on unused, unopened items, with a 15% restocking fee and return shipping paid by you. Warranty & Zeus Care →
