Freesky Cheetah MT-380 — 4000W Dual Motor AWD Electric Motorbike
The Long-Range Off-Road E-Motorbike That Refuses to Stop
Most dual-motor eBikes make a trade-off between power and range. The Freesky Cheetah MT-380 refuses that deal. It runs dual 2,000W hub motors delivering 4,000W of all-wheel-drive power and 200 N·m of torque through 20″ × 4″ CST fat tires — and feeds those motors with a 48V 60Ah (2,880 Wh) battery that carries roughly 2× the capacity of any other dual-motor eBike in this price class. On pedal assist, Freesky rates range at 120–200 miles (193–320 km). In real-world mixed-terrain conditions: 60–150 miles (97–241 km). Either figure is exceptional for a 4,000W AWD machine.
The Cheetah is also the only eBike in our catalogue with a full-length tandem saddle — a genuine dual-rider seat that lets you bring a passenger on every trail. Add HiFi Bluetooth speakers, integrated handlebar turn signals, an 800-lumen LED headlight, smart brake-activated rear light, and full downhill suspension, and you have a machine with more built-in features than most electric motorcycles at twice the price. The moped-style step-over frame sits at a standover height of 28.7″ and fits riders 5’4″ to 6’5″ comfortably.
Legal note for Canadian riders: At 4,000W total, the Cheetah MT-380 exceeds Canada’s federal 500W street-legal limit for power-assisted bicycles. It is designed and sold for off-road use, private property, and trails that permit motorised vehicles. It is not legal on public roads, bike lanes, or pathways. See our Canadian eBike laws guide for the full province-by-province breakdown.

Official Freesky Overview — Cheetah MT-380:
Assembly & Setup Guide:
Why 2,880 Wh Is the Whole Argument
The single biggest differentiator between the Cheetah MT-380 and every other dual-motor AWD eBike at this price is battery capacity. Most 4,000W dual-motor bikes run 720–1,440 Wh. When you are pulling full power through both motors on a sustained climb, those batteries drain fast. The Cheetah carries 2,880 Wh — enough reserve to run the AWD motors hard for hours without watching the battery percentage collapse under your feet.
In Canadian mixed-terrain conditions — a 185 lb rider, PAS 3–4, varied grades — expect 100–160 km of realistic range. In winter below −10°C, lithium-ion cells lose 20–40% of capacity; that still leaves you with 65–120 km of cold-weather range that outlasts almost any other AWD eBike in the catalogue. If you have been range-anxious on other dual-motor machines, the Cheetah solves that at the source.
For more on how to interpret battery capacity and real-world range in Canadian conditions, see our long-range eBike guide →
Key Features
- Dual 2,000W Hub Motors (4,000W Total) — 200 N·m Torque — All-Wheel Drive — Each wheel has its own 2,000W motor, creating genuine AWD. When the rear wheel loses traction on sand, gravel, or snow, the front motor keeps the bike moving. 200 N·m of combined torque handles sustained grades that stop single-motor bikes cold. Top speed of 38 mph (61 km/h) on full pedal assist; throttle alone is limited to approximately 20 mph (32 km/h) for controlled low-speed manoeuvring.
- 48V 60Ah Battery — 2,880 Wh — UL2271 Certified — Fully Removable — The largest battery available on any dual-motor fat tire eBike in our store. 2,880 Wh is not a marketing number — it is 48 volts times 60 amp-hours. The cell pack is removable for indoor charging and theft prevention. UL2271 certification means the cells have passed rigorous North American safety testing for thermal runaway, impact, and overcharge protection. The complete bike system carries UL2849 certification as well.
- Extended Tandem Saddle — Dual-Rider Capable — A factory dual-rider seat is unique in this category. The long, cushioned saddle accommodates a passenger without add-ons. Combined with the 400 lb total payload, two average adults (160–185 lbs each) ride within rated capacity with gear margin remaining. Solo riders get the additional comfort of a longer seating position that reduces pressure on long runs.
- HiFi Bluetooth Speakers — Integrated in Frame — Not a bar-mounted clip-on — the Cheetah’s Bluetooth audio is built into the bike. Pairs with any phone. Stream navigation audio, music, or podcasts without separate hardware. The speakers are road- and trail-grade, not consumer earbuds mounted in a plastic clip.
- Integrated Turn Signals & Smart Rear Light — Handlebar-mounted left and right turn signals are standard. The rear light is brake-activated — it brightens under deceleration the same way a car’s brake lights do. On shared trails and back roads with other vehicles, this is a meaningful safety feature that most eBikes at any price do not include.
- 800-Lumen LED Headlight — 800 lumens illuminates a real cone of trail ahead at speed. Most eBike headlights in this price range deliver 200–400 lumens — enough to meet a legal requirement, not enough to actually see where you are going at 38 mph in the dark. The Cheetah’s headlight is a genuine lighting system.
- Downhill-Style Full Suspension — Front Fork & Rear Shock — Downhill-rated fork geometry handles impacts, drops, root crossings, and rough trail sections that hardtail frames transmit directly to the rider. The rear shock absorbs trail chatter on extended rides. Together with 4″ fat tires, the suspension system delivers ride quality that is genuinely surprising for a 122 lb off-road machine.
- 4-Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes — 180mm Rotors — Four-piston calipers generate substantially more clamping force than the two-piston units standard on most eBikes. On a 122 lb machine carrying 400 lbs of combined load at 38 mph on a loose downhill, four pistons and 180mm rotors are the appropriate stopping specification. Hydraulic actuation provides consistent feel regardless of cable stretch or weather.
- 20″ × 4.0″ CST Fat Tires — Four-inch-wide tires float over terrain that swallows narrower tyres: deep sand, wet snow, soft mud, gravel. The 20″ wheel diameter keeps the centre of gravity low, giving the Cheetah a planted, stable feel at speed on uneven surfaces. CST is the same tyre specification found on our Eunorau Meta and Ridetar Q20 Pro.
- Shimano 7-Speed Drivetrain — KMC Chain — Seven gears on a dual-hub-motor bike provides a mechanical range buffer on top of the motor’s five PAS levels. Drop to a low gear for comfortable pedalling on sustained climbs. Shift to a high gear to pedal efficiently on flats when you want the exercise. KMC chain is a reliable, globally serviceable drivetrain component.
- Colour LCD Smart Display — Speed, battery level, PAS mode, trip odometer, headlight status, and turn signal indicator all visible at a glance. Clean layout with legibility in direct sunlight.
- 6061 Aluminium Frame — Moped-Style Step-Over Geometry — Aircraft-grade 6061 aluminium gives the frame a stiff, durable structure that absorbs trail loads without flexing. The moped-style upright geometry places the handlebars close to the body — comfortable for long off-road runs and familiar to anyone transitioning from a motorcycle or moped. Heavy-duty adjustable aluminium kickstand standard from the factory.

The Honest Take — What We’d Change
The Cheetah MT-380 delivers on its headline specs. But it is a specific machine for a specific rider, and there are four things you should know before buying:
- 122 lbs is genuinely heavy. This is the heaviest eBike in our catalogue. Loading it into a truck without a ramp is a two-person job. Carrying it up apartment stairs is not realistic for most riders. If you do not have garage-level storage or a ground-floor parking solution, this bike will frustrate you. Plan your storage situation before it arrives.
- Not street-legal anywhere in Canada. The Cheetah’s 4,000W total motor power classifies it as a motor vehicle under the federal Motor Vehicle Safety Act. It cannot legally be ridden on public roads, bike lanes, or pathways in any Canadian province without registration, insurance, and a driver’s licence. This is a serious constraint — it means no city commuting, no pathway riding, and no road segments between trail access points. If you need a dual-motor option that qualifies as a legal eBike, see the Dual Motor collection →
- Cadence sensor, not torque sensor. The motor responds to pedal rotation speed rather than pedal force. Assist engagement is reliable but less nuanced than the natural, proportional feel of torque-sensing bikes. For off-road adventure riding at these power levels this is perfectly adequate — but riders coming from torque-sensor bikes will notice the difference.
- Shimano 7-speed gearing. At this price and capability level we would prefer 8- or 9-speed for wider gear range. The 7-speed works without issue but a wider cassette spread would better match the bike’s terrain range and top speed.
Those four points stated: 2,880 Wh of certified Samsung/LG-grade cells, full AWD, tandem seating, Bluetooth audio, integrated turn signals, four-piston brakes, and full downhill suspension at $3,264 is a package we have not seen matched at this price point. If you are the right rider for this machine, these trade-offs are straightforward to accept.

Who Is the Cheetah MT-380 Best For?
- Off-road and trail adventurers — If your riding is on private land, crown land that permits motorised vehicles, or off-road trail systems, the Cheetah’s AWD traction, downhill suspension, and 2,880 Wh battery are the right combination for full-day rides without recharging. The 4″ fat tires handle sand, snow, mud, and loose gravel that stop narrower tyres. Read our winter riding guide for battery care tips in cold conditions.
- Duo riders — The extended tandem saddle is a factory feature on no other eBike we carry. Two adults on a single machine, within the 400 lb payload rating, with all the range the 2,880 Wh battery provides. There is no other option in our catalogue that offers this out of the box.
- Heavy-duty and cargo riders — 400 lbs of payload with AWD traction means you can load this bike with hunting gear, camping equipment, or tools without the loss of stability and rear-wheel spin that rear-drive bikes suffer under heavy cargo. For more context on payload ratings and what they mean in practice, see our guide to eBikes for heavy riders →
- Motorcycle and moped riders going electric — The moped-style frame, upright riding position, integrated lighting system, and turn signals create a transition from a gas moped that feels immediate. The AWD power delivery at full throttle matches mid-range gas moped acceleration. None of the engine maintenance, oil changes, or cold-start issues of combustion.
- Maximum-range riders — If range is your single top priority and you are willing to trade street legality and bike weight for it, 2,880 Wh is as much energy storage as you will find in any eBike at this price. No other dual-motor bike in our catalogue comes close to this capacity. See our long-range eBike guide for a full comparison by battery size.
Who the Cheetah MT-380 is NOT for: Commuters and pathway riders — the 4,000W motor means no public roads or pathways legally in Canada. Riders under 5’4″ — the 35″ seat height and moped geometry do not suit smaller frames. Apartment and condo dwellers without dedicated ground-floor storage — 122 lbs is not a bike you carry upstairs. Torque-sensor enthusiasts who prefer natural proportional pedal feel over cadence-based assist. Riders who need something lighter for transport and storage — see the Folding eBike collection or the Step-Thru collection for more manageable options.

Choose the Cheetah MT-380 if: You want the largest battery in the class (2,880 Wh vs 1,440 Wh for the X9), plan to carry a passenger, or the Bluetooth speakers, UL certification, and turn signals matter to your use case. The $865 premium over the X9 buys you 2× the battery, a tandem seat, Bluetooth audio, and full dual certification.
Choose the Tesway X9 AWD ($2,399) if: You want the same 4,000W AWD power at $865 less, 17 lbs lighter, and 26″ wheels for a different ride character. You accept approximately half the battery range (1,440 vs 2,880 Wh).
Choose the Ridetar Q20 Pro ($2,239) if: You want AWD in a significantly lighter (88 lb) package with a retro cruiser style and integrated turn signals. The Q20 Pro’s 2,000W total power and 2,080 Wh battery are well-balanced for winter AWD commuting on private property.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Freesky Cheetah MT-380 street-legal in Canada?
No — not on public roads or pathways. Canada’s federal Power-Assisted Bicycle Regulations cap street-legal eBikes at 500W nominal motor power and 32 km/h. The Cheetah’s 4,000W combined peak power classifies it as a motor vehicle under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, requiring registration, insurance, and a valid driver’s licence for road use. The bike is sold for off-road trails, private property, and motorised-vehicle-permitted trail systems. See our Canadian eBike laws guide for a full province-by-province breakdown.
What is the seat height and who fits this bike?
The seat height is 35.0″ (89 cm) and the standover height is 28.7″ (73 cm). Freesky recommends this bike for riders 5’4″ to 6’5″ (163–196 cm). Riders at the shorter end of that range (5’4″–5’6″) will tippy-toe at stops — manageable given the 28.7″ standover. Riders above 6’3″ may find the 18.5″ reach slightly compact; we recommend sitting on the bike before purchasing if you are in that range. Riders under 5’4″ should consider a lower-standover step-thru model.
How heavy is the Cheetah MT-380 and how do I handle it?
The bike weighs approximately 122 lbs (55 kg). Practical tips: (1) Remove the battery before manoeuvring — it weighs roughly 15–18 lbs and is the heaviest detachable component. (2) Use a loading ramp for truck or van transport — two people lifting this bike without a ramp risks injury and frame damage. (3) Plan your storage before it arrives — ground-level or garage storage is strongly recommended. Indoor apartment or condo storage is not practical for most riders.
What is the realistic range of the Cheetah MT-380 in Canadian winter?
Freesky rates 120–200 miles (193–320 km). In Canadian winter conditions (−10 to −15°C), lithium-ion cells lose 20–40% of capacity. From the lower end of the realistic range (97 km), that leaves 65–80 km of cold-weather range — still exceptional for a dual-motor AWD machine. To maximise winter range: store the battery indoors overnight, attach it just before riding (warm battery performs better), and use PAS 2–3 rather than full throttle. For more detail, see our winter eBike guide →
Can the Cheetah MT-380 carry two riders?
Yes — the extended tandem saddle is designed for two adults. The 400 lb (181 kg) total payload means two riders at 160–185 lbs each (320–370 lbs combined) ride within rated capacity with some gear margin. Range will be reduced with two riders at maximum power; expect the lower portion of the realistic range estimate. AWD traction with a passenger on soft terrain is actually more effective than single-rider rear-drive bikes, as the front motor compensates when the loaded rear loses grip.
How do I finance the Cheetah MT-380?
Zeus eBikes offers financing across Canada. At $3,264, payments start from approximately $135/month depending on term and your credit profile. See our full eBike financing guide for lender options, approval tips, and monthly payment examples. Financing is available at checkout.
Is the battery replaceable?
Yes — the 48V 60Ah pack is fully removable and replaceable. Freesky replacement batteries are available through Zeus eBikes. Given the already substantial 2,880 Wh capacity, most riders find the included battery sufficient for all-day use across the bike’s lifetime. If cells degrade after several years of heavy cycling, replacement units are available.
What wattage is legal on Canadian streets and why does this bike exceed it?
Canada’s federal regulations define a legal power-assisted bicycle as having a motor rated at 500W or less. The Cheetah’s dual motors produce 4,000W combined — eight times the street-legal limit. This is not unusual for performance off-road eBikes — many dual-motor machines sold in Canada exceed the street limit and are designed explicitly for off-road, farm, trail, or private-property use. Zeus sells both street-legal and off-road eBikes; every product page clearly states its legal classification. See our wattage guide for the full breakdown of how motor ratings work.
